If you battle it out with depression, mild - severe, get your vitamin D levels checked. More and more studies are finding an indisputable connection between vitamin D deficiencies and depression.
In 2006, the CDC found that 25% of the population are deficient in Vitamin D. 😔 We’re (well... not me 🙃) spending less time outdoors and when we are outdoors we’re covered in sunscreen.
While vitamin D is found in various foods, most sources don’t contain sufficient amounts to satisfy daily needs. The best way to get a big dose is sensible, but still unprotected, sun exposure. Know your burn time, it’s different for different skin types and in different parts of the world, and put sunscreen (Badger’s is my go-to) on before that time is up. But definitely make the most of those first 20 minutes or so of soaking up the sunshine/happy vitamin! 🌞
