When did it get to be THANKSGIVING WEEK??!! 😳😳😳
I know it would be EASY to throw in the towel and already check out health-wise for the week. But the problem with that is that then we end up checking out for the rest of the month, which then means we check out for the rest of the YEAR, and before you know it, we’ve become like the average American and gained 5++ lbs between Halloween and New Years and we’re trying to make up for it come January. 😑😑
So instead of taking the EASY route... which ends up being the HARD route😬...my plan is just to STAY ACCOUNTABLE to myself, to my goals, to my group of girls. To workout when I can, indulge when I want to without overdoing it, and to drink water like a BOSS.

I’ve struggled with my weight for my pretty much my entire life. I was a chronic yo-yo dieter, always up and down with my weight. ⬆️⬇️I tried all kinds of diets and quick fix weight loss products. I would lose a few pounds (the wrong way) and end up gaining it back, plus more. I tried working out at the gym but I wasn’t getting there as often as I should and I had a hard time staying consistent. When I did go, I would sometimes feel overwhelmed and frustrated because I didn’t know exactly what to do and I couldn’t afford to pay for a gym membership PLUS a personal trainer. Nutrition was always an issue for me. I didn’t know enough about what and how I should be eating and I couldn’t afford a nutritionist.😔 I felt very discouraged. I started to just accept it and tell myself that it was ok for me to be overweight and not feel my best. I was lying to myself. I didn’t feel ok. I was not comfortable with the way I looked or the way I felt. I felt sluggish all the time, had no energy, didn’t like the way my clothes fit and didn’t like what I saw when i looked in the mirror. I knew I could do better and that I couldn’t give up on myself. 👉🏼👉🏼I finally reached out to friend on social media after seeing her amazing weight loss. I wanted to know more about what she was doing and see if it could work for me too. I decided to join her group and give it 100%. Best decision ever!! This program has been my solution. It simplified the nutrition part and took the guesswork out of what to do. It gave me the extra support and accountability that I needed to stay on track. Something I really struggled with when starting my drinks-free lifestyle was letting go of the idea that alcohol was THE way to celebrate. That without boozey celebrations, boozey treats as a reward for any accomplishment, to use at birthdays, or for showing gratitude, that it just wasn’t right. I truly thought there was no other way. Of course, I was completely wrong. But I couldn’t see that for a long, long time. Once I started to make a switch in my brain, I quickly became the one in my group that was now well known for baking an entire sheet of brownies every time I wanted to celebrate something or take my mind off of alcohol (and I’m a celebrator, you name it, I’m there with ribbon and sparklers). The thing is, you need to really sit and think about what makes you happy and what can potentially be your go to celebration style when those triggers arise. For me, it’s baking and exercise (thank goodness for that last one, ha! 😂). When I want to show love or appreciation, to others or myself, I don’t go out for a drink or go buy someone a bottle of wine, etc (side note- spellcheck just corrected ‘go out’ to ‘vomit’ and I think that also somewhat applies lol! Well done spellcheck!), but instead I think of something I will enjoy and others can too! Less self destruction, and a whole lot more of the sweet stuff 🙌🏻🍪 lol

💪🏼 Day in the life of a coach: One might think I workout every day for an hour, eat healthy all of the time, and have this perfect life. ❌ That is so wrong! I don’t work out some days. I don’t meal plan like I probably should. I have days full of mindless snacking 🍴or treats🍫, and I have days where I just want to be a lazy bum on the couch 🛋. What I HAVE done is this: workout at least 5-6 days a week for 30 minutes or more, and stock my pantry and fridge with healthy options for when I want to chow down. This took time and didn’t happen overnight but it’s what has gotten me here. 🙌🏻 YOU are in control of pressing play and what you put in your mouth 👄. From a distance I wondered what conversation was going on as Faith and her friend watched a little girl fish in the park pond. As I came up to them, the little girl was so excited she had already caught a fish. Faith's friend said he wished he could go fishing and I explained that we don't fish because the fish don't want to die. The little girl shrugged. Having one of those days when I feel like my head isn't attached. My mind is running thoughts on repeat. Not productive or positive thoughts, wouldn't that be nice, but instead doubt and what ifs. I so wish I could just head out for a skate to breath in that release but alas the snow has me sitting here. I had a nice escape during my morning yoga practice but then they settled back in. I'm trying to be understanding with myself and just breath in this phase. New moon, new season, and new ways to show myself compassion and patience rather than harshness. I'm also thinking I will take myself to an acro jam so I can connect with other people. Scare the daylights out of myself and smile in community. Trusting other people is not easy for me and going to a partner activity as a solo is always uncomfortable. But alas I will work myself out of this upside down phase. I will breath and feel grateful for the coping skills I have created for myself. No, although easier and faster to obtain prepare and eat, processed foods from boxes, bags, fast food joints, freezer aisles and wrappers WILL NOT fully sustain you on a long term basis and MOST LIKELY WILL tend to have you feeling more like shit ➡️ weaker, less energy, less stamina, and more illness popping up in your day to day reality. .

I hear a lot of the time:
➕ I just don't have time for exercise
➕ It costs too much money ➕ I'm not motivated enough
➕ I'll start at this time.... 🕢 etc etc... We've all used excuses before, and found reasons and obstacles not to dedicate to our health and fitness. But if you don't have your health then what do you really have?! After all your health is your greatest wealth.
There is no time like the present, don't start tomorrow or next week or next year. Why wait?? Why wait to do something that will make your life better in so many ways.
Exercise isn't just about how you look on the outside, it's what it does for you on the inside too. You have to start from the inside out, food is a critical factor to your health and fitness. You are what you eat is so true. And the more you move the more you want to feed your body with healthy nutritious food.
Those who do not find time for exercise, will have to find time for illness is something I truly believe. That's not to say that fit people don't get ill from time to time 😷 but when you take care of yourself it shows.
I find time every day to exercise and make healthy meals for me and my family to give our little girls the best start in life and to hopefully be there chosen role model in life⭐️ I want them to grow up knowing I did everything in my power to be here for them as long as possible! My health and fitness is even more important to me now than ever. Children certainly put a new perspective on life!
