When you’re into shooting you dream of training with guy that are at the level of @sofsurvivor and @kurt_teamfieldcraft from @fieldcraftsurvival. But to have to the opportunity to work with them and their company is beyond awesome. Just makes you wanna be that much better.
I didn’t get to shoot as much as i would like, i was under the whether and got called away several times, but it still was a great weekend. Also a big shoutout to @courses_of_action for a great collaboration. Great dude and teacher.
Lastly a nugget of wisdom from something i heard Mike say. People that are the best at what they do don’t feel sorry when they are performing poorly or are having a bad day: so on this #monday let’s not whine about the Monday, but remember it’s the first day of the rest of your life. Make the most of it.
Monday is the day of new beginnings.
Think of it as the “New Years” of the week.
We all make decisions Sunday night that we try to execute starting today.
Understand the power of today. Understand that it’s just a moment.
Close your eyes and push through.
It’s not only about you. Your positive habits disperse into those around you. Your influence is felt by everyone that gets into the presence of your good decisions today.
Close your eyes and push through. You will be surprised that when you open them there might be someone standing next to you, looking up at you, saying me too please.
Learn or think of something cool.
Don’t tell anyone about your cool thing or idea.
Start doing or trying to accomplish the cool thing. Even if you don’t know how exactly, start doing it anyway
Learn how to do it better and more successfully as you fail and succeed along the way.
Start answering questions of how you came up with the idea and how you managed to pull it off.
Help the people that learn something from you and help them accomplish their goal.
Too many people talk about their ideas. They try to impress with ideas. They speak of their elaborate plans. How the world should be. What’s wrong with society etc. not enough people do the thing they thought of.
Make sure your answering questions.
Not making up statements.
Close your eyes and push through.
It’s “New Years” of this week.
Start it strong
Finish strong. -Bart
4 easy miles this morning at the gym. Started a 6 week training plan to help get me through the rest of the year. Feels good to have structure again with my workouts.
Next Race: Detroit Turkey Trot 5K
MONDAY MORNING MINDSET:
The past is the past. It’s shaped you into who you are today. It’s taught you a lot. Learn from it and move on.
Don’t let the past consume your thoughts and deprive you of time, efforts and success today.
We are ever evolving. We aren’t the same people we were yesterday. Appreciate the times life humbled us, for it made us stronger as a result.
It’s Monday. It’s cold. And it’s a holiday week.
We all have the same excuses.
Thanksgiving will be one day, not the entire week.
Don’t let it be an accuse to fuck your entire week up.
Do the work.
Don’t bitch, no one cares.
You’re not special to anyone but yourself.
#realtalk this morning. Everyone talks about having a goal but no one tells you that when you reach it it’s kind of disappointing. Don’t get me wrong you’re excited that you reached the goal. You feel proud of yourself. But the truth is, reaching your goal leaves you hungry for more. The joy is found in the fight. The joy is found today, as you are persisting toward the end result. Work hard. Celebrate every single day! Remind yourself in this moment that you are OUTSTANDING. I love you today. #coffeewithmama#weekthree#strongsmartcapableworthy#dowork#goals
All bodies are good and you are stronger than you believe.
You may not believe in your own strength in certain situations, but the more you lean in, the more risks you take because you believe you can....the idea of strength becomes a reality.
You have it in you....you just need to believe that you do. Lean in to it.
You will never have this day again. Make it count.
If you want to achieve anything in life, you have to stop being nice to yourself, sacrifices has to be made! And on this Sunday the culmination of months and months of sacrifices will show and possibly rewarded! BUT you can’t focus on the reward - the journey is a reward in itself! The values you pick up, the dedication you teach yourself, everything sums up into one big character building period of your life! Thank you to @janteller for capturing this just one of many wonderful shots!
Hello, Good Morning!!! I stayed down a little longer but NO CAKE DAYS OFF including MINE so I clocked in on the AM SHIFT!!!! Completed a good 5K this am & now I’m ready for some lifting! My entire workout is FASTED!! AM CREW LEGOOOOOO!!Nothing Works But WORK!! 💯💪🏾💪🏾
APPROACHING THE DEADLIFT💪💪...If something doesn’t feel right, I readjust, as you see in this video.
It’s never good to go at an exercise, especially a heavy one such as the deadlift, and just whip right into it.
Ease into it. Get comfortable.
Find the grip placement you like best.
If there’s a mirror, check your back to make sure it’s flat, not rounded.
Pay attention to how your weight feels in your feet - should be centered, but ready to push through those heels.
Keep the neck neutral and shoulders down.
Just before coming into the first rep, activate the hamstrings and thigh muscles. Just shake them around a bit (you know, make your butt jiggle lol) then contract them, while pressing into the heels to come up.
As you press up to the top of the movement, you want to focus on keeping your legs activated, to protect your back and imagine your hips are straight up at the same time your knees straighten. It should be one fluid motion.
It takes practice tho so don’t get discouraged if you feel like you mess it up all the time.
Then if you need to, adjust your feet width at the top of the movement. I always do. It’s what feels most comfortable/most strong to you.
Also wanted to point out that the reason I’m not touching the ground with these weights is because they are small and it would put me past 90 degrees to do that. #safetyfirstkids 😉
The deadlift movement is an essential part of weight training and getting stronger. Hope this helped you with yours! #themoreyouknow#chickswholift#strongbody
