Wet Feet, Wallaga Lake, NSW
The Wallaga Lake area is a real gem for anyone with a camera. It has many well photographed areas, and then some less known ones. I was driving around the north area, scouting as the shadows lengthened, and spotted a gap in the trees beside the road. As I walked toward the lakes edge, I spotted these great looking trees all standing in the cool of the lake water, watching the sun setting. Talk about a waterside location for life! It was a great place to shoot a few frames, however there was really only one shot to be had, and as the sun started to set I noticed colours to the left and right. I jumped back into the car and went to the famous jetty and grabbed a mighty fine sunset afterglow image which I have already posted.
This is a combined/composite image blended with freehand masking. A long exposure blurs the water, and a shorter exposure highlights the colours in the sky and adds just a little movement to the water image.
