Here's my little beauty eating her dinner. With apple for afters😁 this one, is my toughest food critic.
She doesn't 'like' vegetables or anything 'green' and 'healthy'; organic is a dirty word😂 so as you can imagine, it's very difficult to get her to eat anything real and decent other than processed food😖however we work with what she will eat and make the most of it with various amounts of sneaking and hiding!😈
she loves fish, whole grain foods, some fruit (including apples). I have faith this will develop 😂🙈
Anyway, the point I wanted to make was how wonderful apples have been in her life👏🏼😃
Belle has suffered (you see I used past tense there☝🏻😉) with terribly sore, itchy eczema😔 the good news is she's not had a 'bout' in about two years. (she's had signs it was going to start and then it just disappears)Coincidentally, since I decided we were going to introduce apples in her diet on a daily basis!😃 it may not work for everyone but it worked for her.
The science bit:
Foods containing quercetin (like apples):
Quercetin is a plant-based flavonoid. It helps give many flowers, fruits, and vegetables their rich color. It’s also a powerful antioxidant and antihistamine. This means it can reduce inflammation as well as levels of histamine in your body.
Foods high in quercetin include:
apples, blueberries, cherries, broccoli (she claims to 'like' this too🤔),spinach and kale.
Foods containing probiotics: Probiotic foods, such as yogurt, contain live cultures that help support a strong immune system. All may help reduce flare-ups or allergic reactions.
I would never claim any food is a miracle in ridding our bodies of diseases and ailments. But I do believe a good diet definitely supports in reducing disease and ailments.😃

I know this looks like just another green smoothie, but I feel like I have perfected the ingredients. My husband says it's the best smoothie he has ever had and my kids drink it right up! I've made it 3 times in the past week.
Here's the ridiculously easy recipe-
Half can of full fat coconut milk. 2-3 handfuls of ice. About half of a mango. 1 banana. And as much spinach as you can fit in the blender (for me is 4-5 big handfuls I smash down). And blend away. Seriously so good and makes 2 big servings! Enjoy!!
Yellow wax beans, also called yellow snap beans, can be a pretty versatile and delicious part of your diet. They are a good source of protein, thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6, calcium, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and copper. Yellow wax beans are also a very good source of dietary fiber, vitamin C, folate, and manganese.⠀
In spite of these benefits 19.9 million Americans have a delayed food sensitivity to yellow wax beans. Because of its medium level of reactivity, if yellow wax beans are a part of your diet we recommend sending us a message letting us know what chronic health symptoms you have been experiencing. We can connect you with one of our Food Sensitivity Experts to assist you in finding out if yellow wax beans, or any other common foods, may be triggering your symptoms.
When it comes to healing your thyroid one of the issues that's often overlooked is toxicity...
This also goes well beyond leaky gut/intestinal permeability and has more to do with certain heavy metals that disrupt this delicate gland...
And if these specific heavy metals are high, they'll actually block your thyroid's ability to make activated thyroid hormone (T3)...

But this pumpkin chai smoothie with chlorella and sprulina is too good to pass up. Added @wildwayoflife Apple cinnamon granola and @eatnuttzo Pb on top. I didn't have time to make a smoothie at all these past couple of days and I was craving one...even in this fall weather. 🍁🎃Usually the change in seasons gives me some anxiety but I realize that changes in the routine of life is necessary for spiritual growth and a greater perspective on Gods amazing grace. Perfection doesn't equal happiness but realizing that I am loved eternally by Christ brings me peace and joy!
gifts of harvest🍁 80% of this meal is in-season,local Georgia produce! here are few life hacks I have tried to implement: switching to local and seasonal produce was a lot harder than I thought it would be...finding a market that is sourced by farmers that isn't too far was the first obstacle, but found a sweet couple 15 minutes away who are sourced by 10-12 farmers in North Georgia, and y'all...so cheap🤑 second...how do you eat seasonal if you don't know what's in season🤷🏾♀️ printed out a harvest calendar from the Georgia Organics society and have it on the fridge. third, meal planning with seasons... right now we got sweet potatoes, apples, and peppers🤔...uh what lol...but you just have to get creative and try new things!

Our latest blog "Good Fats, Bad Fats: Knowing the Difference" has gone live on our website! In it we talk about the three main types of fat – namely saturated, polyunsaturated and monounsaturated – report the findings of a recent global study, and ask whether it's really 'healthy' to restrict dietary fat. It's lunch time!! Woo hoo!! Here's a little food for thought!
I love using food as medicine!! If you're feeling bloated, tired, foggy-minded...try incorporating these natural Detoxers into your day! • Squeeze some lemons into your water, this will help detox the liver
• Enjoy some fresh pineapple for dessert to satisfy your sweet tooth or add them to a salad, this will help reduce inflammation (Enjoy in small portions to avoid sugar glucose spike) ☺️
• Add beets to your meal to boost antioxidants and help to battle free radicals** in the body 🙌🏼
•Add Dandelion leaves to a salad or shake to help support the detoxification of the kidneys 🌼🌿 **Free radicals are atoms or groups of atoms with an odd (unpaired) number of electrons and can be formed when oxygen interacts with certain molecules. Once formed these highly reactive radicals can start a chain reaction, causing lots of cellular damage. To prevent free radical damage the body has a defense system of antioxidants.

A little post-Asheville detox may be in order. It's not that I ate BAD foods per say- but being a foodcentric town and me being a foodie... Let's just say my digestive system could use a breather. 😄 So we start the day with a warm homemade detox tea with apple cider vinegar, lemon, cinnamon and cayenne. Then we'll move onto putting the good stuff in- probiotics, digestive enzymes, super greens like chlorella and matcha, antioxidants, and adaptogens to support my immune system and fight off and airport bugs I may have come into contact with! That's where my supersmoothie comes it, I'm feeling some cafe latte today! 🌱😋
I LOVE MY ADRENAL GLANDS!🎉 I mean, when was the last time (or ever) that you thought the function of your adrenal glands - probably never, right? The adrenal glands are an integral part of the body’s overall function, yet how do we nourish, protect and enhance the function of our adrenal glands. 👊🏼
So, what are the adrenal glands? 🤓 Found on top of each kidney, the adrenal glands are two organs (the size of your thumb!👍🏼) that produce hormones that help the body control blood sugar, burn protein and fat, react to stressors, & regulate blood pressure. An integral part of the endocrine system, our adrenals produce over 50 hormones 😱 that are essential for #LIFE . 🌀As I’ve learned from my girl, @dr.jess.md - imbalanced hormones can throw off our body significantly leading to serious conditions. ================================
Due to stress, exposure to toxins, rigorous work schedules, and just day to day STUFF - “adrenal fatigue” 😴has been named the culprit behind imbalanced hormones, weight gain, sluggishness, and so much more. That’s where FOOD comes in! #FoodIsMedicine 💚
👊🏼Foods and Herbs that Enhance:
🍄Shiitake mushroom: A great source of B vitamins, (millions of Americans are B-vitamin deficient - not just vegans). Shiitake mushrooms turn nutrients from food into useable energy. They also help balance hormones & clear up brain fog.
🌿Seaweed: Seaweed contains iodine along with other minerals that can support the adrenal glands and help normalize elevated adrenal secretion. 🌱Adaptogen herbs: These healing plants promote hormone balance while helping to protect you from stress-related diseases; ashwagandha, rhodiola and holy basil. 🍃Eleuthero Root: In traditional herbal medicine, Eleuthera was used to calm the spirit, awaken he mind and increase overall energy.
🌹Rose hips: Strong source of vitamin C, bioflavonoids & antioxidants, rose hips support overall health of the skin, tissues in the body & a healthy inflammatory response & immune system functions.

HAD to repost this from @theholisticpractitioner_ , God not only gave us food 🥑🥕🥒🍆🌰🌶🍅🍇to heal us naturally and keep our body's healthy, but he beautifully created it so it that looks like/resembles the function of the body it aids in! This symbolism is absolutely beautiful (plus it helps us remember which foods help what 😊). Btw I love these kind of facts and information, since I am studying to go to med school for alternative medicine/ holistic medicine, so if you have or know of any pages that support natural, holistic care, I would love to check them out and follow! Happy hump day!🐪 #hollistic#foodismedicine#naturalremedies#healing#healthyliving

I LOVE YOU SO MATCHA 💗
Thank you for all of your love and support with my previous post. Shedding light on my past/healing journey has been challenging yet frightening. Frightening in the sense where I worry how everyone will perceive me or the individuals who may have shaped my framework. Granted my past is apart of me and has molded me to be the person that I am and so, I feel that it's only fair that I show all parts of me. Not only the good parts that you tend to see on social media. And as I write this blog post, I am having a Matcha latte with @moondeli energy tonic & @sunpotion reishi adaptogens✨ an excellent tonic to help soothe the nervous system, nourish the heart, open communication, inspire a state of curiosity, trust, adaptability and ease✨
pro tip: as the season comes to an end, ask your favorite farmers at the market if they have any extra bulk items they can sell ya (sometimes at a bit of a discount). they’re not always the prettiest babies of the bunch, but they’re perfect for canning + jamming + preserving to your heart’s content 👌🏼
4 words: homemade coconut milk yogurt. 🎉🎉🎉 maybe a few more: extra thick and super creamy perfection. Yep, that's it. I am so excited about this recipe from @savoringtheflavoring because now instead of splurging on crazy priced yogurt (that does not taste nearly as good) I can make it at home!! Do you self a favor and go check out the recipe on her blog! You should also follow her cause she is insanely funny and has tons of awesome recipes😊 .
For breakfast this morning I added one scoop of @vitalproteins collagen to the yogurt for protein💪🏻 + blackberries + chia seeds + bee pollen and post picture some granola🤤 happy Wednesday everyone!
Eating a healthy diet that keeps your blood sugar levels in a healthy range is particularly important if you have nerve pain related to diabetes, says the University of Maryland Medical Center. Fruits and vegetables supply rich amounts of fiber, which supports blood sugar and appetite control. As prime antioxidant sources, they also help reduce inflammation. Fruits and vegetables particularly rich in antioxidants include berries, citrus fruits, winter squash, bell peppers, tomatoes and dark, leafy greens. Turnips, raspberries and cooked Brussels sprouts, sweet potatoes and peas are particularly fiber-rich.#beyondfitcoaching#foodismedicine#food#foodmatters#healthcoach#formgoodhabits#themoreyouknow#intention#health#happiness #
If you or someone you love is suffering from an eating disorder, you’ll know how crippling they can be. And yet medical communities have almost no understanding of these conditions. Eating disorders include far more than just anorexia and bulimia and are shockingly common.

I really try hard to focus on my blessings. I am truly grateful for all I have but sometimes I feel the tears. They follow this "tingly" feeling and a heaviness that falls across my neck and shoulders.
It is the saddest, loneliest feeling ever. It makes me feel like I don't belong. It makes me feel awkward and alone.
I stopped taking medication for depression, but lately it seems to be rearing its ugly head. I am fighting hard to overcome it. When it hits I want nothing more than to drown it out with alcohol but that is SIMPLY NOT AN OPTION.
It is hard for those who don't suffer from depression to understand it. People look at you and see that your life is good and wonder what the hell is wrong with you. But that IS depression.
I PUT A SMILE ON MY FACE AND I FAKE IT UNTIL THE FEELING PASSES...sometimes not so well...
Today's #10degreesofchange here at the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community having an amazing, incredible & healing time (👈🏽I'll share this story another day) here at the Second Annual Conference on Native American Nutrition! #nutrition17 Listening to our elders and there traditional knowledge and wisdom. Ever wonder why a pediatrician may kick you out of their practice if you don't vaccinate as if you worked for them🤔👁...
👁♻️ @chrisheights Good looking out @ugly_by_nature. @vegantake0ver
Look up the 👉 #BlueCrossBlueShield doctor incentives booklet from 2016.... I've been telling you for sometime that your doctor is getting bonuses to pump your precious babies with every possible vaccine. Smh "The average American pediatrician has 1546 patients, though some pediatricians see many more. The vast majority of those patients are very young, perhaps because children transition to a family physician or stop visiting the doctor at all as they grow up. As the table above explains, Blue Cross Blue Shield pays pediatricians $400 per fully vaccinated child. If your pediatrician has just 100 fully-vaccinated patients turning 2 this year, that’s $40,000. Yes, Blue Cross Blue Shield pays your doctor a $40,000 bonus for fully vaccinating 100 patients under the age of 2. If your doctor manages to fully vaccinate 200 patients, that bonus jumps to $80,000"
However, there’s also a catch. Rules dictate that “pediatricians lose the whole bonus unless at least 63% of patients are fully vaccinated, and that includes the flu vaccine. So it’s not just $400 on your child’s head–it could be the whole bonus.”3That means the decision not to vaccinate might be costing your doctor $40,000, or much more, depending on the size of their practice. Now THAT’S an incentive
I'm starting to get back in the habit of writing my morning intentions and then going back at night and reflecting. I forget how much of a difference it makes and how much more mindful I am when I do it. Does anyone else do this?
What should we create today?
🌿🍅😻 I love cooking with my little helper, he is so independent and wants to help me do everything, getting him started on plant based foods early.
When I take him off gluten and dairy his eczema disappears!
