I could state the obvious here, gaining weight, pushing through the struggle of eating more in a society constantly telling me to eat less, was definitely one of the hardest battles I've had to face; but there's so much more between these photographs than several years and 30lbs. There is so much more than going from a concave ass to strong glutes and a strong body overall. (I still don't have tiddies but we work with what we got fam 🥞) This is more a transformation from the inside out.

Over the past few years God has taught me to stop swimming in my own 💩 and humbled me beyond belief. Once I started separating my fears from reality, gathering perspective from literally throwing myself out there and REALLY experiencing the world, learning about other people, and focusing on taking responsibility for the outcomes given to me, I began to realize that over time, the negative emotions I was feeling dissipated and were replaced by positive ones, gratitude - things that should take up more space in my life.
.
Simultaneously I began to also take up more space, and I'm not ashamed or embarrassed to share my struggles and my faith in God. This all didn't come without struggle and doubt, though. We're all human, we all have issues, and if you're going through something right now, keep going. Allow yourself to feel those emotions, but work to make them minuscule compared to the other things in your life; you are a powerhouse and you were put on this earth to take up space.

I won't sit here and tell you I don't have days where I'd like to crawl out of my skin and have my head really far up my butthole, cause I do. Your struggles are all valid, don't ignore them. Share them, grow through what you go through. The devil thrives in secrecy and shame, you cannot. Life is a limited time offer, live accordingly. Live in your strength. 🖤

found a load of old photos of me the other day and they amazed me. I was so slim, almost lanky, I could see my abs but I hated myself. I thought it was disgusting. I was self harming and even looking at myself in the mirror too long would make me cry and break down. I think I weighed around 52-55kg when these were taken (Feb 2014) and now I weight about 67kg. I've gained a lot but honestly, I am so much happier mentally, I've found an activity I love, I've gained strength physically and I've gone through probably 4 patella dislocations and surgery since this photo and I'm proud of me. that's what's important. not some arbitrary number that is not a measure of self-worth or happiness

Although more & more research continues to prove exercising at moderate and high intensities is SAFE & BENEFICIAL for mom & baby, there are still SO many misconceptions & false beliefs about pregnancy & fitness. 🤰🏼🏋🏼‍♀️

So with today likely being my last day of pregnancy I thought it was important to touch on the subject and remind all my preggos & future preggos that just because you're pregnant - it does NOT make you powerless.

Unless you have absolute contraindications while pregnant exercising while preggo is ENCOURAGED & can be SO beneficial for both you and baby. 👶🏼The intensity you train at throughout your pregnancy is completely based upon your pre-pregnancy fitness level - which means EVERY WOMAN IS DIFFERENT! .

So please remember that you can almost always continue to train the exact same way you did pre-pregnancy with just the slightest modifications as your pregnancy progresses.

This means you can run, sprint, lift heavy weights, jump up and down, do HIIT cardio, walk, jog, do yoga , go swimming etc etc. If that's what your body was used to pre-pregnancy.

SO pls don't believe the old school limiting beliefs encouraging women to do nothing throughout their pregnancies... unless you have a medical contraindication , get that bump moving!! You will feel SO much better throughout your pregnancy & after !! On Tuesdays so many people post their best transformation photos and talk about losing weight and their massive changes. If it is time for you to make a change take it step by step. Nutrition is not about being perfect it is about having the proper balance and making smart choices. Most people are not getting anywhere near enough greens in their diet but they are eating all kinds of pizza, fried food and fast acting simple sugars. Change some of that out for Whole Foods (potato, rice, avocado) with asparagus or spinach on a regular basis and watch how fast your body transforms. It is all about baby steps leading to a big change. #transformation
