I had such a great first hang out with @ashleymanta the CannaSexual yesterday! We went live on her Facebook page and mine at the same time!!! Two days into a week long women's leadership retreat in #tulum 🙏🌴Yesterday we had a break from workshop time, so I took the space to receive a Mayan bodywork session. The body worker specializes in reading your energy needs as he works on you. At the end of the session I was told that my legs have blocked circulation and that it relates to my heart. He went on the say, "in life we often make choices based on beliefs about what we think we have to do and need to do and not what we LOVE to do. And we forget that we do not know if tomorrow will come. Choose what you love." I share this because earlier that day I had shared with the group my desire to write poetry and books and to devote a good amount of time in my life for this deep work that was calling me, yet there are things I feel I 'have' to do first that keeps me from it. Can you relate to this? Then I read this today...'it is not the size of your dreams that determines whether or not they come true, but the size of the actions you take that implies their inevitable arrival.' What dreams in your life deserve more action and less dreaming? Let's rise to our potential together! When I was trying to workout and eat healthy, by myself, without accountability partners I struggled.
I struggled hard. 😣😳 I gave up too easily. I had too many slip ups. I didn't have someone to push me or encourage me.
So I turned to coaching. 🙌
Becoming a coach was my first accomplishment. It said "I'm going to be held accountable." 🤸
And that was just the beginning. It allowed me to Join an online support community, and I've gained friends, the most beautiful souls I could have ever met. They push, encourage, support, love each other. 👭👭 Coaching allows me to help and mentor other ladies. This one was very tricksy to take off the wall. To bring my legs away from the wall I had to really reach my bum up but keep my legs from coming too far forward. It's is so easy for me to crunch into my low back, but so bad for my body! Training my parts to function most effectively is the real challenge here!✨💜

I was watching a live Facebook video a little earlier in one of my new favourite groups and Kathrin was talking about being grateful. She gave some examples of things that she has listed out in the past: her eyes to see, coffee mugs, the ability to feel and hear, her diffuser that was currently diffusing oils in the room... The moment she mentioned the diffuser, I could smell orange like the orange essential oil I have and have used in the past. My orange oil is currently sealed in its bottle on a top shelf of a closet all the way down the hall. My diffuser, which is not running (and which only contains water at the moment), is all the way down the hall behind another closed door.⠀
It's the little things. I've been working to increase my vibration, change my frequency, and focus on the positive. I go to bed many days feeling like an absolute failure in relation to those changes. What we focus on is what we attract so I quickly try to reframe my thoughts. No, I'm not a failure. I am a human. One that has been taught by society, by upbringing, LIFE, to think, act, and feel certain ways. This whole "woo woo" Universe and crystals and vibrations and manifestation thing? SAD- Seasonal Affective Disorder | And just like that, we officially bid summer farewell! The abrupt change can not only be a shock to our physical bodies, but mentally as well.
According to the Canadian Mental Health Association in 2016, research suggests that 2-3% of the entire Canadian population suffers from SAD, while up to 15% suffer from a milder form of the disorder.
Women are EIGHT times as likely to suffer than men, with the odds being higher in individuals who have a familial or personal history with depression.
SAD can cause debilitating lethargy, weight gain, social withdrawal, depleted motivation, intense cravings for carbohydrates, feelings of depression, and so on.
So while we're only on day 2 of this gloomy Fall weather in BC, it's never too soon to take preventative measures.
1. INVEST IN A LIGHT BOX. 60-80% of SAD patients see improvements with the use of only 15-30 minutes of light therapy per day.
Note: Artificial UV rays can still cause damage and overexposure can lead to side effects such as headaches and eye pain. Contact a family doctor or light therapy specialist to ensure you are getting the right treatment while minimizing potential side effects.
2. EXERCISE. This is a no-brainer! Endorphins released during exercise help fight brain fog, and combat the symptoms of depression.
3. BE OUT AND ABOUT. Get out of the house as often as possible. Especially on unusually well-weathered days. The fresh air and contact with natural light will boost energy as well as Vitamin D levels.
4. INVEST IN A HEALTHY DIET. Stay away from junk food as much as possible and invest in a nutritional whole food diet plan. Foods that naturally boost serotonin include: eggs, dairy, tofu, salmon, turkey, nuts/seeds, pineapple, turmeric, the list goes on!
5. TALK THERAPY. Whether it's with warm, supportive friends and family, or seeking out cognitive behavioural therapy with a licensed therapist, sometimes the best remedy is just talking things out and feeling connected to others.

I slightly modified the recipe found in Amy Ramos' book: "Complete Guide to the Ketogenic Diet For Beginners" by upping the Stevia a bit and by adding some coconut flakes for an extra touch. Swipe left to see how I made them and read below for the recipe! They literally take 5 minutes to make and 10 minutes in the fridge to harden. Let me know what you think!
Ingredients for 12 Fat Bombs: * 3/4 cup coconut oil
* 1/4 cup cocoa powder
* 1/4 cup almond butter * 1/8 teaspoon chili powder * 6 drops liquid stevia * Coconut flakes
1.) Line a mini-muffin tray with paper cupcake liners
2.) Turn the stove to low heat and put the following ingredients in a small saucepan: coconut oil, cocoa powder, almond butter, chili powder, and stevia.
3.) Heat the mixture until the coconut oil has melted, and then use a whisk to thoroughly blend all of the ingredients.
4.) Pour the mixture into the muffin cups and put the tray in the fridge for about 10 minutes, or until the treats are nice and firm.
5.) Put the bombs in a container and keep in the freezer until you are ready to serve.
6.) Enjoy! .
