Sounds of Fredericksburg residents discussing the Restaurant Week Passport filled La Petite Auberge this afternoon for lunch. It was reminiscent of kids on a scavenger hunt so excited to find the next treasure🏆. They were discussing how wonderful their meal was and where they planned to go tomorrow. One lady at a table near mine boasted to her friends that she was going to win the $250 worth of Downtown Fredericksburg gift cards💳. During Restaurant Week people get pretty excited🤩 about the opportunity to sample different restaurants at a great price.
Today I headed to one of my favorite local restaurants, La Petite Auberge, to sample their incredibly priced lunch for $10.18. I wasn’t sure what to expect at this special price point. All of the meals started off with a house side salad with their homemade dressing, and it was a great starter🥗. I was excited to find a variety of entree options and had trouble deciding between the trout with almonds and capers or the flank steak bearnaise🍽. The waiter recommended the trout and said it was one of his favorite items on their menu. I was impressed throughout the meal that every time I said “thank you”, it was followed by a “my pleasure” from the waiter. It was a nice touch, and the service from beginning to end was superb. Now, back to the trout! It was great, just like the waiter had described. It included delicious scalloped potatoes and a side of coleslaw. They really went above and beyond with what they included for the $10.18, and I highly recommend you make La Petite Auberge one of your stops this week.
My challenge continues on tomorrow, and I’m still not sure where to go. I’ve been to Soup and Taco II and Don Moncho on the first two days. Stress, toxic work environments have direct deposits to your health and state of mind. With each paycheck, you are getting a little bit more then just money.
You go home at the end of the day feeling wore out, not because of the job itself, but because of the environment. MOVE! If you cannot change your place of business and make it better, change your place of business. Take a chance and invest in yourself! Your worth it! It’s almost as if we are programmed to settle for less and bullshit! Sometimes getting the bills paid, is not really getting the bills paid.

As we roll into the Spring 2018 market, it's important to point out there are only 5 areas with an average price point under $200k. Only 5! This means it's a lot harder for first time home buyers to purchase. ▪▪▪
Merion Village & Blacklick continued to be hot areas all year long, and I don't see that changing in 2018. The lack of inventory in Gahanna allows Blacklick to continue to grow, while Merion Village has a lower price point than other "downtown" neighborhoods keeping it under 20 Days on Market.
