told ya today would be a sweaty selfie 💁🏼 1.5 mile walk/run in the books. not following anything specific for right now, just working on getting at least 1 mile in, so i can build up my endurance so that way in 22 weeks i can RUN 13.1!!! 😅 i have the confidence and motivation...i know i can do it! i didn’t make it to the grocery store today, but i have some stuff to last me until next week and if i need something aldi is right around the corner! time for a shower, spark, then a controlled dinner with the in laws. controlled as in, i am NOT binging. i already have my meal planned 💜 ahhh, it feels nice to have things in order 😌

My dad is (in)famous for taking all the fading contents of the fridge, throwing them in a pot, letting it bubble away like a witch's cauldron all day, and then serving it up as 'soup'. 🙄 Once, a friend was over for this treat and stared in horror as half a lemon bobbed up and down in the dark green contents of her bowl of 'soup'. 🤢Unbelievably, 9 times out of 10, his soup actually tastes pretty damn good, and if he can achieve that, so can you. Plus - it's November - so get your soup on! As my dad has proven time and time again, you can put basically ANYTHING in there, making it a brilliant food waste fighter. Exactly 1 year ago I had the shocking realization that I had gotten fat. As a teen I was always the skinny fat girl with kickin curves and low muscle tone, and I was proud of it. But somehow, the skinnyfat girl got fat. .
I had a moment of: WTF? Why didn’t anyone tell me? How did this happen? Blah blah blah->victim mode. .
I had to upend that mentality and toss it over board because I know how it happened. I watched it happen daily. I made choices and they packed on. I still waited 6 weeks from that day to finally DO something about it. .
I made a decision. A conscious CHOICE to take care of myself and committed to it.
That 1 decision started a whirlwind of choices, commitments, and ACTION to take control of my life and my health. .
Don’t be like me guys. I waited until I couldn’t walk because I had tweaked my back for the last MF time. It was awful, barely able to move and hold my kiddos on Christmas morning.

Change is inevitable. We make our own selves suffer when we force ourselves to do, like or keep things in our life that doesn't serve us any longer. We wonder why we have not moved forward or why we get stuck in the same place, repeating ourselves over and over again and it is because this is a form of holding onto the past. Listen to that part of you that says something is over so you have more time to focus on the present moment to be the beautiful person you ought to become. We have gotten so used to the idea of needing to keep something in our lives if it was achieved or told we have to be like everyone else, forever playing a character that is not you. No wonder your angry, depressed, insecure and have anxiety. It is a lot easier than you think to decide no more and start living the life you want too. The other day I drank a lot at a friends. I woke up the next day feeling super depressed. As I layed there I remembered what Jim Carey said about depression. He said depression is your body in need of deep rest from the character you have been playing. So I layed there and watched this deep rest and allowed it to happen. I asked myself what do you want? I want to surf! So feeling like shit I got up, got dressed up and rode my bike an hour to Sumner because that's where the surf was. I went there with full intention of getting a job and nothing would keep me from it. Guess what? I got that job because I wanted it. The point is, if you are serious enough about what you want, what you want to change and how to better yourself as a human you can have those things. You just have to accept that no one else is going to do it for you and invite that fear of change into your life!!

Haven’t done a straight bar deadlift in a while but i decided today was the day to jump right back into it. Hit 205 for a 5x5 and they all went up like butter.
I was still pretty sore from Friday’s lift that included some really heavy squats and RDLs so you could say I’m happy with how easy this deadlifting session went.
I followed up with some back work. I must admit back is my least favorite day of the week but today was a really great, well-focused session. I’m really missing @sarah.kert as a back day buddy though.
Time to get sappy. These past 4 weeks have been a very tough time for me. I don’t know if it’s seasonal or what but I’ve turned to exercise to help cope with all my emotions. Happy, sad, mad, beat down, etc. We all have heard about downward spirals and the snowball effect. I’ve decided to take the time to create an uphill spiral or snowball effect for my life. I’m training 4-5 times a week and seeing an absolute incredible transformation in myself. Boosting my confidence, making me want to lift more, making me happier, giving me more positive outlooks on life. It’s never too late to start. All it takes is one simple step at a time. Start with doing something for you, you might be surprised about how incredibly easy it is to find yourself getting lost in a positive mindset that brings you to even higher places than you imagined you’d be. And that, my friends is my insight of this beautiful Sunday. It’s a week of being thankful, and I’m so incredibly thankful for life.

Happy Sunday Runday!! I did my living room workout in lieu of a run and it was basically geared towards making you sweat as much as possible!! Wowwwww!! Proud of myself for making it through!! 😫😫💪💪 I just love logging my workouts in my tracker app and getting a sense of accomplishment and a sweet note of encouragement!! It is just the best, helps keep me going!!
Today I had a bit of a meltdown. It has been a long time since I did a good workout and today showed me that.
These last 8 months have been difficult but in particular, the last 4 or 5 months have been the worst. Emotionally I have been in a really bad place but am starting to feel better.
It all stemmed from my work. I had been running on very little sleep, like 3-4 hrs/day because I couldn't adjust my sleep schedule for graveyard shift.
But anyways, I'm getting back on track now and am definitely feeling motivated.
