Pocket review for Gringo: for those who love the kind of movie like Snatch that doesn’t really have a main theme just a cluster of events happening and you keep getting you surprised to where it is going this is the perfect movie for you. You will laugh from beginning to end with the bad or not so bad luck if you think better of the main character Harrison, that keeps getting screwed over scene after scene but in the most funny way possible. It’s not the type of art movie but will most definitely worth the movie ticket. Charlize Theron is simply amazing as the pirate mouth gal and the whole cast looks like having so much fun during it that it just gives us joy to watch. And since the world have been so serious and crazy lately it’s good to watch something that will make you laugh hard for a change. Thank you for that Gringo! #pocketreview#moviereview#gringo#charlizetheron#movienight
I have been waiting five years for this....Here we go watching a real movie together for the first time. The Land before Time, one of my 3 favorites. Since this night has been a success I think we will watch the lion king next, then Aladdin!!!! #movienight#vsco#childhoodunplugged#mypeeps
The Strangers: Prey at Night 🙎🏼♀️😐🙎🏻♀️
The Strangers ‘08, is one of my favorite slasher/psychological Horror movies, and a paragon of how to do subtly, misdirection, and suspense, so this movie has a lot to live up to. It wasn’t better but a very good sequel. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to watch the first one before this one, so I may being do this one an injustice. That being said, this one dose stand out on its own, and does capture some of what the first did.
This one, I felt like was more about the Strangers, albeit they were limited on screen and the antagonist, they seem to push the narrative, and I don’t mind it. So, other than the initial bathroom scene which was done very well, I really didn’t root for the protagonist, like I did if the first one, until the end. Although, these protagonist did do something the first couldn’t...
Speaking of, I really enjoyed the final act, it may be my favorite part, the way it picks up, and the unrelenting stalking. You’re never hidden part, I really enjoyed, especially the truck part. I also really enjoyed the playground tunnel part👌. ————————————————————
I was not a fan of the daughter, or the teenager characters, there seems to be an epidemic of bad writing for teens.
This one suffers from a hurry up age of film with a runtime of 85mins, smh. Instead of the better slow burner of 107mins of the original. Those lost minuets could have been a perfect moment to tie into the first, this one just feels random, which might have been the point. I was also missing some of the stalker-ish messing with its prey in this one. ————————————————————
Don’t get me wrong it’s there, theres some dread, some gore, anxiousness and a some great moments and scares, just not the slow burn toying I wanted like in the first. I also would have preferred some more background into the character, but then again in a horror/thriller you don’t really need background just bodies. I jump a few times👍. ————————————————————
Go See it, Watch the first before, lower you expectation, but not by a lot, it was fun ride either way. 4/5
