"Kirin and Bakeneko" by Jasmine Becket-Griffith (@strangeling) currently on view in the group show “EAST/WEST” at the @coreyhelfordgallery in Los Angeles curated by Caro.
« I’ve included a Kirin in my painting here, wrapped around a shamisen (traditional Japanese instrument) ». - Jasmine
Currently on view, we’re proud to debut a new series by @hikarishimoda with her solo show “Children on the Edge.” Hikari’s exhibit marks a continuation of her series of the same name, featuring portraits of her peculiar, starry-eyed children. Her newer works portray her characters in a state of being “on the edge”, which she interprets as having many meanings- the edge between childhood and adulthood, the edge between two worlds, the spirit world and our reality, or the border between her home country and other countries.
Hikari’s work is complimented by the US debut of @pipnpop with a site-specific, sparkling landscape installation to the gallery. The exhibitions are on view until February 17th. To inquire about Hikari’s work, please email us at email@example.com.
