That’s a wrap on the Bulletproof Biohacking Conference! It was an incredible 3 day event jam-packed with presentations and products from industry leaders, all dedicated to total human optimization. Oh, and A LOT of free Bulletproof Coffee (which I could not drink #aipstruggles )

One theme of the conference that surprised me was ✨gratitude✨ I have to admit I wasn’t expecting that to be the focus at a Biohacking event, but every morning, @dave.asprey got on the stage and asked us to set or revisit our intentions for the conference and share our gratitude 💕

If you don’t have a daily gratitude practice, start today! Whether it’s writing something in a notebook or sharing what you’re grateful for with a friend or partner, this practice has a hugely positive impact on your mindset, which in turn, has a powerful impact on your body and your health!

On another note, here are some things I’ll be doing differently based on what I learned at the conference:
👉🏻 turning my WiFi off at night (to minimize EMFs)
👉🏻 keeping my phone off my body as much as possible (again, EMFs)
👉🏻 be stricter about my intermittent fasting window (fasting is so important)
👉🏻 getting more direct sunlight first thing in the AM (to wake up and set hormone cycles)
👉🏻 testing my gut microbiome with @myviome kit!
👉🏻 ETC

🏋️Monday Motivation - Take Accountability!!!💪

Another Monday upon us, and yet another great rule to success by Simon Sinek.

Today's post in Taking Accountability. Sometimes the one with the problem is the one staring at you in the mirror. Rather than complain and look for others to blame, accept your own mistakes, and rather than react irrationally, think logically, and look for a solution.
•
In today's world you have to be adaptable to the challenges and curve balls thrown your way. When somethings wrong or things aren't going your way, take that as an opportunity to change what is within you, and improve. Always working hard, always self-improving. If you're not losing weight in your fitness program, assess your diet, track your calories, maybe you're eating or drinking too much. You don't have enough time to get your work done, or fit in time for fitness, grab a pen/paper, write a schedule, and get better at time management. Always look for the solution, and make yourself better.

So take some accountability. Go after what you want. And make it happen. Coach P Out.

We've gone back and forth with the effectiveness of Intermittent Fasting and how it's no better than other diets for weight loss. However, emerging evidence is beginning to show eating in a TIME RESTRICTED WINDOW may carry numerous health benefits, including weight loss.

👨‍⚕️ Dr. Satchin Panda, professor at the Salk Institute, works with Circadian rhythm science and talks about the effects of our habits on every cell in the body that run on a clock. His research is starting to show that WHEN WE EAT may actually be very important for overall health.
• 📋One study was run looking at groups of rats eating a high fat diet. One group ate within a non restricted window and another group being restricted to 12 hours feeding window, and another for 9. All groups received the same number of calories!!!
•
🐭 Where the group of mice who ate whenever GAINED FAT MASS and saw NO HEALTH IMPROVEMENTS,  In the mice who we're restricted to 12 hours..the researchers saw..
•Decreases in FAT MASS
•Increases in Muscle Mass
•Improvements in Glucose Tolerance •Reduction in Inflammation, improved lipids
•Increased Mitochondrial Volume (aerobic benefits!)
•
🤔 Conclusions drawn could show that eating within a Time Restricted window could be very beneficial for the overall health and potential for weight loss.

Came across an awesome TED talk recently given by @simonsinek in his Qualities for Success speech. The quality that stuck out the most to me was OutDo Yourself.

He speaks about how you're either an finite player who competes with others, or an infinite player who competes with themselves.

It's more important to focus on how to make yourself better today than what you were tomorrow. Understanding that sometimes your ahead and sometimes you're not. That's life. That's how you grow.

He speaks about how it's not about the likes, the profile views, the number of followers you have, it's all about outdoing yourself.
•
Make sure the work you're doing is better than what you produced before. That ensures you can contend with the competition and truly bring joy.
•
He says it's because joy comes not from comparison but from you're advancement. Strong and wise words to live by. Give it some thought, face the one standing in the mirror, and get after it.
