I’m sad because I won’t be in the gym for at least two weeks due to having my appendix removed . I need to learn to listen to my body better instead of thinking I could tough it out 🤷🏿♀️. I had surgery yesterday so still sore but ready to get back in the gym because I’m losing all my gains on this liquid only diet 🙄😡. But I will post other things I do to stay in shape while I heal. Definitely will be taking as much time as I need. If anyone has any suggestions leave them in the comments 😃
Things that working out had taught me:
1. I like my buns and ponytails high
2. But I like my pants even higher
Sorry I've been MIA the past couple of days!! I had my residency weekend back on campus and, when I wasn't doing 10 hours of school work, I was out catching up with friends! As amazingly fun as it was.. my body is seriously feeling the side effects of all the alcohol 🤢 that being said though, I knew I'd feel like this. But it doesn't happen very often and I think that missing out on going out with friends I haven't seen since April/May would be far worse then feeling gross for a couple of days. Don't let your goals stop you from living your life!
ITS ADDICTING...the gym, the leggings, the squats, the grind, the preparation, the sweat, the progress, . It’s a lifestyle now. Don’t ever settle, always push yourself to try something new and out of your comfort zone, even when it’s scary. I’m not talking about the gym necessarily, just in everyday life. New things are good things! #doyoubooboo @_reignapparel_ dropping in 2 days 👀 🔥 I’m wearing an xs in the white leggings. (they’re kinda a grey white tri blend) They ARE NOT see through 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
So lately I've been getting a lot of msgs from people asking how I stay dedicated and what keeps me going so I thought I'd share this!
For me, it was either I workout with 110% dedication or I stay underweight.. which wasn't an option! Once I got my mind set on that, the hard work was easy!
Here's 10 reasons I workout as often:
1️⃣ It's an escape from reality for an hour or two. A great stress relief after a long day at work. Spending an hour at the gym rewires my brain and restores my energy for the next day.
2️⃣ It's the best therapy for my body after working away hunched back on my laptop.
3️⃣ I get bored very easily and I'm self-destructive when I'm bored. Working out is never boring, it gets more challenging everyday. Getting challenged helps you deal with stressful situations better, it cultivates creativity.
4️⃣ I'm not a competitive person by nature but working out has brought out a competitive side in me. Everyday at the gym is a chance for me to beat the person I was yesterday. I don't necessarily have to hit a personal record but if I can be in a stronger, more confident mental state, then I'm winning.
5️⃣ It regulates your sleeping patterns. I used to wake up at least 3 times a night before. Now my body craves 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep to recover.
6️⃣ It's a great way to meet new people who share similar challenges and aspirations.
7️⃣ It increases your self-esteem and self-confidence. Not only because you're physically getting better but because you're getting mentally stronger with every challenge you beat.
8️⃣ It teaches you patience, discipline and dedication. I didn't realize this until someone told me how much patience I have at the gym. I always thought of myself as an impatient person. But as the months have passed, I've learnt to be more patient in my workouts, in my fitness journey overall. It's not an end goal, it's a lifestyle at the end of the day.
9️⃣ It enhances your metabolism and grows your appetite. 3000 calories a day minimum to keep my stomach quiet... Need I say more?
🔟 It makes you feel good. Mentally. Physically.
Any other reasons you workout, let me know!!
