“Loving life is easy when you are abroad. Where no one knows you and you hold your life in your hands all alone, you are more master of yourself than at any other time.” — Hannah Arendt
The other day I posed a question to my GRRR followers on Facebook and it's been so helpful. But I forgot to post it here. I've been dreaming about this for two years, but the vision felt so big , that I felt ... ok, chickenshit. But the nagging didn't go away. 🐣Dreams can get lost when they feel too big, beyond our scope of possibility and the work feels ginormous. Ok breathe, baby steps... It's not impossible until it is ... 🦄———————————————————————— Feedback: Wanna travel with me? ———————————————————————— I’m thinking of leading a small group tour, but I’m trying to figure out what might be super enticing to you (and me). Fun and adventurous~ it goes without saying. #India might be my first testing ground. I want to share how I travel. Vote please! ———————————————————————— A. Bucketlist trips we discover together B. Off-the-beaten path C. Popular highlights and learning how to film travel vids/YouTube D. Winging (solo) travel type of trip (& you learn how I do it)

————————————————————————-1 year ago today I enjoyed pizza in Thailand with Kate from the solo female travel Facebook group I’m in. I posted a picture of the skyline in the group and Kate said she was there too! That’s when we decided what better time to meet than now! She is from England and spent a year traveling the world! She brought someone she met from her yoga class, Clyde, who is from Hawaii and living In Thailand. To this day we send each other random trip updates like when Clyde saw the Great Wall of China!! ❤️
We travel not to escape life,
but to life not to escape us. 🌊
Mein erster Solourlaub und gleichzeitig einer der intensivsten. Kann kaum den Moment abwarten, das nächste mal am Meer zu sein, irgendwo in der Welt ♡
I want my children and grandchildren to be able to experience the same beautiful places as I have travelled to and hiked/camped. I'm going to strive to educate on how people can save this world by choosing to lessen their carbon footprint. My biggest choice for me was choosing to be vegan. Such a huge impact on the environment!
Some people tremble at the idea of being alone. I always get asked how I become so happy each time I travel solo or what I feel when I'm alone in a city or in an island.🗨💕
Well you know what? Travelling solo feels like the entire serene universe is holding you peacefully and quietly and there is no other feeling but to be thankful and happy. You start creating a sanctuary and stillness within you to which you can retreat at anytime. You become aware of the fullness of your own presence than the absence of others. You are luxuriously immersed in doing things of your own choice. I know some people find solo travelling weird and lonely but it truly is the vehicle that led me to this state of positivity. Let go of the thought that solitude is loneliness. It isn't. It is freedom. It is an energy that leads people to extraordinary levels of joy. Scary at first, yes. But it's totally worth it. 💪😘🤗😍

Today one year ago I went on a 20 mile bike tour around Thailand in the morning (another 20 at night) this picture was taken on the morning tour. It was just me and the guide. He first brought me to the poorest part of Bangkok. He said these neighborhoods were where the drug addicts, gangs, and those less fortunate live. While he’s telling me this I have to be honest the last thing I wanted to do was be there if that was the case and kept saying in my head thank goodness it’s 730am no one is up. I would be lying if I said I didn’t have a little anxiety being alone not knowing anyone in this country and being there. He further tells me in a one bedroom apartment a family of 6 or more people would live in there. ——————————————————
It’s easy to forget that I was born to a 1st world country. In this moment I took a step back into the moment of exploring a 3rd world country while on vacation to see the bigger picture. ——————————————
I’ve debated sharing this picture for a year because I was more concerned about my audience rather than my honesty. But that’s not what life is about. This picture is what life is about ❤️ (📸 solo adventure in Thailand January 2017 )
When you open your eyes from a meditation and this is the sight that greets you it seemingly feels it shouldn't be difficult to stay calm and present. The mind is a funny thing though and can spin faster than you can keep up with in the most serene and beautiful of places. I'm learning not to fight and resist those feelings, they're there for a reason. Sit back and observe, I may be spinning fast but I'm not going to fall off. Right now I'll take the inspiration to drink 1 less cup of coffee and plan a grounding themed practice for the next yoga class I'll be teaching.
Enjoy your Sunday everyone wherever you're spinning in the world.
This is the first time I have ever swam in a river! Tena is a door to Amazon jungles and it has both, Tena and Napo rivers. I wanted to be more like Ecuadorian poeple and be tanned! But it rained instead! He knows himself what to do to make your day the best, we don't need to wish!! Which river was your first to swim?
