On a more serious note, a lot of clients are under eating protein when I look deeper into their nutrition. Protein is the building blocks of your body and is vital for repairing and rebuilding muscle fibres that are broken down through training. You need to be eating around 1 gram per pound of bodyweight each day.

Where should you get this protein from within your diet?

Mainly from whole foods such as meat, fish, eggs, some dairy products and plants. You can also supplement these whole food proteins with protein powders and/or bars.

The guys over at @myhiitkit make protein taste amazing 🙌 having one of these bars a day as a treat is a great way to get protein into your diet without having to turn to bland chicken, fish or eggs.

I don't recommend eating copious amounts of these bars but every now and again as part of a healthy balanced diet is A-OK 👌

I LOVE FOOD 😃🥚🥗 People often say things like "I don't like salads" "I can't pronounce 'quinoa' never mind know how to cook it" "I don't have time to change my diet".... ALL EXCUSES!! I've made some myself over the years but this time I have allowed myself time to make nice dishes, I have learned how to cook different things and make sure the fridge is always stocked with food I'll eat 🥑🥕🥒🌶 Over the last 6wks I have really focused more on my nutrition, I make sure to eat superfoods everyday, I eat kale/spinach/nuts & seeds regularly and I have greatly cut down on my dairy intake. On Monday I had a scan to check for cysts on my ovaries (which I have had consistantly since I was 1st diagnosed with PCOS over 15yrs ago) and the radiographer said 'there's not one cyst on either of your ovaries, there are plenty of follicles and all looks healthy' When I told him about my journey to date he said the weightloss would have helped a lot but it's the food that would have most control over my hormone balance, which for me caused the cysts. I NEVERRRR really do shoulder press, because everytime I do I get a nasty aching pain in my rotator cuff . . If I do Arnold press then I'm fine but when I do Barbell Shoulder Press or the normal Dumbell shoulder press I get pain without fail ! 😑

So I improvised a bit that day and warmed up for like 3 sets 😅 but that 2sec pause at the bottom really really made a difference, its like my body could keep up with each rep and I didn't gave ANY pain at all 😁. This is a big thing for me because I've never really gone heavy on a seated shoulder press because of that pain, which is effecting my growth and the mass of my shoulders . . . But this could be a game changer ! 👊🏽🔥

Working on OWNING my body STATICALLY before progressing to OWNING it DYNAMICALLY. Doesn’t this make sense? It sure does to me. Anti- extension, anti-lateral flexion, and building quality tissue resiliency using my own body weight. That’s all, it just me and my heavy ass rude ass body that I do not OWN at the moment. I’d rather OWN it than CONDONE it. Rethink your beast mode BS, and do the same if your body is not in a great place at the moment. :

Watch as I move my trunk forward without elevating my shoulders. I’m in a protracted state (shoulders), thorax retracted. Core is on fire, which is good, because I couldn’t FIND it like I can now weeks ago. Shoulders forgot what it means to stable, triceps are slowly starting to do their job, especially on the right. I am creating maximal tension through the palms into the ground to help give me a reference so I can adequately increase force production. It’s basic for many, but not for all. It really depends on where you are in your journey. Come on down to UNSHAKEN and we will assess and dissect. Break you down, and remold. Let’s make you the best VERSION of YOURSELF. ❤️🏋🏽👣

•Warm up- Don't really have a name for this, but tie a resistant band just above your knees, with a wide stance keep your butt low and your chest up and you slowly move side to side
• Warm up 2- Again don't have a name for this, but it trains explosive movements, starting on your knees jump up onto your feet without using your hands
• Romanian deadlifts - 3 sets of 10 and a 4th set until failure, with a slow eccentric phase
• Barbell back squats - 4 sets until failure
• Reverse lunges - 3 sets of 10 reps on each side. Make sure to drive that front foot through the floor in order to stand back up
• Hip thrusts- This was literally the first time I've tried doing this exercise and I'm not sure how I feel about it but it gives a great squeeze in the glutes. 3 sets of 15
• Hamstring curls- This was my finisher, I did 3 sets to failure with a drop set at the end
