I've been a vegetarian for seven years and I don't miss meat at all. Okay, maybe I miss bacon 🥓 which is basically the peanut butter of the meat world...but anyway, one of the reasons I don't miss meat is because of tempeh. It's a healthy, all-natural, meat alternative that isn't creepily squishy like tofu. And this particular recipe is the best tempeh I've ever had. Hello all! My life has been in a bit of a transition lately. I’ve moved a couple times in the last couple of months and I have yet to really have a kitchen to call my own. Which is why I haven’t been posting many vegan/veggie recipes lately. Hopefully eventually I’ll get back into the swing of things! I’m learning to try to be comfortable with the uncomfortable. It’s a work in progress lol. Anyways with the Christmas season coming up, I found these at the store today and I thought that they were a perfect alternative for Christmas “turkey dinner”. I am not vegan or vegetarian by any means, but I do think it’s important to enjoy meatless meals often. I would say about 60-70% of my weekly meals are plant based and include no meat, chicken or eggs. That’s just what works for me and what makes me feel good in my soul to not overdo it on eating lots of animal products - although I do enjoy a nice piece of steak every now and then 😋.
Beans and quinoa are some of my daily go-to’s; black and Peruvian beans being my favorite. Quinoa is actually considered a complete protein and has all the amino acids your body needs so it’s perfect for vegans/vegetarians. Peanut butter is a good source too, but I would rather have almond butter than peanut butter any day, but not as much protein in that.
Designate a day or two during your week to commit to eating meatless meals: such as Meatless Mondays. There’s a ton of recipes on Pinterest for vegetarian/vegan meals so there’s really no excuse.
As an 18 stone bodybuilder (252lbs) I usually run through a couple of pounds meat a day so recently I decided to forgo meat a couple of days a week and it hasn't dented my physique or gym performance at all. 👌🏻💯 I don't go vegan or anything too crazy - I'll still eat eggs and drink milk on my meatless days. 💪🏻I feel lighter and less bloated on my meatless days but still love my chicken, turkey and fish just not everyday. 😉🤔🤔
