Despite all the crazy marketing concerning different diets and fads, nutrition is an individual lifestyle. How your body responds to foods differs from your brother, sister, friend or anyone else. It depends on your goals, medications, genetics, diseases, illness, current injury state, current basal metabolism, amount of lean mass and more. A lot of it is science but also trial and error when attempting to figure out what is best for you. The same way doctors might give a person with the same heart condition a different medication, a person who understands and knows nutrition should give you the best starting point for YOUR body and be able to understand how to change the course of action based on your body's response. Certain factors of how we eat are true for everyone but how much and what kind will always vary.
Factors that are the same include eating nutrient dense foods to support and fuel your body functions the most efficient way. If you eat highly processed foods 80-90% of the time, your body WILL feel sluggish and not work as efficiently as you eating whole natural foods 80-90%. If you participate in some sort of physical activity or fitness 3-5 days a week, you will feel stronger, more energetic and confident most of the time but how your body responds to it differs from person to person.

Got this attachment piece so that I can turn my seated desk into a standing desk. Injuring my back has made me much more aware about how my lifestyle affects my body, and it goes beyond what I eat and how I workout. Working 9-5 full time seating at a desk and then doing another 4-6 hours of PhD work seating at a desk puts a lot of strain on the back. At least for the next month I can do the 4-6 hours of PhD working standing.
Super grateful that I was offered the opportunity to bring my office job in house after September, allowing me to work a couple hours seated, a couple standing and to take a few short walks throughout the day in addition to my morning workouts.
