Our third bottle from Cab Sauv week was this supermarket find from @stormhoekwine in this rather festive bottle. A pretty simple red wine from this year (2017) with lots of dark fruit flavours and high acid levels. An entry level priced bottle from Stellenbosch which was some of the club members favourite from the night!
Combining the intensity of 'New World' and the elegance of 'Old World', Kleine Zalze has created a gorgeous Sauvignon Blanc for us to savour. Have you visited their estate? Stay for lunch, if you do. And send pics; we'll get jealous, but we can handle it. 😉
Good to drink now, but according to the winemaker - if you can hold out - even better in 5 years. Asparagus, gooseberry, passion fruit and tomato leaf... a few of the flavours you can find in the 2017 @stellenboschvineyards Sauvignon Blanc. ⠀
WIN 😃 this wine and all the #FNBTop10 winning wines by commenting with a dinner canapé or party snack that you'd pair with Sauvignon Blanc, and you may get lucky! 😋 (Follow the link in our bio for the terms & conditions.)
Asparagus, green pepper, oak, vanilla, grass, and gooseberry... a few of the descriptive words used in the sensory analysis of this award winning Sauvignon Blanc. ⠀
Tickle your fancy? You could win all of the #FNBTop10 Sauvignons Blancs for your collection! Comment on this post telling us what canapé or snack you'd pair with this particular wine, and you may get lucky. Make us hungry! (T's & C's: link in bio). Now, we chatted to the lovely people over at @mulderboschvineyards and found out that the name ‘1000 Miles’ is a reference to the miles and miles spent driving down dusty farm roads during harvest to ensure they pick their special parcels of grapes at just the right time to produce this lovely wine. We think hard work and passion should be added to the flavour analysis. Surely if one can taste love in cooking... #knowwhatwemean ☺️

Congratulations to our winemaker Coenie Snyman and his hardworking team on this outstanding award! .
Our Estate Vineyard Syrah is a deep ruby red wine. Pronounced dark chocolate and earthy aromas are, followed by sweet spices - nutmeg, cinnamon and toffee essence. The palate is full and juicy with velvety tannins that are fresh with flavours of strawberries and sour cherries.
This is exactly why we pair it with a juicy sirloin steak, mustard butter, green salad and fries at our Tasting Room.
