Our nervous system is a giant sensory organ.

This simple pose is very restorative. Gravity assists here, returning the blood back to the heart which helps with our circulation, relieving sore legs, feet, calfs and hamstrings. It helps reduce our heart rate, allowing us to become calm and relaxed. It also assists with lower back and pelvic floor tension, as our muscles naturally release in this position.

To get into this pose, sit right up against the wall with either your left or right butt cheek touching the wall. From there, gently walk the feet up the wall. Use a pillow or blanket to help with your comfort in this position.

Rest like this for about 5 minutes for maximum benefits.

Today we learned the art of Gua Sha, a traditional Chinese skin scraping healing therapy. This method is used to increase blood flow, break up muscular adhesions, and decrease inflammation. I typically have stagnation and muscle tension in my traps, rhomboids, and subscap...this was my back after only a few minutes of treatment! I promise, it looks much worse than it feels😆

I couldn't do this pose until recently; I felt too vulnerable with my throat/neck exposed & would get pretty panicky & feel like I was choking. A few years ago, when I found my OWN voice, my own SELF, & began expressing myself with my own voice & communicating more effectively & making my own choices that were good, healthy, &  regulated for ME; only then, was I able to open this chakra/space in my body & give it space to be. It was such a relief!

Today I attended Module I TRE workshop in @homestudiorishpon at  @dariaeyal 's studio (beautiful space) with the fantastic, brilliant, sensitive, wise Fiona Soma & many other awesome special ppl @tompeled

I'm constantly amazed at how the more I learn, the less I know. We talked a lot about #socialengagement rather than #fight #flight #freeze ; states in which we are all in in much of our day-to-day living. By doing #TRE; releasing deep muscular/#fascia tension from our bodies through #neurogenic #tremors , we're able to bring our bodies & selves to homeostasis/a relaxation response. We're able to pause more; respond rather than react.

This allows us to interact in the world with a greater ability to manage stressful life experiences, and to connect in authentic and intimate ways with ourselves and others. Tremoring with others can sometimes make the experience more profound due to the phenomenon of group neurology, where our nervous systems subconsciously connect and feed off of each other’s energy. For all of you who called, and asked about what happened to them during and after the session... Well.. Yes.... yes... & yes it is all PERFECTLY normal... THE INTENSITY OF SHAKING/SOUNDS.. If the shaking is strong it is an indicator that the large muscles in the body are breaking up tension in the muscles. These tension blockages create strong shaking until they break up and the energy can flow more easily. Finer movements are equally important in reworking the tension holding patterns. For all of you who called, and asked about what happened to them during and after the session... Well.. Yes.... yes... & yes it is all PERFECTLY normal... THE INTENSITY OF SHAKING/SOUNDS.. If the shaking is strong it is an indicator that the large muscles in the body are breaking up tension in the muscles. These tension blockages create strong shaking until they break up and the energy can flow more easily. Finer movements are equally important in reworking the tension holding patterns. Been offline working hard but What a beautiful Sunday I had training and building new network of special women with golden souls sharing skilss building co fidence and artistically opening up in many ways not to mention when @cherellejay taught all of us her delicious choreo and opened up in a way I think many should as teachers friends and fellow women in today's society. I would love to also speak to many women I meet coach and connect with in such a way. Today inspired me to be more open on things I teach do say and show in general !. I'll be bk soon with videos from her choreo but for now have a blessed Sunday evening.
