[Pune] There isn't much to say about #Onion rings and #fries , they're the undisputed heroes of #bar food🍻🤤 we paired our platter [₹290] with a Mint Mayo, Mango #Mayo and #Mustard Cheddar #dip ! Special shoutout to the mustard #cheddar dip, it was a delicious twist to just #cheese 👌🏻
What's better than being invited over and treated to home cooked food. Correction: Delicious home cooked food.
We spent last weekend with @juhic_ & @nithin304 and here's the 5-course deliciousness we devoured.
Nithin is great at starters. That evening, he put together a cheese platter with cranberry cheese, spicy cheese and his special - pineapple mint layered cheddar cheese. To go with this, he muddled some mint and lemon for a dark strong mojito, but hey, it was the weekend!
Next was one of his go to snacks - baked sweet potato topped with chicken ham, garnished with cream cheese & mustard. This was by far the best use of sweet potato I've seen, barring the fries of course.
Both of them love baking. Which is why the next dish by Juhi was baked chicken wings. Not ready-to-eat, these were all made from scratch, even the sauce. The wings were marinated in a lovely homemade honey bbq sauce and baked twice, adding more crispiness to the chicken. They were tossed in the sauce twice too. And wow, we did end up licking our fingers with that sweet and spicy mix.
Soon we realised it was not just the starters, but everything on their menu was homemade, even the dessert!
Ever since their trip to Greece last year, they have been BIG fans of the Greek bake Moussaka. We almost mistook it for lasagna, but learned later that it was made with layers of eggplant and ground beef, covered with homemade bechamel sauce, and topped with cheese. I honestly wish I could have brought it home with me. It was really that good.
After all that food, and a few more mojitos, we ended on a really high, I mean sweet note with fudge brownies. I sort of offended her by asking if the brownies were Betty Crocker. No, they weren't, and yes, they really matched that level. Extremely fudgy, chocolaty and perfectly sweet, we had these warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
