Today I had such an uplifting afternoon meeting the gorgeous @hollie_azzopardi and learning so much about the world of essential oils at her first ever Melbourne oils circle!! 🌹🌱🍋 I am so appreciative that Hollie traveled all the way to VIC to share such a beautiful space and her insight with us, especially as I always wanted (but was never able) to attend her circles and other workshops in Sydney before I moved away 💖 I am also so grateful that she continues to share her passions, truths and vulnerabilities with the world through her wellness coaching and lightwork!! ☄💎 About a year ago when I was the sickest, most anxious, fed up and exhausted I've ever been (thanks primarily to an intestinal parasite, Blastocystis Hominis 😝) I discovered a support group created by Hollie, after she had also contracted then successfully eradicated BH. Not only was this group and Hollie's openness about her experience integral to my recovery, but it set me on a truly life-changing path of exploration and learning about self-care and wellbeing. This time of year can be rough for those with health issues as cold season strikes plus lack of sun means it doesn't help with detox plus Vit D can drop making everything 100 times worse. Pre-GAPS I was always sick - pneumonia, whooping cough, tonsillitis, flu, constant lethargy, depression. Diet changed all this...#repost ...This time a year ago we were one month away from starting our GAPS journey. My little guy had been sick for almost a year, was going blue every time he went to sleep and was completely wiped out by every possible bug that was going. We had gotten absolutely nowhere with the NHS despite several hospital admissions and specialist referrals and had just spent £4K on a private tonsils and adenoids removal op at The Portland in London. My little guy limped his way through the recovery like a trouper and we thought we were out the woods when I noticed that he was still struggling. Our family had been to hell and back and facing the fact that things still weren't right nearly took us down. Nearly. That was when I came across GAPS and threw ourselves in full gusto - intro stage 1 - no cheating, no compromise. There was a massive improvement almost immediately. By week 6, Ted had been well for the longest period in a whole year and we KNEW we were on the right path. There were plenty of tough times to come, healing is not linear and the first 6 months is spent kicking out the shite your body has stored all over - to deal with later when strong enough. That time had come and it was rough, but 'die-off and detox' is very distinct from normal illness, and we got through it knowing each day was making us stronger. Now, almost a year on my little guy is so strong 💪, happy, healthy, smart, funny, cheeky and tall too! I'm happier, healthier and have such an appetite to embrace life and everything it offers. Let's quickly talk 🍊. Everyone should get 100mg vitamin C daily. As you can see, this only requires eating 1 or two oranges. So don't tell me you can't get your nutrients in! 200g of oranga aka 100mg vitamin C is 100 calories. Seriously, there is not diet you can't fit that in. (Except when your body has an orange intolerance!) .

I was diagnosed with Dysbiosis back in September and have been following a low #fodmap diet since. It’s been an interesting process using different spices and combinations (no garlic or onions allowed) this creation I have to say was pretty delicious (even better the day after)
Tin of tomatoes
Tin of organic lentils in water (I like @mr_organic)
A @bionaorganic stock cube dissolved in 500ml of boiling water (either vegetable or chicken if you’re not a vegetarian)
Tablespoon of tomato purée
Smoked paprika 1/2 tsp
Ground cumin seeds 1 tsp
Harissa 1 tsp
Asafoetida 1 tsp
Big handful of Spinach
Roasted Aubergine 1 large
Basically roast the aubergine in some rapeseed oil in a preheated oven at 160
Meanwhile cook off the toms in a little garlic oil (garlic oil is fine in moderation on a fodmap diet) lentils and spices adding your dissolved stock cube. When the liquid starts to reduce add in the aubergine (once it’s roasted through) and spinach. Taste and season w/ salt and pepper and hey presto a tasty little lunch or dinner.
I topped mine with a poached egg. Just because.
