A few years ago, I had an anxiety attack. I didn't tell many people about it at the time -- hoping it wouldn't shatter anyone's opinion of me as having it "all together." Ah ... the allure of the facades we create.
But then, that same year, I realized that All Together was All Too Much Work. I talked to a spiritual mentor. I asked for prayers. I slowed down enough to let myself feel all my feelings. I slowed down enough to let God put both hands on the side of my face, look into my eyes, and tell me to "breathe ... just breathe."
I am learning to spot the triggers of an anxiety attack coming on. I am learning to sit still long enough to hear my Father whisper, "breathe."
Key word there? AM learning. I am. Am. This isn't over for me. The GOOD news is, I'm more honest with myself about myself. The bad news is, there's not a magic line one crosses where you get this all figured out. If I told you there was, I'd just be living another kind of "I've Got It All Together, Baby."
Where are you today, friend? Are you worn out, spiraling? God is saying it to you ... "BREATHE."
That's what this book is for me -----> Introducing: "A Moment to Breathe." I'm one of dozens of authors who have contributed to this 365-day devotional. It's releasing next month.
I'm telling you about it early, because if you pre-order a copy of the devo from Lifeway, you get the free mug. (Mug Offer only available at Lifeway stores, including online)
Also, the publishers have designed a gorgeous FREE 10-Day Sampler of the first 10 days from the book. Get the sampler by signing up at the link in my profile.
I contributed to this book -- BECAUSE I NEEDED THIS BOOK. I am guessing you need room to breathe too ... to hear the whisper of God in your soul, saying, "Girl ... Just breathe."
I am the beloved. Right here I belong.
Double-tap if you claim this too!

You don’t see a ton of celebrations and fanfare welcoming in Monday, do you? And I totally understand why. Some of us don’t enjoy what we’re doing and fewer of us still haven’t been taught how to manage our stress. But I believe that a grateful heart changes the way we see the responsibilities of life. So today, let’s CELEBRATE another Monday because we are breathing, there are people that love us, and we have a whole week to shape into our own! Yay for Monday! Now let’s start the week right and drop something you’re thankful for below...
My background in studio art from my college days taught me that presentation of work is absolutely key. I'm still obsessed with my wooden watch from @jordwatches but the packaging makes me swoon too. It arrived in an actual treasure chest -- a wooden box with a secret drawer, and a tiny burlap pillow. Yes. Please. I wear the Frankie Dark Sandalwood + Slate watch, which is made of 100% natural, hand-finished woods -- my artist's eye is in love with how flawless the craftsmanship is. My adventurer's soul loves that it keeps track of my time while foraging.
Head over to my bio to learn how you can get 25% off a wooden watch of your own, and also read about how I use it for exploring! Maybe find yourself a glass of wine or whiskey, and maybe order yourself a Christmas present 🌲🌲🌲

At the end of the day, I am SO grateful that my blessings are bigger then the problems ☀️
Juicing is one of my favorite things to do. You can play around with different colors during the week and it’s an easy way to increase vegetable intake. Since it’s Wednesday I went for the color green. Celery not only tastes wonderful , it is great in reducing inflammation in the body, benefits the skin, and can also relax the muscles helping lower blood pressure. Isn’t nature amazing!
God is working in your life. You maybe not see it now but in time God will show his faithfulness to you. #incourage
A day late on #litcritdec17 but I'll just post twice today. Day 12 - a book that gives me hope.
⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐ Craving Connection - 30 Challenges for Real-Life Engagement by the #incourage community. ⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙⭐🌙 There are many reasons I like this book. I'm still working my way through it but I love that it highlights other women my age struggling to make friends.
Fun Fact: I don't make friends very easily. It's true! Most people's first impression of me is a very pinched, hyper-corrective and Hermione-esque 'know-it-all' vibe. I think they hear the way I speak (very precisely, thanks to years of theater) and my love of knowing things comes out in conversation. I love to learn and know and discuss, which in all honesty may put people off. I have a large vocabulary I use frequently (some people don't like that either). Anyway, it's a perfect Molotov cocktail of social disaster.
This year I've been especially introspective about it. I've had the great pleasure of making 2 new friends this year, who are very dear to me.
This book gives me hope that there are other people out there who, like me, struggle to really connect. And that there are others who maybe want to be my friend.
Walking barefoot on grass is a great way to relieve stress, you get vitamin D boost and a peaceful atmosphere. When you connect to earths natural energy by being barefoot on grass it leads to an exchange of energies that clean and neutralize your body to get rid of the negative energies.
