Loving my new SomniLight warm light book lamp. If you cut out your exposure to the blue light spectrum (think morning sunrise...most electronics and light bulbs are mostly blue light) an hour before going to sleep you will increase your melatonin production and get better sleep. I use BluBlocker glasses and then once I'm in the bed and all lights are out but want to read to wind down, I use this booklight. There are tons of red/warm light (think sunset) products out there. #blockbluelight#bettersleep#biohacking#truckHER#trucker#nightnightduringtheday
This is my Whatup gangsta face ☺ but really it should be my yeah I'm a nerd I wear blue blocking glasses 👓 face.
But you know what...? I can without doubt say these really do help me sleep at night. They have also have helped speed up the jet lag phase since returning from holidays.
Chronic blue light exposure from TV's mobiles and computer screens drastically reduce our melatonin levels. .
When we have low levels of this it makes it hard to fall asleep and stay asleep. As an owner of an online business I spend a good chunk of the day and night staring at a computer screen. Before using these I would get into bed and be PINGING my mind would race and my sleep patterns would be intermittent and restless.
Melatonin is a powerful antioxidant which helps "cool down" excess inflammation in the body. And also on another note I need serious amounts of beauty sleep👹😂
If you want to find out more about why avoiding blue light is actually good for you check out my last blog post. Or you can grab yourself a pair from here 👇
At night, cover your skin and most importantly your eyes from artificial light. These glasses by TrueDark block every frequency of light that suppresses melatonin production, the anti-aging, anti cancer hormone and DHA driver. Most chronic neolithic diseases we see today are a result of the circadian rhythm being backwards. A deficiency of melatonin at night and cortisol and daytime hormones during the day is the issue. Most people are giving their brains the exact opposite signals at the worst possible times and experiencing suboptimal results. Shower filter first, then drinking water, then light and grounding.
Blue light can affect your circadian rythm , by inhibiting melatonin production . Im putting this ones in bed and bath room 😁
⚠️ NEW BIOHACK FOR IPHONE USERS. ‼️ _____________________________________________________ ▫️Do you use your phone a lot after sunset? Excessive blue-enriched light emitted from your smartphone stimulates wakefulness and the secretion of stress-related hormones associated with inflammation, low energy, poor glucose regulation, poor cognition and delayed release of melatonin. Delayed Melatonin release will result in poor quality sleep.
▫️ 'Night shift' mode is a biohack that Apple installed into a recent IOS update. While it does a half good job blocking some of the blue light frequencies, it is not effective enough to decrease the harmful effects. .
▫️Here we give you a tutorial on how to setup your iPhone so it blocks a lot more of the blue light emitted from your phone. Setting your phone up like this + wearing a good pair of blue-light blocking glasses, should equip you with tools to safely use your phone, in the evenings and throughout the day, without disrupting your sleep quality.
What my nights tend to look like... 😄
Blue light turns you up and ON, red light turns you down and OFF.
Block blue light at night and antidote the effects of blue light all day from electronics with a red lamp. I use a red FIR bulb that i got on amazon with a fixture for it (make sure to have the correct fixture as it can be a fire hazard). Helps to turn me off and get me in the mood to sleep.
I also use Vielight (810nm) to help to stimulate the production of melatonin at night as well as promote circulation in brain. Save 10% with community discount code "healingtogether" at www.vielight.ca
I block blue light from my eyes with specific blue blocking glasses that have been university studied and confirmed to block 99.9% of blue light (not all glasses are created equal). Save 5% off these already inexpensive blue blockers at www.blueblockglasses.com with code "healingtogether"
Junk and blue light when I need to wind down doesn't work for me! Small changes can make a difference in getting restorative sleep 😴. Without quality sleep, we tend to gain weight, show signs of premature aging and feel less energetic than we want. Using blue light blocking glasses, filters on phone/computer, light bulbs 💡 like these along with a good sleep routine can make a difference in how we feel and look. Wishing all a restful night. 🌜For more visit practicalbeautifullife.com. #practicalbeautifullife
Yup, one of those people. You'd think my nose would hold them up!
I bought these from a small Aus startup when they came out. They helped/help immensely with my sleep cycle and eye pain which was suffering for multiple reasons.
I now ensure to filter all my tech. using f.lux and don't see how I could go back. It really takes the strain off my eyes while on the laptop and i domt have to worry about blue light telling my brain to syay up for two more hours than intended.
I also bought a pair for my bro which actually actually helped him get some rest during his month's stay in hospital due to harmful fluorescent lights.
If a less dorky, cost efficient version come out in Aus. please let me know!
Want to look like Arnold? Our friend @mamalee__ made this great photo wearing her Swannies @swanniesglasses she's using them to help with a concussion after the doctor asked her to get a pair of blue blockers. She just happened to have these as a free gift from our TEDx talk earlier this year where they were given to all the speakers. Blocking blue light at night can help you sleep. #blockbluelight
