I have 3 favourite pancakes. 1. The @eatbychloe blackberry and sweet corn house pancakes (no pancakes beat those pancakes and they serve them with this lush maple butter and oooweeeee) 2. My carob and buckwheat pancakes (rich but really healthy. Feels like a cheeky unhealthy treat but actually aren't which really is the best kind of surprise) AND these pancakes (pictured) are number 3. I haven't really sold them very well have I? 😂😂 These spelt and oat pancakes are CAKEY and YUMMY and a great brekkie for you and the little ones. The recipe is so simple: 1cup spelt flour, 1 cup non-dairy milk (I used oat but have used almond before too), 3/4 tsp baking powder and a pinch of bicarb, pinch of cinnamon, 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar (or lemon juice) and 1 tbsp maple syrup if you want - all mixed together. Then make like normal pancakes 😀👍🏽. I've topped them here with my wild berry compote, @nushfoods cashew yoghurt and @costco walnuts, pecans and maple syrup 😁
Looking for a little Balance? The newest release from @mahalo.care is here and it’s the long awaited Circadian Balance Tonic. What I have here is just the baby version that came in the Winter Grace collection (which along with the Taste of Desires set is still available. Both linked in my bio) but the full size of this immune boosting tonic is 10ml and should last you a good bit. This tonic has been on repeat for me since we got back from our trip (I left it out to pack and then in the hustle of trying to get out the door I forgot it!) with everything that’s been going on. Unfortunately, our entire household is coming down with the flu at this point so it’s not helping there but it has been really great at stress relief, general anxiety, and helping with sleep. Rolled on pulse points the scent actually lasts quite a long time which helps when I’m not near my roller ball I just press my wrist up to my nose and inhale and feel a general calm wash over my whole body. This has been nothing short of a life saver. You can grab your own now to get you through the rest of the winter season and beyond. They are limited right now, however. Link in my bio will take you to the page to read more about it and why it’s in such short supply until later this year. It really is beautiful and a total mood booster. I need one for every area of my house! #mahalo#mahalocare#circadianbalance#moodboosting#immuneboosting#aromatictonic#vegan#crueltyfree#wellness#selfcare#anxiety

An all time favourite #vegetariancurry and described by the kids as ‘homely’ and a favourite one for hubby! This is also a classic Gujarati meal made with okra and daal. I learnt this recipe from my mother at the age of 13. 🤓
👉🏾Okra is a flowering plant that is known in many parts of the world as ladies’ fingers or bhindi and is most highly prized because of its seed pods. 👉🏾The scientific name of this interesting plant is Abelmoschus esculentus.
👉🏾 Okra has a rich content of vitamins and minerals, including vitamins A, B, C, E, and K, as well as calcium, iron, magnesium, potassium, and zinc. 👉🏾Furthermore, okra contains high levels of mucilaginous fiber. 🙌🏾
👉🏾Some of the health benefits of okra include improved digestion, better vision, lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity and improves skin. 👉🏾Word of caution 🤔 consuming okra has high levels of oxalates. Oxalates bind to existing kidney and gallstones and cause them to grow and may worsen the associated conditions 🙁 👉🏾Did I mention how good these #antioxidantrich beauties taste!! 😃😋 #betacarotene#nutritious#plantfood#guthealth#fluidbalance#cardiovascularhealth#immuneboosting#freshherbsandspices#vegetarian#vegan#indiancurry#childhoodmemories#madewithlove#gujaratifood
Essential oils can be really overwhelming for some and I think that's because it goes against how most of us were raised. I didn't have a holistic upbringing at all, it was pretty standard actually. You get sick, you go to the pharmacy, get your drugs and take them without asking any questions or reading any fine print, then you sit around and wait for them to kick in. The "goods" were locked away under the kitchen sink or in a medicine cabinet. With essential oils we leave them out in plain site and reach for them as often as we need. We focus on prevention of illness probably even more so than just the cure. The more I learn about EO's and the more confident I become, the more my family reaps the benefits. And that's the most amazing part, because we are the CEO's of our own health. I think people forget that all too often.
If you’ve ever had me share oils with you, you’ve heard my love for Frankincense 😍👊🙌😍 and all it’s amazing ways it has helped me.
(Immune system supporting, my emotional health, and of course skin health...cause this body likes to detox through my face 😳😫)
Well I finally now have Sacred Frankincense to try! It came as a gift in my last wellness box 🤗
So far I am loving it! ❤️❤️❤️
Never under estimate the power of Copaiba. You can actually add it to any oil to enhance the effect and it's also great for pain relief. This teething roller is currently my most used roller. 5 drops of copaiba and 5 drops of lavender in a 10ml roller bottle, fill the rest with your choice of carrier oil and your ready to roll! I roll it right on his jaw line, starting behind the ears going right to the chin as well as on his soles and spine if needed. These oils are both found in your Young Living Starter kit 😍

I 💕🍍PINEAPPLES🍍not only for their flavour but also their nutritional and health benefits....
For My local #fitfam they are on special this week @shes.apples 😋
For those interested in some fun 🍍facts read on...🍍🌴 The fruit is actually made of many individual berries that fuse together around a central core. Each pineapple scale is an individual berry. 🍍Pineapples’ nutritional benefits are as fascinating as their anatomy. They contain high amounts of vitamin C and manganese. These tropical treats are also a good way to get important dietary fiber and bromelain (an enzyme). As well as having high amounts of manganese, which is important for antioxidant defenses, pineapples also contain high amounts of thiamin, a B vitamin that is involved in energy production 🍍For all its sweetness, one cup of pineapple chunks contains only 82 calories. Pineapples are also fat-free, cholesterol-free and low in sodium. Not surprisingly, they do contain sugar, with 16 grams per cup (4 teaspoon)
Top Health benefits
Immune system support
Pineapple contains Vitamin C this I s a primary water-soluble antioxidant that fights cell damage. This makes vitamin C a helpful fighter against problems such as heart disease and joint pain.
Blood clot reduction
Common cold and sinus inflammation
Bromelain can also interact with some medications. Those taking antibiotics, anticoagulants, blood thinners, anticonvulsants, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, insomnia drugs and tricyclic antidepressants should be careful not to eat too much pineapple. And if you are menses or pregnant don’t have too much either.
Made cold and flu season gummies tonight. These are full of immune boosting goodness. The recipe I use is from Predominantly Paleo with the addition of a few drops of On Guard and Lemon essential oils. I make my own elderberry syrup and use that in these gummies. The boys love them and have a few packed in their lunches for school tomorrow. #healthyliving#immuneboosting
DAY 6: OREGANO 💚
Day 6 and we are on our last single oil for the Top 10! Oregano essential oil is one of the most potent oils and is known for being used for centuries in traditional medicine for its cleansing and immune boosting properties! Oregano essential oil contains phenols - powerful antioxidants that ward off free radicals. When feeling any kind of bug coming on, this is the oil you want to turn to! A little goes a long way so usually 1-2 drops is all that’s needed! •
✨USES: • take one drop internally when seasonal threats are high •rub oregano essential oil diluted with fractionated coconut oil on bottoms of feet to help boost your immune system •use in place of dried oregano when making spaghetti or pizza sauce •mix one to two drops in water and gargle to soothe an irritated/sore throat
•diffuse/inhale to support healthy respiratory function •
Spent a couple hours today in our backyard mountains. We hiked and did lots of rock jumping. Reagan was obsessed with all the rocks and at one point she was so excited to show me a pile of tiny rocks she was playing with, which was actually deer poop. 😝 #immuneboosting I know how bad we need the snow, but we are taking advantage of the sunshine!
Five things I’m currently obsessed with: 📚 The More of Less by Joshua Becker - I think it is changing my life. I NEEDED this so badly in my life. Audible is the way to go to listen while you work! 🍇 homemade elderberry syrup - so I can support my kids’ immune systems while they are sick to kick it naturally and strengthen their bodies over time! (Yes this is a grape emoji I know..) 😍😍 - this shelf given to me by Kristina Teaff as gift for crushing some major goals in November. Now my oils that don’t ever leave the kitchen aren’t just spread all over the counter 🙂 ☕️ this espresso machine!!! Took our lives to a whole new level I tell ya. And the fact that we found this gem for $30 on Craigslist makes it that much sweeter. 👱🏻♀️📒 This notebook we use for Classical Conversations. This genius woman created these to help with the curriculum and Ellison loves it. It makes this homeschool newbie who still doesn’t know what she’s doing feel just a TINY bit better. 🤷♀️ What are you loving right now?? Show me!
Whit takes applying her oils pretty seriously 😂
We ran out of her daily immune support blend for this time of year so this morning she helped me whip up a new batch! 💧Recipe:
1 drop of each of the following in a 10 ml roller topped with FCO
She rolls that on the bottoms of her feet in the morning, before her nap and before bed! #immunesupport#bringitonwinter
Get #greenjuicing in January - don’t need to be on a detox to get those good nutrients in. Aim for balance in your lifestyle. I know it’s seems like a faff but it’s #immuneboosting and has an #alkalineeffect on your body. Check out my post (link in bio) on how to get juicing #gettheglow 💚 green juice di mystified 🌈💪
This kind of thing makes me really happy 😂 and also like oh well I'm never gonna make this much effort with Arjun's food but I'm glad there are people out there who do so I can appreciate it 😂😂😂 @darynakossar
A little oil safety as pertaining to your feline friends: You may love your oils and all the health benefits you are receiving from your oils that you want to share this love with your furry friend, right? Wrong! Most essential oils are actually extremely toxic to cats. A good, general rule of thumb is to always have at least ONE room in the house where you do not diffuse or spray oils. And never, ever diffuse in a room that your cat can't exit if the smell becomes too much. Don't leave your oils or oily creations open and unattended in a spot your kitty may be curious to check out and NEVER apply oils to your cat or their belongings. We have two healthy cats, happily living in an oily home. Just be careful and considerate. This is our cat, Moses 😎🌱❤️
So extra info about why you should eat more fabulous fungi!! 🍄 🌱.
Mushrooms contain 40 times more ergothioneine, than any other food. 🤩🤯 Ergothioneine is a recently discovered amino acid compound that is a potent antioxidant that protects our bodies from DNA damage 💪🏼🧠. It’s believed to be a new vitamin. Its made by microbes in the soil, but the most potent food source is mushrooms🍄🍄🍄.
White mushrooms have also been shown to improve and even help reverse breast cancer 😷by inhibiting 🛑 ✋ the enzyme that promotes cancer cell growth!!
Cooked white mushroom also reduce inflammatory states include arthritis, obesity, heart disease and diabetes🤒 😵. Studies demonstrate eating just 1 cup of regular white mushrooms daily (compared to eating no mushrooms) stimulated subjects bodies to make more immunoglobulin A (IgA) one of our bodies first line of defence mechanisms. The mushroom eating group had 50% higher IgA secretion, meaning greater immune function.🤸🏽♂️🤸🏼♀️
So there you go, add Swiss, Brown, button, portabello, enoki, shiitake or any other mushrooms to your meals today! 👅✨💚
