Today was a cardio day for me. After a couple of days pushing the weights, as well as a rest day, it felt good to jump around a little!
It's not always easy to push play, but I always know how good I'll feel when I'm done. It's worth the effort!
Being fit and healthy takes some hard work. Being unwell and neglecting our nutrition and fitness brings its own hardships. I am striving to choose the challenge that enhances my life and improves my wellness!

"I hate to waste my oils!!" One of the main reasons I don't like to take risks mixing into my diffuser...until now (see yesterday's post!)! As a way to focus on not wasting, I learned an oily hack. What do Epsom salts and glass jars have to do with essential oils?? They are the 2 main ingredients for a perfect bath time treat!!
Step 1: Round up the goods.
Step 2: Pour Epsom salts into jar.
Step 3: Empty any remaining oil into salt.
Step 4: Burrow oil bottles into salt.
Step 5: Wait 24hrs and then treat yo' self to bath time heaven!!!
What gives you life and what gives you death? I was listening to a @loriharder podcast this evening and @michaelrzeller was talking about looking at the things in life that bring you life and death. You can put this in context by thinking about your health. ❤️Choosing to nourish your body with healthy foods = choosing LIFE and it does not need to be hard or expensive or time consuming. The total prep time was 10 minutes MAX. Roasted brussel sprouts, broccoli onion and sweet potatoes, very lightly drizzled with olive oil + salt and pepper. My hippie hair has me saying, peace out Monday...be gone with all your stress, worry, anxiety.✌️️✌️️✌️️ Not one part of me wanted workout today. What I wanted to do was curl up on the couch with a bowl of cereal and some Netflix. It's days like today that I am reminded about WHY I exercise. And it has nothing to do with weight loss anymore.
Not that I don't want to lose weight...I've been trying for awhile now, but #thyroidproblems just make me glad that I haven't gained. When I started out trying to get into shape after having Jace (2 babies in 2 years at 38) I was all about the scale and sweating just to see a smaller number or wear a certain size.
But after 2.5 years of consistently working out 5-6 days a week from home and eating healthy 80% of the time, I can honestly say that now I do it for the way my body feels and for the mental clarity it gives me and not the 3 digits on a piece of plastic. Would I like to lose some weight? Yep. But am I letting that number or size define me like it did for years and years? Nope, not a chance.
Tonight's workout was a result of a discipline I have created and I mindset I choose to have. We can all choose what we will become...don't ever let your destiny become tied to a what others believe or say about you or about that same old story you have been telling yourself. We often encourage cooking leftovers as meals with our clients because it is convenient, tasty and we believe makes mealtimes fun and less stressful, but not everyone gets into this approach.
This is our leftover salmon casserole, topped with cheese on a bed of zucchini noodles which i will bake again to soften the noodles and reheat for dinner tonight ♡

Ok... let's get real for a second... about my LOVE for ALDI!!! @aldiusa
I overheard a family talking the other day about how they spend $1500 a month to feed the family (I think of 4) at Walmart & Sams Club (The headquarters of these stores are in our area, so there's not very many other options)
I was shocked. That's like $375 a week... So this week I paid closer attention to what I spend.
This is my cart at Aldi for my family of 4. It's not perfectly healthy, but it could be worse. We have to accommodate a gluten-free diet, a four yr old who LOVES milk and my dairy intolerance. Lunches for school and dinner every night. I usually plan out 7-10days... breakfast, lunch, dinner and a special snack or two (this week is homemade Chex mix and homemade applesauce.) My menu and list are the next pictures and these are my groceries for the next 7 or 8 days.
My ALDI total... $96!
I had to get a few more things at another store, so add $17.
Then a whole BUSHEL of apples 🍎 for $8 at a local fruit farm. #vanzantfruitmarket
My total for feeding my family for 8 days and a plan to eat out once..... drum role, please. $121 to feed a family of four with a gf diet. Approx $485/month. That's $1000 less than the family I overheard talking... $1000!!! 😳
I ❤️ Aldi!! Eating healthy and well doesn't have to be expensive. Accommodating a special diet doesn't have to break a bank. Planning and Preparing is worth it.
This morning I took Mucinex and cough meds ... but I craved the gym and have been feeling better than this weekend. Also I never like to miss a Monday am I right #fitfam ? Got in an insanity class and @sjoy88 asked if I was gonna jog a mile again .. I almost said no!?! BUT did it and 6 seconds faster than last time. No stopping either. This is all new for me ( the jogging without stopping ) it's amazing what your body can do if you put aside fear! Looking forward to Sunday to have a treat #caramelmandms but then back to no sugar till Halloween! Set goals and crush them. Don't worry about anyone else or what they think of your journey , forget them and do you!
It's AMAZING how just adding in a few extra daily activities in that aren't officially "exercise" can help you burn more calories! I personally love extra trips up and down the stairs, dancing with my kids, yard work, and parking far away from places I go😊👍 #moveyourbody#burncalories#feelgreat

It’s officially fall now!!!! I’m a sucker for white pumpkins and cinnamon in the diffuser. Maybe I’ll throw in a little nutmeg and Clove for the whole pumpkin spice family. It may be hot outside but I’m cranking up the AC and declaring fall up in here.

This chick and I have lot of history together. We've been supportive of each other's decisions, we are on the same wave length, celebrated so many wonderful milestones together, and cried plenty. We live hours away from each other but it's like we haven't missed a beat when we reunite!
