After the most amazing week with my closest, oldest friends celebrating our girl tying the knot, I’m back at it. We sipped sangria by day, champagne by night and enjoyed every minute of being present in each others company. 
The key to bouncing back after a vacation like this is half nutrition and fitness and half mentality. Coming home with no regrets knowing that with a little hard work, you can easily bounce back. Start your morning with positive affirmations stating your goals for the day, drink loads of water and try to sweat 1x day. I also include a charcoal lemonade every other day for a few days to help breakdown and flush out toxins. I add ginger to boost my immune system- especially important after travelling. 
Here’s my recipe and remember to give yourself just as much respect as you give your friends and family. You absolutely deserve it. 
Lemon- Ginger Charcoal Lemonade:
1 small tsp activated charcoal 
Juice from 1 lemon 
1’ piece of fresh ginger 
1 1/2 cups of water 
Couple ice cubes 
1-2 drops of stevia 
Blend well for at least 40 seconds. - If it’s been sitting for a while, shake it up again before consuming.

On Tuesdays so many people post their best transformation photos and talk about losing weight and their massive changes. If it is time for you to make a change take it step by step. Nutrition is not about being perfect it is about having the proper balance and making smart choices. Most people are not getting anywhere near enough greens in their diet but they are eating all kinds of pizza, fried food and fast acting simple sugars. Change some of that out for Whole Foods (potato, rice, avocado) with asparagus or spinach on a regular basis and watch how fast your body transforms. Because it gives me a hobby I'm extremely passionate about.
Because it empowers the hell out of me.
Because it's good for me.

I'm feeling so dizzy today 😞 At first I thought I had low bloodsugar levels, but after eating carbs I still felt dizzy 🤔
It's also a possibility that I have low iron levels, since I don't eat meat and don't really watch my micro's 🙄 So I also ate some iron-rich products and vitamin C to absorb the iron, but there hasn't been any improvement yet. If anyone has an idea of what the cause might be, let me know!
I did manage to finish my workout, so that's something at least haha. And now I'm on my way to work 😊 I hope I start feeling better soon!

🔱To carry on from my previous post on "Why your diet is failing you", here are my 3 tips that will help you to be consistent and stick to you weight loss goals!

1️⃣Take each week as it comes

📕If you plan to diet for the next 12 weeks for example instead of thinking of how long it is going to be (oh 💩 12 freaking weeks! 😱) and the amount of work that you will need to take try to take each week at a time ("Less food for me", "More cardio sessions", " More training sessions" - I bet all these thoughts will come into your mind at some point). Try to just focus only on the next 7 days ahead instead; this will prevent you from feeling overwhelmed. Too many people quit half way because they "freak" themselves out on how long this will take.

2️⃣Adopt a sustainable diet

📓If you read my stuff, you probably know that I am a huge proponent of "flexible dieting" and having tried all sorts of diets myself I would say that "flexible dieting" is the best one out there! Its easy to comply with and you don`t have to restrict yourself to any kind of "foods" . All you need to be is within your set caloric range and to be hitting your macronutrients. Crash dieting methods (starving yourself, skipping meals) are only going to work for a very short frame of time and will not be sustainable to your goals.

3️⃣Chill out and stop being so hard on yourself

🔗Accept the fact that not everyday is going to be a day whereby you will able workout or hit your caloric consumption perfectly. This is where people struggle as they can be doing well for 2-3 weeks for example and all of sudden once life happens (i.e they fall sick, they become busy, they overate at party), they start to feel bad and feel that they have let themselves down (due to skipping workouts or having over ate) and because this happens they forgot and forgo all the work they have put in and tell themselves "@&$ it! My advice is take it easy and if you screw up, acknowledge it, learn from it and start a fresh! Small steps are always better than no steps at all.

So just started my 3rd week and wanted to show you one of the ways in which i’m tracking my progress. It’s really worth tracking when aiming to reach a goal, in fact its worth tracking in general. It gives you the ability to remind yourself of where you are currently and can remind you of what’s needed to be done to get to where you have to be. This black board is one simple way and it’s quite big so it gets my attention when I go past it. I ordered the sheet of black plastic and stuck it to the wall with those picture hanging strips (they’re pretty strong!). I use a white chalk marker and that can be easily wiped with a cloth. What ways do you track your health/training progression? or if not do you think it’s not needed?

Today's Challenge is to avoid carbs! Can you cut carbs out for the day and see how it makes you feel? Notice if you feel less bloated or if you have more/less energy. It's important to take stock of how different food sources impact our individual bodies.
-  Personally I know I need carbs to maintain my rigorous weekly workout regimen. I still find it valuable to take a day to feel out my bodies reaction to different fuels. -
I do notice a reduced bloat In my stomach when I reduce carbs. So today I traded my usual breakfast oats for a home made acai-bowl. -

Putting yourself first is hard, keeping nutrition in line is hard, working out is hard, loving yourself is hard, investing in your wellness is hard, stacking conditions in your favour is hard, forgiving yourself is hard, moving forward is hard, but that is the beauty in all of this. That is the beauty in everything we do.

We all want the quickest, easiest way to achieve our goals but you need to realize that to see the results you want, you have to do the work. Sometimes you have to grind through the times when you want to quit. Sometimes you need to continue to put forth effort and trust that in the long term, your actions will serve you and help you get to where you want to be.

Think of a time when you worked incredibly hard to get something done. How did it feel when you finished it or achieved it? Pretty damn good I bet. That's because we value things so much more when we have actually put our own time and effort into them and that is the way you need to view yourself and the life you live.

Yes, it's hard, of course it's hard. But if it weren't, would it really be so satisfying to achieve it?
