SUNDAY AFTERNOON TREAT🙌🏻☺️.. Just resting for a few minutes before we take off to visit my parents and celebrate my dad’s birthday.

Earlier today I was reflecting upon how good I’ve felt the past couple of weeks. Being in tune with your body is such a powerful tool. Adrenal fatigue hit me HARD but one of the most amazing gifts that came from it was my ability to be so in tune with my body. I’m feeling better every single day. The bloating issue I’ve been having seems to have disappeared. My acne isn’t raging. I feel good today - in large part due to an awesome hot yin yoga class🙏🏻.

When it comes to exercising for fat loss, people always seem to gravitate towards the most extreme method. So whenever someone comes to me asking what they should do to get faster results, they’re usually a little confused, and even disappointed, when I tell them simply to walk. That’s right. Just go for walks. It doesn’t matter, when, where, or for how long, but getting those steps in can do wonders for helping with fat loss, without having to do more intense exercise or eat less.

If fat loss is your goal, you have to be taking in fewer calories than your burning, so it makes sense that you’d want to burn as many calories as possible throughout the day. Cause who wants to have to eat less? When you can no longer add more high intensity activity to get that calorie burn, you have to find another way to do so. Enter walking. It can be done as often as possible and will you recover faster from those hard workouts. The best fat loss training program combines high intensity workouts (weightlifting and interval training) with low intensity activity like walking.

Some exercise, especially moderate intensity, steady state cardio, can actually increase appetite. Not so helpful when fat loss is the goal. Walking, however, doesn’t have the same effect. In my personal experience, walking actually helps to decrease my appetite. Even if I feel a little hunger, if I go out for a walk it’s pretty much suppressed right away.

Cortisol is the stress hormone, and while it is needed in some amounts for fat burning, too much can lead to muscle loss, fat storage, and even increase appetite. Leisurely walking, especially when done outside in nature, helps lower cortisol. It also helps lower stress. If you’re a stress eater, daily walking can keep you eating during those times.

It is actually recommended that if you are starting a new weight loss program you should ease into exercise as it can raise cortisol. If you’re planning to exercise this new year let’s start with an easy walk, light weights, or yoga. Starting too intensely is really not needed.

Stepping out in red last night was more than just wearing a dress to me. For the longest time I told myself red wasn’t my color for whatever reason - I’m not really sure why it wouldn’t be. My mom LOVED to wear red so maybe I was rebelling against her or maybe it’s because it is so bright and attracts a lot of attention.

I resisted wearing this dress even after I bought it. I spent 2 hours searching for any other color dress to wear instead and found nothing. But all of the compliments I received have made me think differently.

Happy Monday!! I know I’m probably the minority here, but I absolutely LOVE Mondays. I think it’s because it’s the start of a brand new week and so I get to set myself a whole new bunch of goals and objectives for the week. I usually plan to do something nice at least once a week with friends or even just by myself, so I guess I’m always looking forward to that too. I have a challenge for you this week: Let’s try week to reduce the amount of stress and pressure we place on ourselves. Yes it’s indeed Monday again and that means another working week, but we need to be realistic about the stresses and demands we have of ourselves. I am not trying to point out the obvious when I say that stress is bad for you. It honestly and sincerely is on so many levels. Yes there are the mental and physical demand increases when you increase your stress, but beyond that there are also increased hormonal activity that will likely result in less than ideal outcomes for you.
For example, did you know when you stress your cortisol and insulin hormones increase? These hormones trigger fat storage and weight retention (or even weight gain). It is important to remember that you are human and so there is only so much that you can realistically achieve in a day. Beyond that may seem like it would be of great benefit to you and you work, but please remember not to berate yourself or punish yourself if you aren’t able to achieve extra things.

Some ideas to help you reduce the amount of stress in your day/week:
*Set yourself some goals for the day - not too many, or nothing will get done.
*Give yourself time to take breaks during the day so that you don’t burn out.
*Make sure you eat at regular times to keep up your energy and mental focus.
*Get out and enjoy the sunshine and some fresh air if you can.
*Go for a walk/jog (20-30 mins is plenty of time) just to clear your mind and increase your endorphins.
*Schedule one morning in the week when you don’t have to jump out of bed and rush around super early.

I don't 'do' cardio specifically. And I don't take up my clients precious time doing cardio. Why? There is a massive misconception, especially amongst women, that 'cardio' is the key to weight loss and a sustainable body fat percentage, but actually I find that this to be quite the opposite. Doing moderate to long sessions of cardio actually has the potential to 'eat' into muscle and exhaust the body. For a toned, sustainably lean physique you MUST turn your attention to weight bearing activities that build muscle and raise metabolism. This alongside the correct nutrition 80/90 percent of the time,  is the only way to sustainability long term,  middle age and beyond. 
When I did a lot of cardio, I was constantly tired, my weights sessions were much harder and my body was much more 'floppy'. My body shape is now  more 'toned' since I've knocked the 'cardio' on the head.  Adding more adequate rest is key to a healthy, strong body. You can achieve an amazing cardio vascular response by doing the right resistance work, and doing short sessions of high intensity interval training that challenges the big muscle groups. Weight training, yoga, martial arts and Pilates are the disciplines I use to keep myself in shape. 
As women, we have far more challenges than men hormonally with regards to our training and nutritional needs. And this has to be taken seriously especially as we get older. 
Sustainability is KEY for me. As a single mum, my time is limited and I don't want to spend my whole life in the gym. I don't want all my energy swallowed up by my training regime. I'm not interested in looking like a body builder, I just need to feel strong in my own skin. I want to train to live, not live to train.  And although I LOVE my workouts and they are my therapy, they need to aid my life, not take it over. I train for 7 hours a week, but you can achieve a phenomenally healthy and strong physique on less.

Earlier today I was reflecting upon how good I’ve felt the past couple of weeks. Being in tune with your body is such a powerful tool. While this study was done on Fibromyalgia patients (I believe FM , CFS, and Metabolic Syndrome are misdiagnosed Subclinical Cushing’s)it is interesting to note the common occurrence in this study as well as anecdotally in support forums for adrenal based Cushing’s. Many have had strait necks in X-rays their entire life. Could this somehow be linked to the pressure of the buffalo hump many also get and be tied to the increased IIH? Stepping out in red last night was more than just wearing a dress to me. For the longest time I told myself red wasn’t my color for whatever reason - I’m not really sure why it wouldn’t be. My mom LOVED to wear red so maybe I was rebelling against her or maybe it’s because it is so bright and attracts a lot of attention.

This is what an unlawful governmental process looks like in the from of stress - a mere 4.5 years worth of a difference. 
When taking on any legal justice campaign, be sure to document what one one looked like before a state crime and then what one looks like after one has beensuccessful after 9 court cases - and then make sure your process of decline is well documented. 
Despite my own back ground career, knowledge, expertise and experiences, including knowing the medical side of life, no matter how I tried to live within the parameters of healthy living, stress will not only destroy you, it will sap every inch of life from your veins and consume your entire being; it has literally incapacitated my entire life.

Love studying neurotransmitters. I'm a firm believer that if someone's deficiency or excess of one or more neurotransmitters is caused by, for instance, stress, it can be reversed or at least controlled through diet, sleep, etc. Neurotransmitter levels are a cycle in how they can be deficient, overproduced, and even changed. Those with Parkinson's have extremely low levels of dopamine. I saw a commercial on TV the other day that showed how Parkinson's can cause hallucinations/delusions in some individuals. Turns out, it's the medications for Parkinson's causing this, through efforts of increasing dopamine but by too much, which can trigger psychotic symptoms. This is why I find pharmaceutical drugs risky. They're great for those in need, but not in most scenarios. Neurotransmitters are very sensitive. I believe in tackling the neurotransmitter imbalance/excess through natural means by figuring out -why- the body has difficulty maintaining an appropriate balance of neurotransmitters and to ensure the body can "learn" or have the appropriate resources to produce the correct amount on its own. It's tricky, but not impossible. You can EAT to balance the chemicals and hormones in your body. Again, this can be a challenge for many, but I say it's all worth it if one can go the natural route and do well. I had no idea that hormones and neurotransmitters could be related to our diet. I spoke about things to have in your Holiday Support Pack.  If you remember I suggested a daytime stress formula.  Can Prev Adrenal Pro is the formula that we recommend most for clients. When we test clients hormonally using the Biosignature method, we notice couple things. 
1.  There is a reduction in body fat in the umbilical region. Which usually shows that cortisol levels have been regulated

2.  We also notice an improvemnt in clients  sleep quality.  Clients report falling asleep faster and having less trouble getting up in the morning. Less snoozing on the alarm!

De trick is om er een wekelijks ritueel van te maken! Dan wordt het niet steeds onderaan je 'to do' lijstje geschoven of eindig je elke avond uitgeblust op de bank. Spreek met jezelf 1 of 2 vaste avond(en) in de week af voor selfcare en zorg dat de mensen om je heen er vanaf weten. Dat je dan even geen telefoontjes of appjes beantwoordt, dat het tijd voor ontspanning is! Leg je telefoon ook echt weg (geen verleiding) en gebruik deze avond om te voelen en doen waar jouw lichaam behoefte aan heeft. 🌿

Een warm voetenbadje, een goede scrub en maskertje, lekker in bad (oh jaloers als je die hebt!), je lijf droogborstelen, schrijven, mediteren of eindelijk dat ene boek lezen. Klinkt heerlijk toch!? Liefste mensen, dit is echt geen overbodige luxe, maar noodzakelijk in onze drukke maatschappij om onze geest en lichaam gezond te houden! .

Sinds een paar maanden is de vrijdagavond mijn selfcare avond en op zondagavond doe ik standaard een chakra healing. De vrijdag wordt hier al 'voetenbadjes-avond' genoemd haha. Even dat hard werkende lijf pamperen en resetten. Gisteravond had ik ook zin in een zacht reinigende facial scrub (baking soda + kokosolie, works like a treat!) gevolgd door een natuurlijk modder maskertje. 👰 ✨

Een wekelijks voetenbadje met magnesiumvlokken kan ik trouwens iedereen aanraden! Magnesium is een ondergewaardeerd mineraal waar veel lijven een tekort aan hebben. Our bodies are meant to run on a circadian rhythm that has distinct times for wakefulness and sleep. There are cells in our bodies which regulate sleep, hunger, growth, hormone release, & body temp. When functioning properly sleep is good. 
Light is what provides the main cue for these cells to function properly. When light ⬇️at the end of day melatonin is released from the pineal gland. This begins the transition from wakefulness to sleepiness. When light ⬆️in morning melatonin ⬇️and the body shifts from sleep to wakefulness.
Modern day makes this process 
Poor sleep....
•drives up appetite
•⬆️blood pressure •weakens immune system •worsens depression  Modern day makes this more complicated however, with TV, lap tops, phones..
Some solutions...
-establish regular bedtime -⬇️electronic use before bed -stop eating several hours before bed (Still working on this 🤭)
-create a bed time ritual -exercise earlier in the day -avoid caffeine & alcohol (lessen)

Pic on the left is our room without them compared to our room on the right with the curtains. Such a difference!
