Khatta Meetha Baingan - sweet and sour eggplants is a delicious Bengali dish. I don’t know why only Gujarati food is identified with the sweetness of food when actually Bengali and Andhra food have the sweet and savory thing going too. For this preparation, the eggplants are zapped in the oven with oil, salt and turmeric. Heat oil, add hing and Panch Phoran (mustard, fennel, cumin, nigella and fenugreek seeds) water, tamarind, salt, paprika and..... jaggery!!!! Cook the sauce for a while until it thickens, then add the eggplants and cook some more!!! This can be served with rotis or ideally should be pressed into rice and eaten with fingers!!! Yum!!!!! https://youtu.be/_MeEM19_6OE #vegan#vegetarian#glutenfree#indianfood
Date Night Done Right - after an AWFUL week of being sick and work stresses I left work feeling defeated. I honestly wanted to crawl in bed and sleep. Alas my stomach said FEED ME and went to Chutney to try their entrees.
Ordered Rogan Josh and Super Spicy Lamb Vindaloo with of course Samosa Chaat to start 💁🏻♀️. Samosa Chaat again was on point I got the Mild this time and was much more manageable. The Rogan Josh was tender tasty and Mild could of probably used a little more heat but my stomach is probably like - nah girl we good ☺️. Butter Naan was good very flaky not thick and fluffy more like a paratha. Lamb Vindaloo was SPICY but tasty. Ambience is lacking its a no frills place but food solid B. Happy Friyay! What’s everyone else doing tonight? #datenight#happyfriday#friyay#cheerstotheweekend#indianfood#spicyfood#5280#denverfoodie#foodielife#denvercolorado#coloradofoodie#foodstagram
Amsterdam Day 4: Tasted the difference between butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Butter chicken is creamier and sweeter. Ripped roti tasted better being dipped into that one. The less dense masala curry had more flavor depth with paprika, garam masala, and other spices which kicked up the bite. Preferred a spoonful of this one with basmati rice. #indianfood#motimahal#amsterdam#foodporn
