TE ARAOA 2017/2018 COMPLETE! Cape Reinga to Sterling Point. 3000 KM. 114 DAYS. When I started this trail back on November 23, 2017, I could never have fathomed what exactly the next months would bring. I started the trail seeking solitude and space and found instead community and connection. I am overwhelmingly thankful to all of the people who have entered into my life and the time we spent together, whether it was for months, weeks, days or even just hours. I can unabashedly and unapologetically say that there is no way I’d be standing where I am now without them. From hiking partners, to families who took me in, to people who picked me up on the side of the road and individuals met in huts, hostels, holiday parks and homes, I am grateful for all the generosity and support you gave me along my journey. This trail has taught me so much about the many dichotomies that exist in the human experience; determination and resignation, sorrow and joy, strength and suppleness, certainty and doubt, motion and stillness, but more than anything, it has taught me that I AM HERE, safe in the knowledge that I am unequivocally happy. It has reasserted a positive personal outlook on myself and helped me to accept all that I am. The new scars on my body are reminders of the physical trials I endured and my connection to nature while the ones on my heart are a reminder of how far I have come and all that I have processed and accepted along the way. I am thankful for the people who created this trail that has guided me into a new stage of my life, grateful to the community of individuals who pulled me through thick and thin times, grateful to my Mother and Father for supporting me in their various ways, and simply grateful to have time. Time to relax, time to experience, time to wander, time to live and time for everything that is still to come. #teararoa#quarterlifecrisis#ontothenextadventure#nomorewalking
CONFIDENCE. // So many of us maintain a common, damaging misconception that to if we let ourselves feel proud of ourselves— if we actually take a moment to appreciate our gifts and accomplishments— then we’ll be “big-headed” or “cocky.” I hear this concern in my office all the time. It could NOT be further from the truth!! Real, authentic confidence— a genuine feeling of contentment with ourselves and love for ourselves— is a quiet, peaceful feeling. It’s totally different from cockiness, which frankly I think of as fake confidence; compensation for a lack of real confidence. So let’s clear this up once and for all: IT’S OKAY to feel good about ourselves!! Turns out, it’s actually deeeeeeply important! Give it a try... ❤️
Here's a truth I'm all too familiar with:
The work of a creative entrepreneur can often be double, because we have to constantly strive to create harmony between living the creative life that we are so passionate about, and entrepreneurial life - which is often much more systematic and regimented than what we naturally align with.
This is why I'm so obsessed with productivity, it's the marriage if the two, it's the necessary structure.. or safety net around the trampoline.. that allows you to jump higher, take more chances, and be more creative. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
work hard, dream harder.✨ #freedomrebellion
Half an hour into what was supposed to be a fun jaunt to help the corgi lose a few pounds I lost it. I'm tired of always being on the verge of yelling or tears. I'm tired of feeling like a complete mess. I'm tired of anxiety and depression being my default. Hoping to get back on an anti-anxiety medication in the next couple weeks because I'm so done with hating my perfectly wonderful life. #momlife#livingwithanxiety#quarterlifecrisis#gottadobetter
It's so easy to stay in a comfort zone and sometimes we stay here unconsciously. Why make life difficult? I have the answer for you: TO GROW !
You know, the human body is a machine with the incredible adaptation capacities, but these adaptations will only be made if you force it to do so.
Getting out of the comfort zone on a voluntary basis at the gym can be extremely painful, but if you persist and continue despite the pain, you can go to levels you never imagined and learn about yourself.
This transcendence is an opportunity to temporarily get out of your comfort zone and explore new horizons. Fitness is therefore a temporary way of exiting your comfort zone. Mindset tuning is the only way you can fully exit this zone and become a better version of yourself.
If you stay in your little slippers, without feeling any pressure, will you become the person you really want to be? Will you fulfill your deepest dreams and accomplish yourself?
MAKE A DIFFERENCE
One person can make a difference.
When you’re doing the dishes, sending up wishes, depending on everyone else to grant change with petitions.
Get out there and speak.
You’re not weak, just meek,
And deep, and ready to leap
Get out of the queer feelings,
unclear of why you steer away from championing another day
towards a life of knowing what you want to say. What you want to change. What you came into this world to make.
Get out from under the rock, the mock, the shock of realizing that the other side of life is getting farther
and farther away.
Today is another day to display who you wish to become.
Not a dumb version of another person who sits comfortable under the sun.
having fun with no one who matters.
Let the facade shatter
to reveal a spiritual being,
not a human who stopped seeing
what is right.
In front of you is a clue.
What you need to do is what your heart asks of you.
You’ve always known it too.
What did you do when you were two, and ten, and 22 when life felt fresh, exciting and in full view.
What did your mother and father die wanting?
But instead led a life stopping
all the joy and the growth.
“Our children needed to be cared for by us folks”, “we couldn’t risk being a joke”, “a dream’s a hoax”.
That’s not you.
Do what you want to.
The world needs more of you
to get the nerve to serve, to conserve the environment, to realize you deserve to enjoy life before retirement.
Get outside of it.
Make a difference. .

Joy comes from many places, but one of the biggest sources of it comes from connection with other people.
The more courage you can muster to be open, vulnerable and completely authentic with yourself and the rest of the world, the stronger and more authentic your connections will be with other people.
You’ll also find the right people for you, so make sure to truly be yourself so that you can find each other!
Shine your beautiful light as bright as you can 😊🌞✨
The greater the love you have for yourself, the greater your capacity to love others. The greater your love for others, the more you can help, listen to, see, understand, connect with, and inspire others. This is the secret to your success.
