Keep the neck neutral and shoulders down.

Just before coming into the first rep, activate the hamstrings and thigh muscles. Just shake them around a bit (you know, make your butt jiggle lol) then contract them, while pressing into the heels to come up.

As you press up to the top of the movement, you want to focus on keeping your legs activated, to protect your back and imagine your hips are straight up at the same time your knees straighten. It should be one fluid motion.

It takes practice tho so don’t get discouraged if you feel like you mess it up all the time.

Then if you need to, adjust your feet width at the top of the movement. I always do. It’s what feels most comfortable/most strong to you.

Also wanted to point out that the reason I’m not touching the ground with these weights is because they are small and it would put me past 90 degrees to do that. #safetyfirstkids 😉
