It can be really hard to love your body. I've always been a very body positive person and tried not to stress about my appearance including my weight. Lately something new is happening though, I look in the mirror and I'm proud. Proud of how hard I'm working, not to look better, but to feel better and be healthier. Proud of sticking to it and being flexible enough to find something that works for me. Proud that despite all the shitty things people have said to me about being overweight I didn't let that define me or make me feel like I couldn't do this. 
I couldn't do this without Instagram. Maybe that sounds silly but it's really been the best way for me to stay accountable! Sharing my workouts with all of your helps me stay motivated to keep walking everyday, even when I'm tried or cranky. It helps me feel motivated to start again even if I miss a day.

When I started walking I could only do about 1.5 miles a day and that was a HUGE workout for me. Now I do about 3.5-4 miles a day. heyyyyaaaa... lots of people on the internet like to argue about how weight loss works. Some say you need to go low carb or you won't lose weight. Some say you need to eat super low fat. Others say you need to go #vegan. And yet others say you need to do keto and eat nothing but animal flesh to blast the fat off your body.

💯 The truth, however, doesn't lie within the personal beliefs of devout diet followers but within the science of energy balance.

When you exercise, you expend more energy. And when you eat fewer calories than you burn, you actually use energy that's stored in your body (your love handles, spare tire around your waist, etc), which is known as body fat.

You're using energy every single day during your daily activities, exercise, and even when your body is merely functioning to stay alive (heartbeat, cell turnover, breathing, repairing tissues, etc).

Look, before I go into this, there are no *bad* or *good* foods, relatively speaking. But certain foods are better than others when you look at nutrient density, water content, fiber, texture, etc...

And if you're trying to lose fat, it's best to get the most nutritious foods as often as possible because, by default, you're eating less than normal. -
So0o0o0o you want to make the most out of what you're eating so you're not missing out on nutrition.

Also... some foods are really good for making you full and others are very easy to overeat on.

✅ The best carbs ( on the left) are things like fresh fruit, vegetables, potatoes, tubers, some grains (rice, quinoa, buckwheat, corn) and there are more but this is the gist of it.

❌ The worst carbs (on the right) are things like soda, candy, pop tarts, cereal, bread, sugar, and pretty much any junk food you can think of. Pretty much what all the #IIFYM people boast about. -
The reason is not only that these foods are low in nutrition but because they're way easier to overeat on than things like fruit, veggies, and potatoes. Most of these simple, processed foods contain very little fiber and/or water, so getting full on these foods is much harder.

And if you have ANY EXPERIENCE with dieting, you know how hungry you are and how easy it is to lose control when you have a bite of a cupcake or snack food that's super sweet and salty.

Ya gal made some roasted chickpeas faaaamm. So good! And it's not even down to me, I just sprinkle da tings and bung 'em in the oven. Today's ingredients:
• Chickpeas
• Salt
• BBQ seasoning (Tesco)
• Mild chilli powder (Schwartz)
• Paprika
• Garlic 
Just give everything a stir in a bowl or in the baking tin (no oil required), put them in at 190/175 fan for 30 minutes and you're done! Low fat, plenty of fibre, all natural, and vegan. Calories depend on how much you can jam in ya gob! 😂

The picture does NO justice but I have 34 g of peanuts (which I could destroy in no time) and about 140g of wrap that gave me significantly longer snacking time :-) Low carb wrap, low fat salami, deli ham, siracha, leafy greens, 20g avacado, and thinly slice cheese. 🙌🏻👏🏻 not gonna lie.... Heute hat mein Arzt mich angerufen ob ich ihr nicht die Nummer von meinem Frauenarzt geben kann da ich ja seid 2 Wochen die Anti Baby Pille nehme (Ich nehme sie um meine Periode wieder zu bekommen, die seid 2 Jahren ausgeblieben ist) weil ich ja Wasser im Herzen habe und sie fragen wollte ob die Pille Auswirkungen auf mein Herz hat und Joa. Sie hat dann eben gerade noch einmal angerufen und meinte das meine Frauenärztin im Urlaub ist und ich desshalb morgen nochmal zum Kardiologen soll und er sich mein Herz noch einmal anschauen soll..Also ich hätte nichts dagegen die Pille wieder abzusetzen denn sie zeigt nur schlecht Nebenwirkungen (Wassereinlagerungen, emotionale ausbrüche, Müdigkeit, Depressionen) aber ich hoffe wirklich das ich durch sie meine Periode wieder bekommen werde😩

2 tsp taco seasoning
1 tablespoon mustard 
3 tsp parsley flakes 
A pinch of salt 
1 tablespoon olive oil 
Mix the mustard, taco seasoning, parsley flakes and salt together in a small bowl. 
Cut the chicken in to fillets. Spread the paste evenly around the chicken and let it marinate for 15 minutes. 
In a non stick pan, heat the oil and grill the chicken. 
One serving: 96.25g = 202 calories. 
For one serving: 
Separate the chicken for one serving. Take one cup cooked whole wheat penne pasta. Put the pasta in the same pan that you cooked the chicken so it gets some flavor. 
Serve chicken with pasta and 90g raw carrot (or season it along with the penne). Drizzle half a lemon on top. 
Total calories per one serve (chicken+ penne + carrots+ lime) = 444 calories.
