“Moment of complete honesty”
1. I’ve really been eating way too much junk lately, like that cheat meal that ends out lasting months.
2. I also haven’t been exercising much either.
3. I’m really loving the new White Famous tv series, re the quote “Moment of complete honesty”.
I’ve got plenty of reasons for all this, work, too busy, blah blah, but needless to say I’m starting to feel pretty ordinary, my waist is expanding, & my recent blood results are going in the wrong direction, so I need to do something now!
Luckily I know exactly how to fix all these problems…
1. Start having PrimalKind again & get back on a keto diet.
2. Start doing some Intermittent Fasting (IF).
3. Start exercising & maybe stop watching so much TV (or at least do some exercise while watching TV).
So on Friday I started making these Supersize PrimalKind Smoothies, each smoothie has 2 serves of PrimalKind, so they’re 1000+ calories & around 1 litre (or 33oz for our US fam).
I’m also adding a bunch of other stuff, a little extra Protein & Creatine (for workouts) & other veggie powders I have around the house.
I originally thought I’d have one for lunch & another for dinner. It took me ages just to finish one, and then I was so full, I didn’t end out having any dinner.
Now I’m having one per day (for lunch) & maybe snacking on some celery or carrots for a light dinner/snack, then fasting until lunch the next day.
I wish I tested my ketone levels before I started, but after eating Pizzas & Chips, I’m pretty sure my ketone levels would have been a big fat zero.
Now it’s Wednesday morning (5 days in) my ketones are 1.1 (yay, back in Keto), my pants are already feeling looser, & I’ve started exercising (so far, a 1 hour Yoga class, a 5km jog, & a 30min gym session on my arms).
I’m really happy how quick I could get back into Keto, this is obviously what Mark Sisson (@marksissonprimal) talks about in his new Keto Reset book, about building the Metabolic Machinery to become more Metabolically Flexible & more Metabolically Efficient.

Sooo excited @headbangerskitchen came out with an amazing egg-free keto naan bread today and I just couldn’t resist trying it. It’s amazing! Having one piece for lunch with mixed veggies stir-fried in coconut oil and korma spice mix (coriander, onion, cumin, tumeric, garam masala, garlic etc etc). I’m obsessed. This is fantastic.

What is the health?
Following on from my last post, let's preface this by saying there's lots of important components to this. Total energy intake , quality of foods , macronutrient profile , micronutrient profile, stress, sleep, social relationships, interaction with nature etc. this is going to focus on food. While I do advocate a flexible approach that includes some 'less healthy' foods because they do have their place.
At the end of the day I'm bullin' for health. With that said this is sort of a 'hit list' of foods I like for that purpose. Variety is key, because that's where the nutrients are. Which is not the same as saying 'everything in moderation' 🙄. And all of these won't apply to people with specific health conditions - I can't cater for every single individual in a somewhat generalised post. That's where 1to1 coaching comes in 🤓
So in short, 'these good, eat these' 🤗
As much vegetables as you can in a multitude of colours and varieties. Eat as many different types as possible in your regular rotation 🥗🥙🥕🥦🥒🍆
Lots and lots of herbs and spices. Lots 🌶 🌿 .
Protein from animals that had a relatively good/happy life for the most part. Meats, dairy, eggs, fish, poultry, seafood, game 🥩 🍣 🍳 🍗 🍤
Some grains, nuts and legumes. Roots and tubers like potatoes 🍠🥔 🍚
Lots of fresh or frozen fruit 🍇 🍉 🍓 🍏 🍌🍐🍊
Fermented foods like raw sauerkraut , kimchi , kefir , tempeh , natto, pickles, yogurt, cheeses 🧀 .
Organ meats like liver, heart, kidney etc. if you're really getting after it!
Legit fat sources like extra virgin olive oil, avocado oil, coconut oil, butter and/or fats from the foods mentioned above 🥥 🥑
To sum up maybe a vegetarian that eats some meat? 🤷🏻♂️

Dehydrator kale chips. My goal is to eat as many cruciferous veggies with healthy fats as I can in a day.
Confession: I have never gotten kale chips to turn out right in the oven. They are perfect every time in the dehydrator though. I just tear up kale, mix with olive oil and salt. Spices if I am in the mood. Any time I am in the mood for a snack I can munch on these and know they fit my diet goals. What are the ways you get more cruciferous veggies in your diet?

Happy Friday! We made it! Sorry I haven’t been on much this week, things have been a little hectic! Breakfast this morning is my favorite coconut and MCT coffee with plain black Sheetz Sumatra coffee added in.

Cold weather = Soup. And soup is an amazing way to pack in a crazy amount of nutrients. Especially as we go into cold and flu season. What are your favorite veggies for soup?
Did you know that per dollar spent, purple cabbage has the most anti-oxidants? A super food, cruciferous veggie at a low price. I never knew what okra was growing up and now I never make a veggie soup without it. I chopped up everything and threw it all into a giant pot and let it simmer. I serve it with half of an avocado, some avocado oil, and a healthy serving of hemp seeds. A complete vegan-keto-paleo meal.
I have been eating it this week. Took some to my mom and my mother-in-law and froze some in individual servings for busy weeks when I don't have time to cook.
1 head of purple cabbage
2 baby bok choy
1 bag frozen okra
1 cup portabella mushrooms
1 cup shiitake mushrooms
3 quarts vegetable broth
2 tsp salt, or to taste
Serve with avocado, avocado oil, and hemp seeds
What an excellent day to curl up inside with a new book ❄️📚 I've pretty much spent the whole day reading (occasionally leaving bed to snack on seed crackers, pickles, and garlic cashew cream cheese) 😋 #noregrets
Breakfast number two is tofu scramble on avocado toast. I’ve been eating the same things over and over again and I don’t really get tired of them because they’re so satisfying. I eat this almost everyday. And it’s so versatile you can change up the spices and the sides depending on your mood. #veganketo
