Really focusing this week on clean eating & looking after my body. I found that over the last week when I was stressed out I didn’t look after myself or eat well or even make time to exercise. I dont know if any of my FB and IG friends noticed that I've been pretty evasive lately but I myself am trying to figure things out. I've entered a new phase in my life and there is no avoiding it. Just facing it head on and dealing with it. I am premenopausal so my mood and my hormones are all over the place. On top of that the weight gain is not helping my mental state. During this journey to better health exercise has become my escape from daily stress and my dose of feel good endorphins (instead of the old food induced coma). BUT I am currently suffering from lower back pain that resonates in my legs. When I exercise I get a tingling and burning sensation in my legs all the way to the soles of my feet. And as I keep pushing the pain gets much worse. I only blame myself for this because when the pain first started a few months back I ignored it and kept pushing through the pain instead of properly resting and letting my body heal. So now it is time a really take care of me. Lifting is on the back burner and I am back to basics. Lower back and abs stregthening exercises/stretching, walking (stopping to stretch out my back when the pain starts), cycling on bike paths only (no offroad cycling for now and no long distance). All this is affecting my motivation and dedication. I feel like shit and hate what i see in the mirror. I am depressed and trying to do what it takes to get myself out of this funk. I even started wearing make up. I never wear make up. So if any of you are going through similar shit please know that you are not alone.
