One of my #circusgoals is to focus on backbending, of building the strength to push into a forearm stand with both feet rather than a kickback. Man it seems impossible and today my brain was hard core trying to block the drop to elbows. But hey I got to tip toes! Baby steps! Cooking up some tofu scramble for @jessicagohlinghorst and I for lunch. Needed something warm to eat and refuel us after playing/ sledding outside in the snow. We built our own Olaf☃️, so at the moment we’re just waiting for him to come alive in yard.😂 .
One person can change your life. For me, becoming obsessed with flexibility and contortion altered everything, and the woman who taught me to love this art form and the stretching process, and our #wcw , is Serchmaa Byamba.
Serchmaa is from Ulaanbaatar Mongolia and has been training contortion since she was a small child. She is a world class performer and is the head coach and founder of the Mongolian Contortion Center in San Francisco. Serchmaa has devoted her life to contortion and her love, enthusiasm, and knowledge of the craft is contagious for all who are lucky enough to train with her.

My forearmstand 🐍🐍🐍 is getting better! I’m able to push into my shoulders more to get deeper into the position 💚 I think I now have to start working on opening up my traps so I can lift my head up...? Any advice from my circus friends would be much appreciated! 😍🙌🏻
When students do their homework 😍😍😍 we started working on this movement last week to focus on stabilizing shoulders in #forearmstand .
