Sucess tip of the day:
Mistakes are proof that you are trying. Never give up!
Get fit, don't quit
"You're too muscular" "you're getting thicker" "your chest is disappearing" "you're going to bulk up" "you're going to look like a man" "you're gaining weight"
I cannot count the times I've heard this over and over where it got to a point where I actually started to believe everything that was said to me. Countless friends and family having their opinion on how and what I should look like!!! I got sick and tired of it and if I'm being totally honest some comments still get me (those from people that I love) but then I re-evaluate the situation and think to myself "they haven't been through my fitness journey and they don't know what I want to look like and they are not busting their butt and making sacrifices to get where they want to be" so why even bother listening? It's just noise!!! BLOCK-IT-OUT👂🏼🚫
Stop judging and focus on your goals instead of trying to fix someone else's. If you don't want to look like someone else then don't. It's not a task you have to complete. People -even close friends/family- project themselves in us and most of the time, when you hear comments like these, that person is actually trying to help you but they don't realize they're aid is actually unhelpful judgement. They don't mean any harm. They feel that if they tell you how THEY would be happy then that would make YOU happy too which is completely untrue.
So whenever you see somebody that looks "too bulky" "too skinny" "too manly" "to flat" IN YOUR PERSPECTIVE remember that you don't know their struggles and what their goals are. Unless somebody asks for your opinion, don't tell anyone how they should look. Keep your mind focused on what you want to achieve and let others kick ass on whatever it is they are trying to kick ass in 😉💜

7 WEEKS APART‼️
I'm proud of my progress as of today, but I'm also frustrated that I actually was okay with my body & mentality in the first one. 🤔
I'm sure a lot of you will say "you don't even look that bad" but the thing is, it wasn't my best. I didn't strive to better myself. I wasn't motivated enough to make a consistent effort in changing my lifestyle. I was content with how I looked & felt. In my opinion, fitness never has & never will be about just "looking" good. To me, it's a combination of both looking good & FEELING good.
I'm gona share a little bit of my experience thus far. I've been working out on & off since I was 16 years old. I've had trainers, I've done all the DVDs, meal prepped the basic chicken, veggies & rice & I can honestly tell you, I knew nothing. For the last almost 12 years I have been doing the bare minimum & seeing little to no results. It wasn't until recently I decided what I was doing wasn't working & I wanted more.
I don't have a trainer, I don't have someone writing my meal plans & workouts. I have ME. I'm putting in the work. I'm watching all the fitness/bodybuilding YouTube channels & researching everything I want to know. I'm experimenting with food, workouts, etc. I've made more progress in a little over a month BY MY FREAKING SELF. Why? Because I WAS NOT HAPPY. Because I WANTED MORE. Because I AM TIRED OF SETTLING. I wanted change. ITS ME VS ME! I will never STOP fighting to be better because I fell IN LOVE with this industry & I fell IN LOVE with the person staring back at me in the mirror. 💞
HOW BAD DO YOU WANT IT?
Any other bag ladies out there?! I feel like I require so many things to get out the door for work, AND MY SMOOTHIE DIDN'T EVEN MAKE THE PICTURE SINCE I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH HANDS 🙌 The daily struggle 😂😂 and I don't even have kids! I can't even imagine how many more bags would be required! 👜💼🛍
Agora, TREININHO 😉🏋🏽♀️ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀

Are you drinking BCAA?
Amino acids are the building blocks of protein. Branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) are so called because of their structure, which includes a "side chain" of one carbon atom and three hydrogen atoms. There are three BCAAs: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. BCAAs are found in most protein sources; meat, fish, eggs, dairy, nuts, beans, lentils and soy.
- Benefits of BCAA;
- Consuming BCAAs before, during and after training can increase uptake into muscle tissue and increase protein synthesis - which is necessary for muscle gain.
- BCAA supplementation may lower lactate levels after resistance training and improve muscular oxidation.
- BCAAs may increase growth hormone (GH) circulation, which may be related to anabolic mechanisms causing muscle growth.
- BCAAs help to preserve lean muscle tissue; something that is vital for those on a caloric deficit diet.
- There is a theory that BCAAs can limit central fatigue with endurance athletes.
- Adequate consumption of BCAAs may help manage body fat, spare muscle mass, and regulate glucose/insulin balance.

I am pleased to announce that Life Science Recruitment is sponsoring me for the RIBBF Nationals on the 7th of October. Not a lot of people can say that they have the amount of support I am receiving from their work place. Prepping for a competition involves a lot financially - the extra food and supplements, paying a coach and all the bells and whistles to look my best on stage. Fortunately that is one less thing to worry about.
In terms of the mental side of things, preparing for a competition takes a lot of willpower, dedication and sacrifice. I am thankful that all the people around me have given me 100% of their support.
Especially @stewartflood and everyone in Life Science Recruitment who keep me going during the day. @sincully @karen_shiel @brianhc99 @cassmeistergen
I've been working hard for the past 3 months and there is just over 2 weeks to go. I'm going to give it my best.

Happy New Year to all of those celebrating tonight. I don't do New Years resolutions in January - for me, it sets me up to fail because I can't stick to a goal for an entire year. I prefer making smaller attainable goals all year that I can work up to. But on today's start to the New Year, I ask for a year of peace, abundance, prosperity and blessing to all. I am exciting to begin this New Year because it was this time last year that all things in life began to shift for me! It was on this day a year ago that @kaylakleinman told to me fill out 10 Q and manifest what I wanted for the new year. This time last year I was working at a job that didn't fulfill me, I was halfway through my @nutritionschool course, I was hosting @holistichappening events once a month and I was starting to see a future for myself. But I was scared. I couldn't let go of the insecurities I felt about taking risks, about being an entrepreneur, about failing and succeeding in life. ✖️
Last year one of the questions asked me to describe a significant experience I had - mine were enrolling at IIN and reaching out to Kayla in February 2016. This was the catalyst for all the things that happened this year. And then on Day 6 we were asked to describe anything we wanted to achieve by this time last year. Here's what I wrote: ▪️ quit my corporate job ▪️graduate @nutritionschool as a certified health coach ▪️ host @holistichappening events 2x a month ▪️ plan a wellness retreat ▪️ be happy with my new life path ✖️
You guys- I wrote this list in September 2016 and sent it to the 10Q vault where I never saw it again until last week. And when my answers were revealed, I began to cry. I couldn't believe that I had successfully accomplished every goal I put down on my list. It's hard for me to see everything I've done this year because it feels like a lot and a little all at the same time. So when I can see this checklist where every item is marked off as having been achieved, I am speechless. I couldn't have done anything this year without this community, without the friends I made and the support from all of you. So on this New Years I send love to you for a healthy and happy year!
If you don't shop at @grocery_outlet then you are missing out on some savings, Instagram universe! 🙌🏼🍎🥑🥒🥙How much are you willing to spend for meal prepping at home? Can you cut that number in half?! I bet I can! 🤓💫
I felt the need to follow up yesterday's post with this thought... While there's nothing wrong with having physical and aesthetic goals in our health and fitness journey, that shouldn't be the ONLY thing we are placing our focus on. I believe it's important to dig deeper than that in our healthy living journey. If you've been following me for any length of time, my hope is that you know my thoughts on this topic. Our health is SO much more than muscles, a flat stomach, and toned legs. Make those aesthetic goals for yourself and kill 'em, but let's have goals and a purpose in our healthy living journey beyond looks too.
These two kiddos right here are a big part of the purpose behind my health and fitness habits. I've learned that when I'm exercising regularly, doing something I love, and fueling my body well, I'm a much better mama to them. Not to mention, I'm able to be a positive example to them so that hopefully they will grow to live a long, healthy, and purposeful life.
Dig deep today! What's the purpose behind why you aim to live a healthy lifestyle? Something to think about... 😘
Repetitive stress sometimes takes months and years to show up. Just cause you've been injury free so far, doesn't mean it's going to stay that way. Changing things up also works different muscles, which will make you stronger overall in the future. Variety is the spice of life, folks! 👊👊#DamonMoves
Work used to give me such anxiety. It was this huge, stressful thing I did every day.
When I was done with college I got a job at an amazing steakhouse. I was a ball of anxiety every single day going in. Constantly rethinking my steps. Always thinking I was doing something wrong. Thinking other servers were watching me thinking I sucked at my job. It was a terrible feeling.
I left there for a regular desk job in insurance. Huge change, still a ball of anxiety. This time I dealt with people on the worst days of their lives really. It was rewarding and I busted my ass to be better.
Eventually I started focusing on my mental health and then my physical health. I changed what I was eating and I changed some really terrible habits. I started feeling better. So much better.
And finally, my life just flipped upside down. I quit that 40 hour a week job and went back to my steakhouse home.
This time, I am confident. I am stronger than ever. I know what I'm doing is right. I work with amazing people. I get to serve guests who are out celebrating and I can make that night for them.
I truly enjoy making people smile and I get to do just that on a daily basis.
I believe that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be in my life. This home, this job, this city, this life.
I wouldn't have it any other way.
If I hadn't found the courage to change myself I never would have found what I have now.
Have confidence in yourself.
If you don't, no one else truly will.
Do it for yourself. .
So I'm only on day 3 but I'm already having cravings. It's been tough to be strict! Like I'm craving food I don't even like 😂 I wanted a loaded bake potatoe with sour cream and I don't even like sour cream!! I think one things I can do to improve is to have more snacks on hand. I tend to forget how long an 8 hour shift at work can be and a girl gets hungry! Just to have easy snacks would be great. I'm thinking of bringing more filling snacks with me like broccoli and avocado or some brown rice with peanuts and roasted veggies! Will keep you updated on how this goes!
