Lentil Rangoli for Sankranti, the South Indian harvest festival! #sankranti #lohri #bhogi #muggu #harvestseason #harvest #harvestfestival #Indianfestival #Indian #India #lentils
Bhogi is the first day of the four-day Pongal festival. According to the Gregorian calendar it is normally celebrated on 13 January but sometimes it is celebrated on 14 January. In Tamil Calendar, this corresponds to last day of the Tamil month Maargazhi. It is a festival celebrated widely in Tamil Nadu,Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

On Bhogi, people discard old and derelict things and concentrate on new things causing change or transformation. At dawn, people light a bonfire with logs of wood, other solid-fuels and wooden furniture at home that are no longer useful. The disposal of derelict things is where all old habits, vices, attachment to relations and material things are sacrificed in the sacrificial fire of the knowledge of Rudra, known as the "Rudra Gita Jnana Yajna". It represents realisation, transformation and purification of the soul by imbibing and inculcating various divine virtues. Pogi is celebrated the day preceding Thai Pongal and Makar Sankranti. It is also being said that Buddha died in bogi pongal at the time when Buddhism was practicing in all over India .

Going beyond mere words of solace,  Sadhguru imparts the yogic sciences, empowering individuals to transform their  lives and take their destiny into their hands.

Sadhguru embodies all paths of yoga kriya (energy), bhakti(devotion), gnana (knowledge), and karma (action) which allows him to mix the “right cocktail” for each individual, who is a  unique combination of these four. So whether it is a villager of rural India or  a corporate chief executive, Sadhguru is available to every human being.

Sadhguru has often said that “society is overripe for a spiritual process”, because despite today’s  technological advances, which have bestowed much of humanity with luxuries and  comforts, most human beings still remain in search of wholeness and purpose in  their lives. Over the last three decades, Sadhguru has worked ceaselessly  towards revitalizing the ancient spiritual sciences that have formed the fabric  of India’s cultural ethos.

It is Sadhguru’s vision to offer one-drop of  spirituality to every human being, to ensure that each individual can  experience the deepest core of life within. . .

Muuuuh.....!🐮🐄 .
Mrs. Lakshmi  came with her calf to visit our home along with a man, Mr.Kanakaiah
.
I knew Lakshmi from her young age, she loves veggies & Siva used to deliver a litre of cow milk for us. She used to give me a look every single morning. ..! That LOOK could speak volumes, which conveyed a sense of closeness!
.
A few days later we shifted houses.. 😔. Thought I would never see her again! .
All of a sudden.....there she is.... all grown up & beautiful ❤🐮🌹. Kanakaiah said that Meena(the calf) has born 2days ago & they came to give the colostrum milk cheese. 🙄Meena was sooo cute & a bit shy 🤗.
.
Hehe 🙂 I tried to capture all of them but look at Lakshmi, she got soo excited & didn't allow no one else to be in the photograph ❤🐮.

#Tamizhar Thirunaal, the festival of Tamil People.✊ Thai #Pongal is a harvest festival dedicated to the Sun🌞. The day marks the start of the sun's six-month-long journey northwards (the Uttaraayanam). Thai Pongal is mainly celebrated to convey appreciation of a successful harvest🌿. Part of the celebration is the boiling of the first rice of the season and feed it to the bulls.
