Feeling completely grateful to work from home on Thursday’s. This allows me to sleep in, have a homemade breakfast and to crush my 30 minute AT HOME workout during my lunch hour!
Best part is, my coworker Kim and I, worked out together “virtually”....having someone workout at the same time as you, at home, is just an incredible feeling (and accountability, hello)! We both accomplished our goal today and are feeling great!
Tag someone who is looking for wellness accountability! Our next virtual challenge group starts November 13th (think fitness/nutrition accountability, positive vibes and a whole group of women looking to live well). Click the link in my bio or shoot me a message to chat more 💪🏻👊🏻
To honor the autumnal shift, @thealchemistkitchen asked us to host a #pentopaper session on October 24th. We’ll link up with shaman and vibrational designer Sarah Rigano of @formandlight who’ll curate the space with elements of the natural world to support, inspire, and fuel our creative practice. Mezcal elixir cocktails will help too, provided by @gemandbolt. RSVP at the link up top and we’ll see you there.
If you ever visit Bolivia and want a little rush of adrenaline going through your veins, Yungas Road (more commonly known as Death Road) is where you must go. Once used by local trucks to transport goods from La Paz to Coroico, it is now a fun downhill mountain-bike ride that will satisfy your need for speed. For sure…
"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.” - Litany Against Fear: Dune
Today's #Metabolic10 workout was entitled Fear. Irony is a real thing friends. I wasn't feeling today's workout. I'm tired this morning, the Not Good Enough barged in this morning with the Low Fuel light in the car, and the workout called for a strength component using the weight rack and I have no idea how to use that beast. (Yet)
Instead I did 10 minutes of sprints, then 7 minutes of the Fear workout with 30 pound barbells until the NGE licked her finger and stuck it in my ear.
So I made up my own variation of the workout that I could more feasibly do:
13 minutes AsManyRepsAsPossible:
5 box jumps
10 weighted sit-ups
5 squat jumps
200 m row
Fix your eyes on the great perfecter of your faith.🎶
My life, my love, my drive it came from pain.🎶
Don't be so hard on yourself.🎶
Take those low moments and turn them around. Create the work that you can do, and love doing. We weren't built to be fearful but to create life. And remember, find that one small win and do it. Show the NGE the conqueror that is your beautiful, brave soul.
Goooooood Moooooorning! Thursday Morning, forgot to set my alarm for our group workout #fitbabebrigade 💤 slept in until 7 😱😂 enjoying this nice homemade "latte" and rereading the list of dreams I have. Last night I sat down with a group of awesome ladies and we wrote out what our perfect day would look like, our hopes and dreams. I got pretty choked up sharing mine. And I almost cried again this morning rereading them. But your WHY should make you CRY right? ❤️ all the feels this morning!
💕 Back to the jungle we go! Ok so it wasn’t REALLY a jungle but it felt like one compared to Colorado forests! It was SO cool hiking in Hawaii and really getting a feel for the land and incredibly cool differences it offers. Such fond memories!!!!! Next stop Rocky Mountains/home!🌴🌲
In Dublin, a must do is going to see the Book of Kells. The book itself is the oldest written version of scripture/new testimony. It’s beautiful preserved in color! As super cool as that is, after you see the book, you get to go to the Long Hall, pictured. It’s incredible to see so many rare books that make up this beautiful view! This is from our trip in August.
The kids were giddy to see if the coolest (largest and shallowest) of the 3 Hot Spring Pools actually contained real live fish. Apparently over the years people have abandoned their fish-tank pets to this pool and through its clear water one can see them teeming through its depths. If you hold still a few moments they may even give you a spa-treatment like experience as they nibble away your dead skin. My kids were hoping to catch a few and bring them home. After spotting a few choice specimens they ran back to the truck to get their swimsuits on. Their enthusiasm was not dampened by the fact they were about to jump into a pool of water with air temperatures of a breezy 49 degrees. #kidsarethebest#familylife#roadtrip#meadowhotsprings#utah#beutahful#adventureawaits#teamboucha#joymadessential
Sometimes taking the road less traveled isn't such a bad idea. It's not smooth, and more then likely will have some construction along the way. I'm traveling down my road now....and I have faith this is the turn I was destine to make.
Hello! Heather over here and I want to share a piece of myself with you today. I come from a conservative asian family with lots of aunts and uncles, which means, growing up there were a lot of opinions or standards of what I should do with my life. Our big extended family values highly of science and mathematics, so I just decided I will go with this flow because it was a *safe* option, even though I have always done well in Fine Arts, English Lit and History.
Looking back, I was so lucky that my parents were open minded and encouraged me to continue with painting throughout my childhood, but soon thereafter, I gave up painting completely for college and work. At one point, I thought I’ve lost my creativity forever. I did Statistics and Mathematical Proofing for 5 years, but I stumbled into this unexpected career as a creative director at @myrtleetolive + @larkandives and all of it just came back to me. Anything with an artistic nature flowed somewhat easily and I never would’ve thought I could combine my love for art into my life again (happy tears)
Sometimes in life you just don’t know when things will come around to benefit you later. So it's never too late to learn something new - just jump right in and do it! From one of my favourite quotes “You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future.” - Steve Jobs
When you stay curious, you might happen upon a quirky castle.
• While exploring said castle you might challenge a random giant wooden arm to an epic arm wrestling match. 🤔🙌🏾
• You might also discover that you’re not so afraid of heights after all as you climb up and walk around the freaky outdoor wrought iron walkways. Just remember to breathe though... 😅
• It’s a beautiful thing to be curious, I say. You ought to give it a try sometime...😉💕
