🎼A Woman of Valor, who can find? She is more precious than corals..... "Grace is elusive and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears God -- she shall be praised.
Give her credit for the fruit of her labors, and let her achievements praise her at the gates."
On the most basic level, "Eishes Chayil" is sung at every Shabbos table throughout the world in praise of Jewish women everywhere.
It has become a way of expressing gratitude to the lady of the house, for what is a more fitting time to sing her praises than on Friday night, after she worked tirelessly to ensure that the Shabbos Queen be greeted in royal fashion?
Yet there are many Midrashim that say the “Woman of Valor” does not refer to the generic praiseworthy woman. They claim "Eishes Chayil" refers to specific great Women in Jewish History, such as Rus. Others say this song is about the Shabbos Queen, and about the Torah, or the Shechinah.
Yet in truth, all of the explanations are interconnected. For it is the noble woman of the home, who makes the home into a Divine spiritual place - a haven for Torah, a place where our souls can flourish and is able to serve God. .
To all the Exhausted women out there: stay strong through the challenges, through the sleepless nights and the stress. Turn a blind eye to society, and connect to your roots, for there you will find that you are respected, valued and praised non-stop!
This Shabbos let's all raise a glass for Strong Women; L'chaim to us all!
Have a beautiful & rejuvenating Shabbos!
#Diversity : The concept of diversity encompasses acceptance and respect.
It means understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along the dimensions of #race , #ethnicity , gender, sexual orientation, age, physical abilities, #religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies. It is the exploration of these differences in a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
It is about understanding each other and moving beyond simple tolerance to embracing and celebrating the rich dimensions of diversity contained within each individual.
Turn your Venice #sightseeing into a scavenger hunt! Can you find the following (some things are easier to spot than others): #SaintMark , #wingedlion , two water pipes disguised as men holding jugs, seven happy #cherubim , and one guy who looks like he’s waving “hi”from behind two guys who look like they’re in a dance choreographed by Martha Graham. •
