Today I met Patrick, my workout buddy and a naturopathic doctor, (going to be next year!!) and he test me general physical and put me a cortisol test. 
The kits I was provided from him is very accurate and interesting tools that measure if your hormones levels are normal. 
I'm going to use the kit tomorrow and 2 weeks later we are going to discuss about the results.

Practicing simple focused breathing 1-2 times a day can help to calm down your nervous system and balance your hormones again. RELAXATION is huge if you want to recover from #hypothalamicamenorrhea.

Focused breathing releases "feel good" hormones like serotonin which helps you maintain your mood. You can get this stuff from antidepressants, yes... But why not to make it yourself if you have that option? You will also release oxytocin, or the "love hormone" ❤️ which helps you feel more connected to other people, and hopefully also love and appreciate yourself more.

Really, you need to chill a bit. I know that the entire journey of recovering from #HA can be hard, but you can make it WORSE my stressing over it non stop. Or, you can make it EASIER by taking time to #relax, being nice to yourself, and adding simple #meditation or #breathing techniques to your everyday routine.

It doesn't have to be perfect and you don't have to sit in complete silence and cross-legged for an hour 😇 I do it in my backyard, 7-ish minutes every day and it absolutely works.

Hormones of the #Adrenal Glands  We can now learn how stress affects the various regions and zones of the adrenal glands. There are two adrenal glands, one at the top of each kidney. The adrenal glands produce a specific amount of very important hormones on a daily basis to promote general health, and maintain the processes involved in homeostasis. The amount of those hormones changes due to a response to stress. Each adrenal gland has two different regions, the adrenal cortex and the adrenal medulla.
The adrenal medulla is the innermost core of the adrenal gland, which produces and releases the hormones #epinephrine and #norepinephrine. These two hormones are also known as adrenalin and noradrenaline respectively, and are also referred to as catecholamines or as neurotransmitters, because small amounts are also produced by the nervous system. The amount of epinephrine and norepinephrine that are released may be increased by different forms of #stress. 
The adrenal cortex is the outermost layer, which makes steroid hormones such as #progesterone, #DHEA and #cortisol. The amount of cortisol and DHEA may initially be increased by different forms of stress, but the levels my decrease if stress is prolonged or too intense.
 The zona glomerulosa produces hormones with #mineralocorticoid activity such as #aldosterone, a steroid hormone that affect electrolyte levels and can causes water and sodium retention, and loss of potassium. #Pregnenolone and #progesterone are also made in this region, which is significant because even progesterone has some mild mineralocorticoid activity.
The zona fasciculate produces glucocorticoids such as cortisol, which is famous for being the “stress hormone”. The zone reticularis produces androgens such as #DHEA, and #androstenedione, which can both act as precursors for sex hormones.☄️Aloha 🏄🏽💪🏼💫

I have decided to do much more research into the management of chronic pain after listening to world renowned experts on the subject.  The combination of meditation, movement, and diet should be incorporated  into a comprehensive pain management program.

Stress is a very important factor when it comes to fat loss. We need to use stress to our advantage, but also manage it so that it doesn't become counterintuitive.

We stress our bodies using physical exercise to improve fitness, increase muscle size, create a Kcal deficit and ultimately try to bring about a change for our benefit. 'No pain , no gain' expression works to some extent however if we don't manage our stress appropriately, we can over train, burn out and screw up the immune system .

It mainly comes down to a hormone called CORTISOL. .

Cortisol is a steroid hormone that is released by the adrenal glands and regulated within the pituitary glands at the base of the brain. It is released when you're facing stressful situations .

But what is STRESS? Remember stress can be physical, mental or emotional. Lifting weights causing stress, revising for an exam or worrying about work causing stress, anxiety causes stress, overthinking causes stress, crying has the same effect. AND GUESS WHAT?? All of these situations also cause the release of cortisol. So what happens to our bodies when we have too much Cortisol?

This means holding onto fat, reducing muscle tissue to a more efficient level and making us crave those foods that are more likely to keep us alive in a survival situation. Sugars and Fats . .

Learn to manage your stress , and try to keep it to times when you exercise and you'll start to see a much improved rate of fat loss . Feel much happier. Crave less crappy foods and realise you have more energy than you thought. .

Anyone that knows me knows how much of a sweet eater I am. It’s so amazing to me that I no longer CRAVE sweets the way I used to. If I was at the grocery store in the morning, I would buy a candy bar as I was checking out. In the afternoon I would go to Starbuck’s for my mocha drink, hot or cold BUT ALWAYS with whipped cream. Once I even got an extra cup just full of whipped cream! 😳 This was my routine pretty much daily, you get the picture.

Thanks to the first test of its kind, the Cortisol Awakening Response (AKA CAR), we can get a window into 'the function' of the hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenocortical axis. Instead of triangulating HPA axis functional from a four point cortisol test we can now test the HPA axis in context of biological rhythms and hormones--which IMO is a game changer.

We , humans are designed to drink #breastmilk as it's full of goodness and hormones to help us grow. Likewise animal milk is full of #growthhormone to make their babies grow. So why do we drink it? And #caffeine I omit because it stimulates the #stresshormone #cortisol which in abundance contributes to #weightgain and #insulinresistance . So this is my choice . What is yours??
