JANET REGAN || In Summer 2014, I turned 39. I was at least a stone overweight and, food and fitness wise, was in the worst shape of my adult life 😔
It hadn’t always been that way. In my twenties, I loved being fit. The feeling of having done a hard workout and the rewards you got from it was good. I pushed my body to its limits, just to see what it could do. I kick-boxed, ran marathons, cycled and swam, safe in the knowledge that my body was amazing, and could do whatever I pushed it to do 💪🏻
My thirties changed all that though. I had two kids, and two long, hard labours both of which ended in C-Sections. I felt that my body was no longer amazing. It had let me down when I needed it most, and I no longer treated it with the respect it deserved. For a long time after my second son was born, I didn’t feel that I was up to physical exercise. I was scared to push my body, and felt it would only let me down again, so I stopped trying 🤔
I ate crap and I didn’t exercise, and slowly but surely, the lack of fitness started to take its toll. I got one minor, niggly illness after another. I had no energy to run after my kids and not much enthusiasm for anything anymore 😐
Then, with my 40th birthday looming on the horizon, I joined Fitness Formation, as a 40th birthday present to myself. I am now 41 and can confirm that, though it may not (yet) be quite the body I had in my twenties, I believe that my body is amazing again 🙌🏻
In 2015 , I took part in a 10km obstacle race. I ran a 10km road race in my fastest ever time. I walked the ‘Three Peaks’ as part of my birthday celebrations, and I ran the super-hilly Langdale Half Marathon 👌🏻
Nobody at FF told me to do these things. They would never push anyone to do anything they didn’t want to do. Their contribution was just to steadily and quietly believe in me, to coach me, to push me to places I thought I could no longer go and, to give me my energy, enthusiasm and self-belief back 🙏🏻
Some people turn to food & bad manners during stress and sadness, lately it seems as though my family really relies on exercise and good nutrition. We have enough stress and sadness on our mind & body that we have to try and look after ourselves where we have the control.
Exercise can help you process pain, feel more alive, and embrace the strength inside you! I am so happy that I have finally realized the TRUE POWER of fitness. It's not about the size of your pants, it's about how clear your mental mind is and how healthy your internal body is functioning! 🙌🏼
People pay a lot of money for therapy, when we can take out so much frustration and emotions in exercise! 💃🏼
Mom and I woke up bright and early this morning, went for an hour walk, picked vegetables out of the garden, did our shift shop work out and getting ready to take on the eclipse and NEW MOON today!! I highly recommend everyone take the opportunity to write down your intentions and goals today with the new moon! 🌕🙏🏻 I am really looking forward to doing a new moon ceremony tonight with my mom and Aunty Joanne, I need to get some of my energy back and mind cleared! 💝
My challenge to you all this Monday morning, instead of giving yourself reasons why you can't do something, start giving yourself reasons why you CAN! Don't get lost inside of your negative self talk, that doesn't do a darn thing good for us!! 😘
Ps- I LOVE That my timer caught us laughing 💓
Here is one of our lovely Yogalicious Yogis who is due very soon! Katie has maintained her practice throughout her pregnancy and also attended our 5 week prenatal pregnancy course. Here's what she has to say! '
My yoga practice has changed a lot during my pregnancy, there are many postures I now avoid, I listen to my body and I only do what feels right. Yoga is more important to me than ever now as I'm determined to have a fit pregnancy, it's a great opportunity to strengthen muscles, re connect with my balance and to open up my hips whilst keeping them in line. All of which is great preparation for labor and delivery. (Asanas im loving at the moment are malasana and pigeon pose!) I'm also doing hypnobirthing so the breathing techniques we practice in yoga are super helpful for relieving tension and getting in the zone. I would love a pain relief free and natural birth so I'm thinking positive, a mantra from yogalicious's very own Sasha fierce a.k.a Sasha Ford always sticks in my mind ... 'know that you've got this!' Practicing yoga gives me time to 'just be', to be present ... away from all the boundary crossing remarks made by people to pregnant ladies and away from the stresses of work, it allows time for me to connect and bond with my baby whilst celebrating the changes my body is going through to create life.' Our next prenatal yoga course starts on Wednesday 7th September 19.45-21.00, we still have some spaces left! Il mio sssssspettacolare telefono ha deciso che per qualche strana ragione deve fare le foto al contrario e quindi ecco cosa mi sono ritrovata stamattina. Lago come cielo e via andare.
Io sono già strana di mio, il telefono si adegua di conseguenza orca boia 😂
Everyday is beachday 🏝🐳☀️
Habt noch einen tollen Montag. 😊
CABBAGE ROLLS! I stuffed them with organic mince chicken, chopped parsley and bell peppers and covered the whole thing in my heirloom and lemon-basil sauce before cooking it in the oven. A Sunday night meal done right with plenty of leftovers for lunch the next day. 👅

#Onions and #Oil
Ready to eat my second half of a red onion today for my temporarily coughing as #Onions and #Oil (in my case #Greek#olive#oil ) has been a natural #remedy from #grandparents social times, because of the very strong #natural#antibiotic elements along with #Garlic , #Onion#especially red onion) contains.
#Onion In combination with the olive oil and the many benefits olive oil has for the cardiovascular system, skin and the whole body #health , it becomes even more #beneficial in terms of nutrition, natural nutrition and the #healing effects of it.
I #never use #antibiotics , especially after the allergies they caused me twice... My grandparents included in their regular nutrition always red onions, garlics, green peppers, lots of tomatoes 🍅 and other vegetables, lots of fruits too as they were #farmers and they KNEW VERY VERY WELL HOW PRECIOUS THE LAND AND AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTS ARE.

Vocês não sabem o quanto fica gostoso 😋 EXPERIMENTEM
1 batata doce média (escolher um formato redondo)
1/2 cebola picada
1 dente de alho
Queijo muçarela ralado (opcional)
Sal, pimenta e orégano (a gosto)
Receita do Purê de Batata Doce:

Time for some #motivationalmonday . A year ago i struggled doing one rep at 175 kg / 385 lbs and failed 180 kg / 396 lbs. Swipe 👉🏿 to see and watch the 2 lower videos . Today i did 172,5 kilo / 380 lbs 75%RM box squats 3*5 as part of my competition preps/de-load.
I've had a really demotivated period with bad workouts, but it really motivates me, when I see how far I've come 👏🏿🔥!#keepgrinding
Second week of my new program. Holy shit, today was much harder than I thought it was going to be, but I am not going to let that stop me. It just means I am going to have to push myself harder and get out of my comfort zone. Here's to week 2!
