It is important for us to exercise, eat healthy and also take vitamins and minerals to keep our immune system stronger. Unfortunately, some of the food we eat today has little to no nutritional value and as a result our immune system gets weaker and free radicals and disease will attack our bodies and bring a lot of avoidable and unnecessary stress. ----------------------------------------------------
Some might say that they eat fruits + vegetables which is great. However, I read somewhere that an apple 🍎 today only has 1/8 of the nutritional value it had when our grandparents were our age. It's like ordering a box of pizza 🍕 , but only 1️⃣ slice out of 8️⃣ slices is actually good for you - if it makes sense using an unhealthy yet delicious example 😂. ----------------------------------------------------
I take my customized vitamins to stay healthier and stronger internally and as a preventive measure but it also gives me ongoing health benefits. After spending the last three days in the hospital after my husband suffered a heart attack I had time to reflect on a lot of things. The doctors attributed much of his disease to his unhealthy habits in nutrition and lack of regular exercise over the years. It scared me because even though I worked hard in the last couple of years to get healthy and adopted new sustainable daily habits, I have no idea what lurks in my body and damage I did to it over the years. All I can do is continue to be consistent and really focus on living a healthy lifestyle going forward.
I'm amazed on how unhealthy America is and know first how simple to live healthier. Spencer's heart attack will forever change how I view health and fitness now. I even had a frank discussion with my 26 year old daughter on the importance of establishing healthy changes now that affect her life later.
Yes, I get it, it must easier not to plan out what your eating or taking time out of your busy schedule to exercise. I guess I re-wired my brain to thinking I'm taking care of myself and my future. It's not selfish taking care of yourself. Being selfish is not taking care of your health and end up being a burden to others when you are seriously ill. 🏃🏻♀️🍎🥑🍗🏋🏻♀️🚴♀️🥊
