Sticking to clean eating is no cake walk and requires tremendous amount of dedication and meal planning. But we are social beings and every now and then we meet other social beings to fulfil our social obligations which always happens over food. Now this poses major threat to our hard maintained 'gym diet', so here are my few tips on HOW TO EAT OUT SMART. 😉 🥗 Things to keep in mind before leaving.
Have a protein rich meal 1 hour prior.
20 min after that have a litre of water. This well help you to curb cravings and dodge the starters. 🥗
 Look out for tandoor and grilled items on the menu but avoid the ones which have thick batter. 🥗
Avoid dips and sauces they mostly contain mayonnaise or butter in them.
🥗
No mocktails or sugar based drinks, go for salted lemonade this will again keep you hydrated and cravings at bay.
🥗
Again go for a protein rich meal like roasted chicken, grilled fish, steak or if you're a vegan then god bless you. Make sure you have lots n lots of veggies on the side. 🥗
Most importantly DO NOT look at others' food 😜 just simply avoid what they are eating, no looking means no craving. Also, reach late and again dodge all the starters. 😄

My advice for you today: go back to basics. Look at the bigger picture, not the smaller picture Are you doing these 5 things day in and day out? Can you do them for an extended period of time? Once you can/are- then start looking at a more detailed approach 🤓

However, there's an exception, if you happen to workout then carbs are necessary to help with your energy levels and for your muscles to grow as well. What this means to you is that if you happen to lift weights then you can eat carbs to help with your results, as the carbs will now be feeding the muscles instead of getting stored as fat in your fat cells.🚨🚨🚨

So its not alway easy to get vegies into your kids - but where there's a will there's a way; it just sometimes take patience and a few consistent techniques.

For me, now the kids are getting a bit older and more aware of food options and like to exert their taste preference more openly; the challenges of navigating this while keeping the ✌ have been a bit harder.

Here's some ideas that have worked in our house:
👉Platters - we eat from shared platters at least half of the week. Its quick, appealing, social and gives the idea that you are choosing what you want even if all the options are good ones 😉
👉Whole vegies first - a spread like in the pic is always served before other food options. If there's no other food options to compete with the vegies, they win 🙌
👉 Everyone loves dip - have a few good recipes up your sleeve. Good old hummus or guacamole is usually a winner with kids 👦👧 Its amazing what will go down the hatch if there's dip involved.
👉 Consistency, keep serving it up. When they see you eating and enjoying it, chances are they eventually will as well.
👉 Don't stress - a carrot or a piece of cucumber going in is better than none. If you follow the above guidelines and stay chilled about it, kids will be more inclined to decide they are into it after all 😁

✅lemon peel contains a lot of dietary fibre. On average, 2.5g of it for a medium sized lemon, which will contribute towards your insides running smoothly!
✅lemons can help reduce oxidative stress and acidity in the body. An acidic environment is ideal for bacteria, infections and viruses, not to mention it makes you hold onto that pesky fat, so anything we can do to reduce acidity and help alkalise the body is great. 
If you can't handle the blended ACV and whole lemon drink I recommend, continue with the juice, but find other ways to use your peel. You can freeze and grate your peel to make a lovely topping for a yoghurt, or just grate it straight onto rice, especially with middle eastern flavours it's delicious. *** For extra immune protection I add 10 drops of Grapefruit Seed extract and 3 drops of Oregano oil (with a minimum of 80% carvacrol) to 4 ounces of this recipe.  If I feel any flu symptoms coming on I drink a serving of this combo every 2-3 hours. When a little sneeze happens in our house we know just what to do! With three little ones constantly sharing and spreading germs it makes me a little nervous, especially during cold season. Thankfully I have some tricks in my bag to keep my littles cold short!!
