Going through my old Transformers satchel from the 80s, found these drawings of Mark Hughes, Peter Reid and someone that I actually had to look up because I’ve got no memory of drawing him, turns out it’s Paul Canoville who once played for Chelsea. Read a little about his story, suffered lots of racist abuse from Home fans, retired from football in his early 20s due to injury, cancer beater and a dad to many kids! Weird how things turn out sometimes... #football#legends#mufc#memories#childhood#life
Dropped by #Karamunsing and saw this old childhood memory of mine. #screwdiet I decided on the spot. There's just no way for me to pass this one.
Lovely #kayaball . Grilled to golden crispy texture with steaming Kaya filling. It brings back the time when I was still innocent, naive, hopeful and cheerful.
Maybe I'd change, but this small local snack is still a great way to go back to the time I used to believe in Doraemon.
(Blog) As I blindly ride in the town of Kep, I saw a sign for a cave pointing towards a beaten path off the main road. Without hesitation, I flipped on the turn signal and swirled onto the dirt path. After 10 mins of avoiding bumps and potholes, a group of 5-10 year-old boys ran after me and were yelling "cave this way!" while pointing to a fork in the road that I apparently missed. I laughed, turned my bike around, and drove off as I high-fived one of the kids. Another 5 minutes later, two of the boys caught up to me in a bicycle and said "Can we be your guide?". I didn't want a guide, and in hindsight I didn't need one either. Also, it is my default answer to say "no thank you" as a full time tourist. "Ya sure come along!" I said. To hell with it they are only kids, I thought. So we rode together side-by-side, chit-chated in broken English, and explained for the millionth time on this trip why I look Chinese/Korean/Japanese but I'm from Canada. .
The cave didn't blow my mind, I've seen better in Thailand. Nevertheless, the calcite formations and the purple-shaded dirt in the cave were worth to be marveled at. As we trekked through the cave, we stopped at a weirder looking rock. I lowered my camera, expecting the boys to explain to me some history or science related to this rock. What do they really know about calcite and crystalization, I thought, they are kids. "This is a dragon!", the smaller boy yelled. I paused, turned my head around, and in 90 degrees angle, and finally saw the dragon, it was so obvious! "Ahhh yes a dragon ha ha ha", I said. The rest of the tour went just like this. After the dragon was an octopus, a whale tail, a giant mushroom, an elephant ear, an eel head, Buddha's blood as they pointed at the purple dirt, and more dragons. I have to admit I struggled to follow them, and got a little frustrated and envious. Maybe because to me they are cool calcite formations with years of scientific process, but to them it is their Narnia full of mythical creatures and magical adventures.
I began to wonder when did I lose the creative imagination that I once had when I was a little boy?
