Tracey Rose, a contemporary artist from Durban recently featured in @documenta14, is consistently at the center of her compilation of photos, video, installations, and performances.
"Rituals of revelation and rituals of reordering are what Rose offers: the uncovering and recalibration of histories of violence, of women’s often unspoken presence in these histories, and of the limits and limitlessness of language and of these tellings, and through all this, the healing of some of the ruptures of self," Ghanaian art critic, Nana Oforiatta Ayim, wrote for the “documenta 14: Daybook.”
Featured artworks: 1 & 2.) Art Thou Not Fair: KniggerKhaffirKhoon aka “KKK” (2014); 3.) Tower #1 Caryatid #1 : Made for Hoerikwaggo (2017) Photo by Stathis Mamalakis 4.) Die Wit Man (2015)
