Carrots are one of my favorite vegetables. Carrots are sweet and can be made spicy and/or savory. They are great eaten raw for snacks and salads and really good pickled. When the mood strikes me, I enjoy a serving of freshly made, delicious and refreshing, carrot juice. I save the pulp (freeze if needed) to add additional fiber and body to carrot, sweet potato and squash soups. No waste!  Many know that carrots contain beta carotene and fiber. They are also rich in vitamin A, C, K, and B8, as well as pantothenic acid, folate, potassium, iron, copper, and manganese.  Carrots can boost immunity, protect the heart, lower blood pressure, reduce the risk of stroke, prevent some forms of cancer, lower the risk of macular degeneration and help to control blood sugar levels.  As always, be sure to eat the colors of the rainbow and include carrots often for a tasty, versatile, naturally sweet and healthy treat! Eat in a balanced way, enjoy your food, and be well!

Did somebody say cure-all elixir? Jamu juice is a traditional Indonesian herbal drink that can be taken fresh every day and is revered for its power to heal ailments (purify the blood), disease prevention, aids weight loss and enhance one’s beauty (skin complexion), strength or stamina (even libido). If that wasn’t exciting enough, the majority of ingredients can be grown in any tropical garden, are easy to prepare and it tastes delicious! Usually served chilled, this is the perfect drink for Summer.  A bright marigold colour + intensely flavoured with ginger and lime (highly addictive & refreshing). There are many recipes for Jamu, but this one that I learnt from a Balinese Ayurvedic Healer. . -½ cup washed turmeric root, roughly chopped
- 3cm ginger root, roughly chopped
- 4 cups filtered water
- 2tbs raw honey (I use Manuka)
- Juice of 1 lime (some prefer lemon)

Blend turmeric, ginger, and ½ cup of water. Pour the puree into pot, add remaining water and honey. Bring to a boil then reduce heat to continue cooking at a gentle simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off heat + add lime. Use a straining sheet, strain the mixture into a container and keep in the refrigerator. Enjoy chilled!

Squats 3x3 77.5kg not happy with them but thats the way the cookie crumbles they still moved ok. Thought they'd feel better considering I think I consumed 10000 calories over the weekend 😮

2x6 @52.5kg 4 to 1 second tempo squats (4 seconds on the descent 1 sec up) these are great for improving cardiovascular endurance, improving and maintaining squat position for heavier squats and for me they really work well for posterior chain/glute utilization 
Followed by: split squats, leg extensions and single leg glute thrusters

Happy Thanksgiving Sunday y’all! I LOVE the fall (and now that I’m in Texas the winter too) and any excuse to get together with friends and family to celebrate with laughter, gratitude, and good food! I’ve been running around all day getting ready for our trip to FL to get together with my bro and his wife and kids packing snacks, clothes, immune support (elderberry syrup, liposomal vitamin C, probiotics, and more) to protect Stella and us during the flight and beyond...But taking time to start my day off right with my Pumpkin Paleo Pancakes (google Ali Miller Pumpkin pancakes for recipe) was the right decision for a grounded low anxiety approach to the many lists I am tackling! The recipe has 4 eggs, collagen, grassfed whey, coconut oil, and 1/2 c canned pumpkin, 2 Tbsp coconut flour with baking soda, vanilla, and seasonings...that’s IT! Then of course it was eaten with bacon and a fried egg 🍳. Focusing on Whole Foods to satiate your cravings and driving with high fat and lower carb options will allow you to feel you are both indulging and honoring your body with nourishment! Be good to yourself this holiday season. Allow for mindful indulgences that sit well and treat your body with respect and honor! You guys got this 🤜
