I have finals in less than 2 weeks and people are sick in this house. I ain’t got time for that! Boosting up the immune system with @planttherapy essential oils. I’ll swap back and forth between putting germ fighter on my body and diffusing immune aid. 
@bioticsnw comes to the aid with a huge dose of vitamin D, 250% zinc, nearly 4g of vitamin C, chlorocaps (chlorophyll) and thymus glandular. Your thymus gland is the training ground of your T cells in your immune system ( now if I can just remember that next week🤔) and so it’s crucial for fighting off infections. 
I’ll be keeping up this routine daily over the next few days, along with lots of healthy nutrient dense foods to insure my body has what it needs to defend itself.

An awesome way to stimulate your vagus nerves is with a 5-minute ice bath (neck submerged and head dipped at beginning and end) followed by a power flex and warrior yell. Nothing like a little superhero dress-up for all Hallows Eve! Making great progress on the cut. Down 5lbs, and lifting heavy as hell as done a great job of maintaining muscle mass. All lifts have gone up this week, getting close to all-time P.R.s on the Deadlift, Overhead Press, and Bench Press.

Cuts take time and patience, for those of you dieting, remember to keep Consistent, keep the weights heavy, keep the protein & CARBS (YES CARBS) as high as possible when in deficit. Use nutrient timing to your advantage and utilize your carbs around and during your workouts to maximize performance.

This is Week 5. Can't wait to see what the progress will be come Week 16. Everyone have a great Halloween weekend. Have a an Epic time, stay safe, and keep to the grind!

Thylakoids increase the the level of appetite-reducing hormones like glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and reduces grehlin, the hunger hormone. You know that feeling when you’re hungry and your stomach starts growling? That’s grehlin at work.

Although it’s best to eat actual spinach to get all the nutrients, studies of overweight adults have show that adding 4-5 grams of spinach extract to a meal reduces appetite for several hours. There is some research that suggests that tart cherry juice is a powerful drink that could reduce inflammation, oxidative stress and muscle soreness and as a side note improve your sleep because it contains the sleep hormone melatonine.

The sweet spot seems to be at about 50 Montmorency tart cherries or 30ml of concentrated juice twice a day and you need to build up your cherry juice "stores" over a couple of days. Don't expect wonders after your first shot. 
Caution! If you are in full hypertrophy mode it may be better to stay away from this "superfood" because it could reduce the muscle damage you inflict upon your body with your workouts.

I think everybody has seen countless pictures of athletes sitting happily in ice baths after training or some of you even enjoyed the pleasure of the cold himself. Which is awesome for recovery!

When you put your body through a hard training session you produce a lot of stress and raise your acute inflammation markers. Cold thermogenesis reduces said inflammation markers and helps you to recover more quickly.

So shouldn't I get into the cold as quickly as possible then? Well. Yes and no.

If you shut inflammation down too quickly you also stun hyperthrophy aka muscle growth. And if you want a bigger, better body you propably also want all the muscle growth you can get.

If you wait with the cold shower, ice bath or maybe even cryotheraphy for 3-4 hours after your training session you should get the best combination of both.

One of the easiest hacks you can use to sail calm through hectic times or recover more quickly from the stress a hard training puts on your body is a simple breathing technique called box breathing (or four-square breathing). Box breathing not only calms down your mind  but also has the nice effect that it downregulates the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight mode) and helps activate the parasympathetic nervous system (rest and digest mode). Which is the fancy way of saying that regular box breathing practise after training helps your body switch to recovery mode a lot faster than normal.

Alright. So, how do you do it? Well, if you can count to four it shouldn't be too hard. Just inhale for four seconds, hold your breath for four seconds, release it to a count of four and again hold your breath for four seconds until you inhale again for four seconds. And then you repeat that for a couple of minutes. One minute is good, four minutes are better. Everything after that is a nice bonus which you can continue as long as you feel like it.

Beware. If you have never tried any breathing exercises you can experience dizziness. If that happens stop and build up your stamina slowly over the next days or weeks.
