I LOVE FOOD 😃🥚🥗 People often say things like "I don't like salads" "I can't pronounce 'quinoa' never mind know how to cook it" "I don't have time to change my diet".... ALL EXCUSES!! I've made some myself over the years but this time I have allowed myself time to make nice dishes, I have learned how to cook different things and make sure the fridge is always stocked with food I'll eat 🥑🥕🥒🌶 Over the last 6wks I have really focused more on my nutrition, I make sure to eat superfoods everyday, I eat kale/spinach/nuts & seeds regularly and I have greatly cut down on my dairy intake. On Monday I had a scan to check for cysts on my ovaries (which I have had consistantly since I was 1st diagnosed with PCOS over 15yrs ago) and the radiographer said 'there's not one cyst on either of your ovaries, there are plenty of follicles and all looks healthy' When I told him about my journey to date he said the weightloss would have helped a lot but it's the food that would have most control over my hormone balance, which for me caused the cysts. LESS PAIN DOING SHOULDER PRESS THIS WAY 😎💪🏽
I NEVERRRR really do shoulder press, because everytime I do I get a nasty aching pain in my rotator cuff . . If I do Arnold press then I'm fine but when I do Barbell Shoulder Press or the normal Dumbell shoulder press I get pain without fail ! 😑
So I improvised a bit that day and warmed up for like 3 sets 😅 but that 2sec pause at the bottom really really made a difference, its like my body could keep up with each rep and I didn't gave ANY pain at all 😁. This is a big thing for me because I've never really gone heavy on a seated shoulder press because of that pain, which is effecting my growth and the mass of my shoulders . . . But this could be a game changer ! 👊🏽🔥

•Warm up- Don't really have a name for this, but tie a resistant band just above your knees, with a wide stance keep your butt low and your chest up and you slowly move side to side
• Warm up 2- Again don't have a name for this, but it trains explosive movements, starting on your knees jump up onto your feet without using your hands
• Romanian deadlifts - 3 sets of 10 and a 4th set until failure, with a slow eccentric phase
• Barbell back squats - 4 sets until failure
• Reverse lunges - 3 sets of 10 reps on each side. Make sure to drive that front foot through the floor in order to stand back up
• Hip thrusts- This was literally the first time I've tried doing this exercise and I'm not sure how I feel about it but it gives a great squeeze in the glutes. 3 sets of 15
• Hamstring curls- This was my finisher, I did 3 sets to failure with a drop set at the end
The best part of taking charge of your life is having the intestinal fortitude to change. Not just your mind, but body and soul. Becoming better than your yesterday is something that anyone can do. I'm not saying that Bodybuilding is the cure all to everybody's specific problems, but it is how I have taken charge. Your health is important. The only thing that is 100% certain is that we have this specific time in the universe to live our very best. I personally know that I'm not at the very best yet, but I work at it with every brand new set of 24 hours I get every damn day. If you want to change, then change. Don't be afraid to GROW in more ways than one. GROWTH is uncomfortable, but it is necessary to move forward and on in this life. Mosquitoes only lay their eggs in calm, stagnant water. BE THE RUSHING, AND POWERFUL RIVER! Let's conquer this life! GETCHA SOME AND GROW BABY GROW!
