Not #tbt yet, but 3 years ago when me and Thanh did our first pop up! Little quick background of me and Thanh.. we came together because both our families were from small towns where our parents were in the seafood business. Softshell crabs and flounder both came straight from our parents so we wanted to do a seafood theme that felt like home-style cooking.
I kinda took it for granted by not taking enough time to fully prepare myself for the event. I was a bit overwhelmed with many things and wasn't as happy with the finished product. Me and Thanh sort of did last minute changes due to reasons and it sort of screwed us in the end in with what we were both aiming for.
Many mishaps and also challenging at the time the event started. Friends and family came out to support us and in the end it was a great outcome! Definitely learned alot and maybe would like to jump back into it one day if I ever got the time! Big shoutout to terry and robin on pushing us both to do the pop up, and as usual for the glitter fam to welcome us with open arms! It was both challenging and a fun experience. Missed the old days of coming in weekly so I definitely need to stop by for a visit soon!

The big debate... COCKLES. Yay or Nay? I offered a few to a homeless fella and he buggered off soon after. He obviously wasn't homeless enough, which begs the second question... Do cockles offer the best test to see if a person is really 'THAT' homeless? He honestly gave me the biggest 'F✌🏻ck you face' before going along on his merry way.
On the blog today, a recipe for seafood pasta in parchment. It combines 3 things I love: seafood, pasta, and cooking in parchment! Seared scallops, mussels, and shrimp steam together with a fresh cherry tomato sauce and al dente pasta in the oven. I love seafood pasta without parchment too, but this gives an extra special experience to the person opening the steaming parcel on their plate. Link to recipe in profile.
