Today was a day. Like, whoa. Ollie squirmed when I picked him up, but screamed when I put him down. He refused to eat anything but apple slices at dinner. And he whined pretty much all day. Among about a million other things. But man, it’s amazing how much you can love this tiny little human even on the worst days.
My bedtime buddies. Melt away the day with @lush Ultrabland Facial Cleanser, all the nourishment and calmness your skin deserves. I like to take a few minutes when using this to really massage all the ingredients into my skin before rinsing off with a warm flannel. I've then been massaging @thebodyshop Grapeseed Firming Scrub into my forearms and hands while at the sink as these are pretty much the only skin I show during the winter months so I want them healthy and glowing.
This little lady is now acting more herself. She's playing with her toys more and definitely has her appetite back. She really doesn't like the antibiotics though and Alfie bloody hates it! We are now trying to get back into a routine as bedtime is completely messed up at the moment... I feel like we have a weeks worth of sleep to catch up on. I definitely need to invest in a good eye cream after this week. My eye bags are horrendous 😱#mummyslittlegirl#3yearsold#bedtimeroutine#magicofchildhood#bloggermum
I love reliving my childhood through her... When I saw The Faraway Tree in the library I jumped with excitement as it used to be my favourite read as a child. It was also perhaps my first 'novel' with no pictures that I read that made me feel so grown up. So every night for our bed time story I read her a bit of this book and we are immersed into the magical adventures of Moonface and Saucepan Man with both of us eagerly awaiting what happens next...
Cooking dinner and I turn around to see this little one out for the count! Her bed time is 7pm but this was taken at 6pm, bless her! Unfortunately she woke up about 15 minutes after I transferred her to her bed 🙄 I really don’t know what to do with her at the moment. Her sleep is so erratic and she wakes up soooo many times in the night and it’s really wearing me out 😰 Has anyone got any advice to sorting this out once and for all, because I cannot DEAL with the hourly wake up calls anymore!
📚Story time before bed 📚
One of the benefits of a consistent bedtime routine is the opportunity to connect with your child, one-to-one. Storytelling forms a vital part of sleep time routines and helps both the parent and child to calm down and unwind after a busy day. 😴

What is your goodnight routine? I need something to look forward to at night, I am often on the hunt for dark chocolate or a hot drink. I try to keep sweet teas in the cupboard, lovely teas (not boring supermarket ones) so that becomes my wind down/sit down habit instead of starting to snack on the kids treats! Tonight it's from @smartea.co.nz, the new taste is great, it's got all natural ingredients for calming, and with a bit of stevia leaf for sweetness, it's YUMMY.
I also go through a routine to start switching my body off, I put on my comfy slippers and put a low light lamp on. What do you do?
Sweet dreams 😴
Omgosh you guys, these two products mixed together smell SO amazing. If you’ve never tried Lush Charity Pot lotion I highly recommend you check it out. It’s perfect for dry skin, not to mention proceeds go towards helping sustainable farming. I like mixing some HD Clear in areas besides my face that tend to start breaking out when I’m working out daily (like running for the train at 6am 🙄). Together they’re seriously heavenly with a citrusy earthy scent. Can’t believe I didn’t discover this sooner!
Forehead to knees *dreamy sleepy nighty snoozey snooze* lovely pre-bedtime assana 💜
Keep your pelvis flat on the ground, don't let your taulbone start to curl up. Point your toes to the ceiling to engage the muscles in your legs, resting your hands lightly on your knees, use your abdominal to bring your forehead toward your knees. Don't pull/force! It doesn't matter how close you can get your forehead to your knees, you've gotta keep those shoulders relaxed, pelvis down and BREATHE slow, deep breaths, as deep down into your belly as you can. Enjoy 🕉
