하얀보석이뭔지알아마칠수있어묘? 자세히 답을 주시는 첮번제 분한테 선물 드려요! Can you guess what these white "gemstones" are? But you have to be veeery specific. The winner will win a free jewelry item tbd. Probably an orbit ring or if you'd rather, a gift card for the equal amount of an orbit ring in my etsy shop!
EDIT: We have a winner. @Luisadada got it right. These lovely creamy colored gems that look like white roses or gardenias are actually cow joint bones from a traditional Korean healing beef broth soup called 곰탕 gomtang that my mother made to heal me after a surgery. I love to use what people think of conventionally as garbage in my jewelry. I think these bones are beautiful and I thank the cow whose meat and bones contributed to heal me. I do feel bad that I still eat meat but I am grateful. This is a tribute to the circle of life we live in. Please understand that I am not making a political statement nor is this about the animal farming industry. I am grateful to the healing and nourishment these bones and the cow it came from gave me. I do not think its bones are garbage after I have finished eating and getting from them. I want to show how garbage, when looked at with new eyes, can be transformed by our perception into gemstones. The ostensibly "garbage" and unfulfilling life that you are living now is also filled with treasure and blessings if you can see it anew from a different angle of gratitude and wonder. .
Got them #ulnae again!
I have been so excited to get back to the simple classic necklaces that I started making so many years ago that really kicked off the bone jewelry obsession for me. These will be listed, as well as a few more that I have in the making. Moonstone of course.
I ended up finding a new way to hang them. I found the simple bail that mounts up on the back and it’s made my life so much easier. I can finally put the stones to use.
99% of the stones used are from @maya_crystals_store. Check out the group through Facebook :) If you’re interested in anything you see here and it’s not in the shop, feel free to shoot me a message. #bonenecklace#bonejewelry#ulnanecklace#taxidermyjewelry#labradorite#crystal#agate
