December marks my 2 year anniversary into the world of Acro. It was at this beautiful park where I met @murdoc305 two years ago. It was at this park that we flew for the first time and my stomach had butterflies 🦋. A lot has happened since, but the connection and love is much more stronger. ♥️ .

One of the coolest (and sometimes scariest) parts of this practice is that it give us the opportunity to come face to face with who we truly are. And not just the version we present to the world (mother, father, doctor, teacher, etc). It's the version of ourselves that we often keep hidden from those around us. Sometimes we even hide it from ourselves. It's the part of our nature that only comes out when the lights are low and no one is watching.
But who we are is ever-changing. And who you are today-good or bad-is likely not permanent. The best way to get acquainted with yourself is to be bold enough to strip off whatever mask, armor or disguise you've been guarding yourself with. That is the work of this practice.
A number of stretch’s can help you after leg day sessions.
For me I find a laying Piriformis one the best. This is because it helps improve my sciatic nerve pain that I get on my right side.
The Piriformis muscle is located deep in your bum and is close to the sciatic nerve.
This can mean that when this muscles gets over worked or irritated it can cause sciatic nerve pain signals.👌🏻
I find that my quadriceps are very dominating when doing leg exercises so I try my best to use my Glutes, but my Gutes and piriformis muscles need work.
When the muscles are weak it can lead to them getting irritated quickly. I’m working hard to correct this so making sure I use my glutes more and stretch more.🍑
Using my glutes more and trying to be less quad dominate has made my bum has grown! Yay! 🙌🏻

Post 215: Triple Extension
Explosive movements should not be reserved for any one population. While the utility of triple extension is obvious for athletes and weekend warriors, it’s also vital for the geriatric population and everyone in between.
The overhead medball slam is a great way to teach and practice triple extension with individuals of all ages. It can be performed alone or with a partner to make it more fun. Slow and controlled exercise is important during rehab, but so is fast and unpredictable.
