Aaaand I will be enjoying a steamy mug of superfood hot cocoa with breakfast! ☕️ Because starting my day with chocolate just makes me HAPPY! 🤗
Here's how I make it: 👩🏻🍳
Add to a mug and fill with hot water (leaving a little room at the top):
2 tablespoons @navitasorganics cacao powder
1/4 teaspoon @sunpotion ashwagandha
1 scoop @vitalproteins marine collagen
1/8 teaspoon @simplyorganicfoods pure vanilla extract
1 tablespoon @enjoylifefoods mini chocolate chips
Microwave for 2 minutes, mix, taste, and add 1 teaspoon @thedatelady date sugar for a sweeter take. Top off with a generous splash of your favorite milk (right now we're using @so_delicious coconut milk) and a dusting of cinnamon! 😋

This is the life of a competitor - or anyone on a fitness journey! Competing forces me to practice self discipline for a set period of time to reach a set goal. It helps me say no to things I want to say yes to and vice verse. While I normally eat pretty healthy most of the time, I still enjoy treats. It’s not what you do sometimes that hurts us, it’s what we habitually do that really hurts us. Maintaining a healthy balance is important. I’m still learning something new every day but, FINALLY, after discovering the right nutrition products and getting into a healthy daily routine, I feel like I’ve finally learned how to look and feel healthy year round. I still have a lot to learn - mostly about myself, but I plan on sharing everything I learn as I go so I’m not the only one that benefits. So thankful for this past year. Looking forward to helping more people on 2018!!
Who else is now really looking forward to Christmas? One week today I’ll be consuming my bodyweight in turkey, pigs in blankets and roast potatoes 🤤
If you are trying to lose weight then Christmas can be a stressful time of year. Constant temptations and busy social events make it pretty hard to stay on track. I tell my clients that December involves a large amount of damage limitation. Manipulating daily calories to allow those evening or lunch time splurges, or simply aiming for lower calorie alcohol choices. Just be sensible on your quieter days and don’t be too hard on yourself if you aren’t sticking to your plan 100%. Ride the wave of December festivities as best you can and then get back to smashing it once the Christmas period is over.
Then most importantly: have Christmas Day off! No calorie counting or stressing about fitness. In the grand scheme of things, how much of a difference is one day going to make? No one has ever looked back at Christmas and said “wow, I’m so glad I didn’t have that extra portion of roast potatoes.” Or if you do hear someone saying that, cut them out of your life. You don’t need that sort of negativity 🤪

It’s the Monday before Christmas and I am so easily frustrated by what seem to be the smallest things. The fact that I recognize how small and insignificant these things are makes the frustration all the more annoying. 🤨
The crazy thing about this season is that it tends to make you reflect on gratitude, giving, and filling your cup so that you can pour for others. 🎄
So this morning after the shuttle ran late, I sat in traffic, and I got frustrated with some small things at work- I remembered to breathe and channel my frustrations into grace. 😊

So many of us are still fat phobic… avoiding fat to save calories and going for fat free foods. But some fats are actually our friends! The fat facts are confusing, so below are a couple of tips to help you out.
Did you know that saturated fat may create even more of a risk of developing heart disease than cholesterol? ❤️NCEP guidelines advise reducing your intake of saturated fats to >10 % of your daily caloric intake. So, if you’re trying to lose weight and consuming 1,500 calories a day, you should try to limit your intake of saturated fats to 15 grams daily. Gotta Read It Before You Eat It to see what you’re really getting. 😉 .
Coconut oil and the like are on trend right now, but proceed with caution. 🥥 Moderation is still advised! Other fats, like those in olive oil, avocado, or nuts, have been shown to reduce the incidence of heart disease, so perhaps it’s best to consume a mix of fats in your diet. 🥑

💡 One of the most awesome things I get to see as a coach, is an absolute beginner master movement at an accelerated rate, compared to those of us who got WAY to carried away with the bars before we mastered our body!
🕹 If you’re already two years plus down the line into your training - do not fret! Take a week and assign it with the title ‘fundamentals week’.
🗿 You could even have a ‘fundamentals session’. In which you’re going to step back into the SweatBox as a beginner - with the same respect and care.
🏅 You may pull the plates off the and work your squat depth, pick up the PVC pipe and nail the translational phases of your Clean + Jerk or maybe you’ll spend 30 mins challenging the knee to move efficiently, without pain.

My mom took me to her #gym today. Guys, it’s the biggest gym I’ve ever seen! It’s like a #fitness campus. It has everything you could ever want: free weights, weight machines, cardio machines, a boxing gym, a CrossFit box, a Pilates studio, a yoga studio, a HIIT studio, a salt water lap pool, and outdoor pool, a whirlpool, a steam room, a sauna, a track, basketball courts, a cafe and who knows what else that I didn’t even see. And you know what? Her insurance pays for her membership. What the what? Can I get some of those perks, please?
Once I was able to close my mouth, my mom joined me for a solid #upperbodyworkout . It was so nice to have her company and get our #sweat on together!
