Ladies this is SO true! God has given us AMAZING bodies but so often we hold ourselves back with negativity and bad habits. I am telling you today that you CAN do so much more! I am in better shape now then I was in high school and I was an athlete then. Why? Because I've learned to focus on nutrition AND exercise!

Comer una hamburguesa no es algo tan grave como parece, aquí tome la tabla nutricional de una hamburguesa común en un sitio de comida en la calle (mc Donald’s, Burguer King) ahora bien, si la haces en tu casa con más conciencia puedes obtener incluso menos calorías y/o mayor valor nutricional (porque hacerla uno mismo siempre será sea más saludable). Pero analicemos esto así: 💃🏻 Maria esta hacienso un plan de alimentación pero sus amigas la invitan a salir y ella no quiere ser rómpete grupo entonces ella puede:
1. Pedir una hamburguesa sola (evitando las papas) y con agua (o alguna gaseosa 0kcal que no es nada saludable pero no perjudica la dieta) sumando así solo 409 Calorías a esa comida.
2. Ella también puede pedir el combo y decir: “me vale nada la dieta y pido papas y hamburguesa” rogando a Dios que a esto no le sume una gaseosa o un jugo tendríamos ahí 821kcal porque con la bebida son fácil 1100kcal🤦🏻♀️🙀
3. Ella puede preferir no comer nada y quedarse en casa comiendo un plato con carne, arroz y ensalada de unas 400kcal.
4. También puede pedir una ensalada cesar que con pollo tiene unas 390kcal tamaño mediana (y digo está ensalada porque es la que todos piden) y tiene un montón de salsas y grasa (tocineta y crotones)
5. Puede también pedir una ensalada sencilla sin agregarle NINGÚN ADEREZO, de puros vegetales crudos o cocidos pero sin saltear y sin mezclar con aceites vegetales y obtendría unas 250-310 Calorías dependiendo si le agrega o no pollo. ———————————————

Who doesn't love hummus!? It's delicious, healthy and so easy. Truly fast food but way better for you than McDs or BK. It will keep you full and sustained - great to eat with raw veg or put into a wrap.
This is my go to recipe that is part of our holistic health and nutrition program called The Healthstyle Emporium.
Here is the recipe:
1 can chickpeas, rinsed and drained
2 cloves garlic, peeled and smashed
3 tablespoons tahini
1-2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
pinch of salt and freshly-cracked
black pepper (to taste)
1/4 cup water, or more if needed
optional topping ideas: extra drizzle of olive oil, chopped fresh parsley, crushed red pepper flakes, smoked paprika, toasted pine nuts, chopped roasted red peppers, basil pesto
Add first seven ingredients (chickpeas - salt/pepper) to a food processor and blend until smooth. Add in the water and continue blending until the hummus reaches your desired consistency, adding additional water, as needed.
Garnish with optional toppings and serve immediately, or refrigerate in a sealed container for up to 3 days.
Lunch today was pretty much the last scraps of what I had left in my fridge! Full disclosure: in the thinking of what to make I was super grumpy about it. I defaulted to complaining about being out of groceries instead of being grateful that we always have food and access to food. That not complaining thing is a big piece of self work I'm focusing on this year. .
But- this lunch turned out so yum! I sauteed Brussels, peppers and onion in olive oil, chilli flakes and about 1 Tbsp of teriyaki sauce (Aka all the sauce that was left!) and fried 2 eggs.
Easy peasy 😉

Brunch anyone?! My schedule has been so out of sorts this week with snow days. I threw together a “what’s left in my fridge” concoction yesterday and it actually was super delish so I remade it this am.
•add 1/4 tsp coconut oil and prosciutto to skillet and brown to liking (day 1 was perfect, today I should have browned a bit longer so pay attn to how you prefer)
•Put prosciutto to the side then add spinach and kale to skillet until slightly wilted (don’t overcook! add a tad more coconut oil if needed).
•Add both to a bowl with toppings of choice. I added onions, tomatoes, hard boiled egg, avocado, and this really versatile seasoning from @traderjoes
•Top with your favorite dressing. I am still swooning over Green Goddess from TJ, but you could do compliant ranch or balsamic and that would be so good too!
Mom life. Always have someone on my lap or right next to me. Whether it’s a child or the dog😍🐶😆
Doesn’t make life any harder than anyone else’s, but it sure has its struggles and amazing moments🙏 for every moment I get to have with them, I am very thankful!
I want them to have so many opportunities in life, so we will try and teach them as much as we can🌱 until they spread their wings and fly🦅

▪️Sourced from: Pacific Northwest (PNW), USA
▪️Growing Environment: High amounts of rainfall which the Pacific Northwest gets year round. Lots of water gives the plants a high menthol content, which creates a sweet, minty and flavorful oil.
▪️Part of the Plant used: The Whole Plant
▪️Collection Method: Steam Distillation
▪️Harvest: DoTerra is very selective when choosing growers for their peppermint. A lot of growers did not meet DoTerra’s high standard of quality. One of the growers DoTerra did choose has been growing peppermint for generations, growing it naturally. Harvesting a plant grown in it’s natural environment creates a high-quality therapeutic oil. No need for pesticides or the organic label. Grown in it’s natural environment is far superior.

We had these bacon and cheese muffins from @heavenlyhomemaker this morning for breakfast and they were so good!
They were quick to mix up because I used pre-cooked and crumbled bacon. It was nice to have a savory muffin for a change.
They were a hit with the family and will definitely make it in my keeper binder and on my Tried It, Liked It Pinterest board.

One thing I thought I would do is a little mini series each day for you guys going over each oil that comes in the Premium Starter Kit and how I use them. Thieves Wipes have been a lunch saver for my daughter! Goodness, we are entering the years where stresses are constantly knocking at the door for her. She’d been coming home really upset, and we found out she wasn’t being able to sit by any friends at lunch. When I asked her why, she said it was because she was getting to the lunch room later than everyone because she was stopping by the bathroom to wash her hands before eating (um, yeah... baby girl has only heard this on repeat since BIRTH!! 😂😩🙈 Hand gel will work in a pinch, but the friction from hand washing is always best!! 🙈 ) So we came up with a solution - I got her some Thieves Wipes (infused with the famous Thieves blend!), and I put enough in a ziplock baggie in her lunch box to last her the week. Do you ever get the feeling that you’re not alone? 😂😳 Workout diary: day 47/90, all legs with weights. I upped the weights and I’m feeling good! For most of the workout this little munchkins sat on the mat and lifted the lighter weights, asking questions about the resistance bands and watching the screen. I am proud that we are setting a healthy and strong example for our kids. And her photobombing skills are coming along nicely, lol.

How I wish I got started with essential oils ... Unfortunately, I was hesitant to dive in and questioned everything:

How much are they?
So the first thing I bought when I started with oils 3 years ago was a YL diffuser that came with only two 5ml oils. Of course we fell in love with diffusing and ran through those oils pretty quick; but, I still didn’t understand how to use oils and why where you get them from matters.
We spent wayyyyyy more money over the next few years trying oils from every other retailer out there. I kept using more and more drops in the diffuser with no noticeable benefits.

Friday treats! Popcorn is one of our favourite snacks and I love to make myself as I can use better ingredients like organic corn, coconut oil, pink salt and ghee (clarified butter).
Store bought versions are usually made with sunflower oils or rapeseed oil which I’m not a fan of as they’re super inflammatory on our bodies. Plus most isn’t organic and I try to stick to only organic corn as it’s a common GMO ingredient. Also much more cost efficient to make your own!
I always have a jar of buttery ghee in the fridge and I love it over popcorn. It’s a popular ingredient in Ayurveda and super healing.
