It's quite hard to describe the beauty that lies within the famous Routeburn valley but we think this picture does a pretty good job. Definitely doesn't beat being there in real life though!
Yesterday morning I got up really early to travel to Galway, Ireland #sciencetrip In Galway, I met (and again will meet today) with other PhD students in health psychology who are also on the committee of the early career subdivision of the European Health Psychology Society (EHPS), called CREATE. Together, we plan a 2.5 day workshop that will take place this summer prior to the annual EHPS conference. The topic of this year's workshop will be career development.
In the committee, everyone has a specific role and tasks that come with it. I have been on the committee for 2.5 years now. I started as Secretary, so I had to prepare the agenda for our meetings, take notes etc. Half a year ago, I took over the position of the Chairperson, so now I am convening the meetings and liaise with the society's executive committee.
The last committee meeting took place in September during the last EHPS conference, so it's great to see everybody again! Of course, we need to get a lot of work done, but there is also time for lots of talking, good food and a beer in a local pub. Today, I also hope to see some more of beautiful Galway.
I would highly recommend to you to get involved with early career committees in your university or relevant scientific society. Besides learning about how to plan works and run a scientific society, you get to meet many nice people and have lots of fun!

Well, we started off 2018 with cold. I was able to get healthy just in time to catch the flu. WTH?!? Fortunately I got the flu shot and it dramatically shortened this virus. Unfortunately I was not able to get outdoors and photograph anything this week.
2 years i went to Iraqi Kurdistan. I enjoyed the hospitality of the people and had a good time. Before i landed in Erbil airport I was a little nervous, but it was definetly one of my best experiences ever.
First camping trip of 2018! . .
Met up with some new friends, who all happen to drive Tacoma’s, to head up to Sloquet Hot Springs. Due to a bridge collapse along the West Harrison FSR, we had to take the long but beautiful access through pemberton. It took us maybe 6 hours, but nobody actually kept count. There were so many amazing viewpoints, waterfalls and bridges along the way. It was one heck of a journey!
Bua Tong, or the Sticky Waterfalls. Located about an hour and a half drive north of Chiang Mai. The Sticky Waterfalls found their name from a mineral deposit that is incredibly grippy. Thr rocks feel like a hardened sponge. They are callous and even slightly prickly to the touch but surprisingly give a bit under pressure. Since no algae or slime adheres to the rocks, they are the perfect canvas to climb up the waterfall. It is impressively steep in some places, but with the aid of the limestone deposits on the stones we were able to climb directly up the falls. #waterfalls#thailand#adventure#goplaces .
