I, myself, have been guilty of this for far too long! and there may be moments when I slip up in the future and fall back to getting sidetracked, yes, I am human in today's society. However, events like tonight's jolt my heart and soul. I know I'm exactly where I am supposed to be, with my hands on a precious gift. people will overlook the power and simplicity of our mission or coin it for being 'just another one of those things' but one cannot delete the endless piling of powerful stories that are shared through our community, NOR deny the published research from top universities around the world! I first saw this quote shared by the lovely @hannah_cockrell and honestly, it changed me. Suddenly I had so much more clarity about what I want and how I'm going to get there: by DOING it, one day at a time! This is my new life motto, and I don't see it changing any time soon...if ever. ♡
I took the time to sit down and write out on my blog exactly how my life is changing, and what my desires and personal goals are. It was empowering and I feel much more confident after allowing myself to admit that these are the things I care about most; these are the things that drive me. Here's the list from my post, in no particular order:
- a neat, clearly defined personal and interior design style using natural, renewable materials and resources as much as possible; I like jewel tones, cool neutrals, and minimalist themes
- a more refined, polished, and centered character; this includes being a true friend and humble human, with a mindful awareness of my community and its needs
- determined and unrelenting spirituality that defies circumstance and/or my mental and emotional state
- a deeper appreciation of and respect for international cultures
- consistently supporting, encouraging, honoring, cherishing, and loving my spouse for everything he is and everything he does
- parenting with love, patience, dedication, and purpose
- ultimately leaving the world a better place for having lived in it

OnGuard AND Frankincense have definitely been my saving grace this flu season. 😷 I personally have been able to semi- dodge the craziness of this terrible flu season. The last time I felt under the weather was in November, after starting a @Whole30 reset. I was definitely detoxing, and my body was withdrawing from sugar, dairy, stimulants and grains. Since then, I have consumed wheat, gluten, dairy and refined/processed sugars in only a bite-sized amount (taste testing 😂) or not at all. I load up regarly on immune boosting elderberry, zinc, vitamin c, vitamin d, probiotics, etc. I feel my best living this way, and I've skipped over the colds my kindergartener has brought home. Anyway! Here is what I've done or do with my @doterra essential oils to keep the nasty bugs away. 🌱 Diffuse a couple of drops of OnGuard in your cool mist diffuser

Packed up a simple lunch of a delicious Chile Lime Burger (recipe by @paleoglutenfreeeats) with a side of Brussels sprouts + avocado, and for dinner Creamy Avocado Pesto “Noodles” (recipe from the same place!) with Buttery Garlic Herb Chicken 🍗 (by @alyssa_therecipecritic) all @whole30approved and all super filling and delicious!
@pinterest is 💯 percent my best friend for meal prep these days, and it doesn’t hurt that I’m also adding to my list of incredible recipe bloggers to keep up with 👏🏼
Today was about was about showing grace to sweet babes and myself. We are going stir-crazy with the cold weather and all that comes with it, adjusting to a new normal as a family of 4 with a toddler and newborn, and working to build community with those near and far- and this picture is such a good reminder that it is our true inner self that should be valued above all else, to work on #innerbeauty daily and to encourage that in others. #grace
⚡AND WHAT LABEL are YOU trying fit into these days?⚡ To be more feminine? To be a gym girl? To be more sociable and charismatic? To be less nerdy? 👉🏽So often, we take try SO HARD to mold into what we think is the idea. We go to great lengths to fill that mold. We feel BAD about ourselves if we're labelled with something that might come off as "negative". Growing up, I was a tomboy. I still am. I honestly don't really know how to put on makeup. I barely know how to curl my hair. It's just not in my wheelhouse. Now society could definitely label me as 'NOT feminine enough'. 🤔But what if we took the time to recognize within ourselves AND in others that we can be fucking anything? You don't have to be labelled, distilled into a single facet. More importantly, you don't have to mold yourself into what label you think is "right". You DON'T have to try to fit into the perfect ideal or the perfect shot or the perfect Instagram feed.
You DO have to be you. Be unapologetically you. Be someone who likes to hike and sometimes likes to wear a magenta-y dress, but mostly lounges around in all-gray-sweat-pj-outfits while eating cereal for dessert (heheh ME). ALWAYS, YOU DO YOU. 🙌😉
Whether it’s dancing like fools or snowshoeing in Vermont, we know how to have fun.
Sometimes it’s ok to let go and reset.
Doing so helps you recharge your mental batteries and will actually help you perform better when you need to.

Good things take time and consistent action. Each day, I made the decision today to put great nutrition into my body. I decided I wasn’t going to settle for living in a body I didn’t love. On November 22 2015, I started the greatest journey. Over to years later and I still put that amazing nutrition into my body everyday.
These days, I am not trying to lose or maintain any weight goals. I am using this nutrition to fuel my body with the best nutrition for myself and my baby! .

if you asked me to describe myself using one word while growing up during my #childhood and #teenageyears , that word would be #timid . I was as #shy as they come. so shy I could barely make #eyecontact with anyone for longer than a few seconds. now while I've #committed myself to work on this every time I talk or listen to someone, I first had to figure out #WHY this was always such a #challenge for me. 🤔
I've grown to #love being around people, especially the RIGHT people, over recent years. I think a lot of you #thrive around #likeminded people because it's natural and they bring out the best in you, but how do you hold/present yourself when you have to make an important #firstimpression to someone new? 🤝
for me, it boiled down to 2 things: #confidence and #peopleskills . maybe I struggled with these because I grew up an #onlychild ? whatever the case may be, I knew it needed work and I'm the only one who can fix it. 🧠
I think confidence and people skills go hand-in-hand. they feed off of each other. this is obviously much easier said than done and it will take time to develop, but you have to be very #honest and #upfront with yourself about who you CURRENTLY are and the person you want to BECOME. 💭
are you comfortable with yourself? are you confident with yourself around other people? if you aren't, what are you doing every day to build up your self confidence? this will take you places you've never imagined. but you can't do it for other people, you have to do it for YOU! ❤️
