Confession.. I need to be more consistent with quality stretching. I had a good swim and a nice back/bicep lift today. Moving up a weight on my curls which is always fun. A man helped me set up the cable machine because he could see I was struggling hopping on my good leg 😂 and when I told him what weight I wanted it at he called me "beastly girl." In the past I probably would've freaked out at that comment and skipped dinner or something ridiculous, but today I felt so proud of it. Like hell yeah I'm getting strong and shocking rando men with the weight I pull... nothing to be ashamed of there. Here's to building myself up instead of tearing myself down 🥂.

I have been struggling with injuries for the best part of two years all of which stem from my hips. We had a good chat about my running history, current issues and goals. Then we went through a series of diagnostics and we managed to draw a story of what was going on in my body. He has given me some exercises to fit in to my daily routine that aim to improve my hip tilt, strengthen my core, activate my glutes and open my hips. Change won't happen overnight, it's going to take discipline and time. But today I left feeling very hopeful about my future as a club runner. I feel like I can do this now, I can correct these issues and I can progress. I would highly recommend seeing Ian at Ainsworth Body Science if you are looking for answers and finding the root cause of persistent pain or injuries.

1- Es un grave error tratar de proyectar en nuestros hijos el deportista que nos hubiera gustado llegar a ser a nosotros.
2- Respeta los métodos de los entrenadores de tus hijos. No solo buscan su mejora deportiva,sino también su propia formación.
3- No obligues a tu hijo a hacer deporte. Si no le gusta una determinada actividad, habrá otra que le motive y con la que disfrute sin que le suponga una obligación. Si no, terminará aborreciendo el deporte.
4- El calendario deportivo semanal de tu hijo debe ser variado, pero no lo apuntes a mil actividades deportivas o conseguirás estresarlo. El que mucho abarca…
5- Jamás especialices a un niño pequeño en un determinado deporte para que sea un campeón, puede que le soluciones su futuro económico pero es aún más probable que le arruines su vida.
6- Intenta que las actividades a las que apuntes a tu hijo sean breves y que se quede con ganas para el próximo día, y huye de excesos como llevarlos a competir casi todos los fines de semana.
 7- Los niños deberán disfrutar con la actividades que realicen y a ser posible deberán probar el mayor número de experiencias deportivas en diferentes medios y situaciones.
8- La sociedad actual está muy avanzada tecnológicamente pero ha involucionado mucho a nivel de interacciones físicas reales, por lo que hoy en día nuestros niños apenas dedican tiempo para jugar entre ellos en el parque, algo básico si quieres que mejoren sus habilidades motrices.
